Great location on Grand Canal. Arriving and departing by private water taxi at the front of the hotel is amazing. Rooms were nice and breakfast was excellent, but what really sets this hotel apart is the service, its second to none.

Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Venice.

Highly recommend.

One night in this wonderful hotel was a great experience; the personal really lovely, the location magic and every details made our stay a fantastic experience. We also enjoy the outdoor terrace with a nice drink.

Fantastically positioned on the Grand Canal more or less half way between the rail station and St Mark's Square. The decor is terrific and rooms have a wonderful opulent feel, nicely equipped and probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Our room was spacious, light and airy and despite the busy streets close by, peaceful. Staff attentive and polite, providing good advice on the area and recommendations for restaurants as one would expect. Breakfast more than adequate and attention from the delightful staff superb. A great choice for our 4 night family stay and certainly a hotel I would both strongly recommend and would visit again.

It's not only film stars and royalty who can pull up at the private terrace in their private water taxi !-that is how we arrived from the airport, and it felt very grand !! It is the best way by far to start your stay in Venice, albeit a very expensive one, but for a one-off well worth the experience.
The hotel is beautiful-it is like holidaying in a stately home, which of course it is, being the house which belonged to a very influential and powerful Venitian family dating back hundreds of years. The public areas are ornately, but tastefully decorated, and the breakfast room is a delight, with soothing classical music being played in the adjoining function room. This latter is stunning, and each morning was set out to show its various uses-wedding breakfast, conference, private dining etc. The breakfasts were the usual continental buffets, plentiful and varied but not over-facing, and the serving staff were charming. The coffee was the best I have had for a long time!
We were only booked for bed and breakfast, but on our first and last days we had lunch on the terrace over looking the Grand Canal, and it was delightful, sitting in the sun, drinking quality wine and eating lovely food -bliss !
Our room was a junior suite and was beautiful, the bed was king sized and very comfortable, and the bathroom was very well designed and luxurious. All the usual accessories were provided, as you would expect in such a top-notch hotel.
Our first morning we woke up in darkness, not knowing what time it was-little did we realise that when they turn down the bed for the night they also close the shutters and the black-out curtains and the heavy drapes, so that it was actually quite late, and a gloriously sunny morning !! -it certainly helped our sleep, and we enjoyed very restful and peaceful nights.
The main down-fall, however, was the one evening meal which we had in their small restaurant. The purpose of our visit was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, which was on our second day there. We had heard such a lot about the very high standard of the chef in their restaurant so we decided to eat in-and what a disappointment. Starters were ok, but the main course was not up to scratch-they brought the wrong one for my husband and simply removed it and gave it straight to the chap on the next table without taking it away, and my fish was poor-it was over-done, charred in places, the veg was cold as was the plate, some of the fish-I think it was calamari-was as tough as old boots, and it was all-in-all tasteless.I should have sent it back, and demanded another dish, but I ploughed on hoping each mouthful would get better, but in the end gave up. The only compensation they offered was a free dessert but by this time we had had enough, and declined-and there was no reduction in the bill, either. Not the kind of service one would expect from such a top flight hotel,or chef-a huge disappointment.
After that, we always ate out, and found some delightful osterias in the vicinity.
Apart from that, however, we did enjoy our short stay and would recommend it to anyone wanting a taste of luxury.I must add that the hotel is very well located-there is the water bus stop to one side, and the gondola ferry on the other side, which simply takes you across the canal to the Rialto fish market(which is well worth a look just to see the many weird and wonderful fish there is on sale!)' and you can also hire a gondola for the essential romantic gondola ride!!-again, very pricey but good fun for a one-off treat. It is also in reasonable walking distance of all the major sites.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, our junior suite was beautiful though only had a side view of the canal-canal si...

I booked this break for my boyfriend's birthday and let the hotel know at booking. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Reception and particularly Lucia. She has a quiet, professional yet warm personality and she directly us to places of interest whilst we waited for our room to be ready.
On our return she escorted us to our room. We arrived at the lift and she told us we had our own floor! My boyfriend and I looked at each other in shock. I had booked a junior suite but didn't imagine anything like this. Room 205 was on floor 2A. A lovely room with a large (comfortable) bed, small sitting room and marble bathroom. It was a comfortable, luxurious room. The only downfall was the view. The back of the hotel into an unkept courtyard. But if you are anything like us, we got up had breakfast, we were out most of the day, back to shower and out for dinner. Once you return your shutters have been closed with the turndown so wasn't a big thing.
The staff were all lovely, friendly but unassuming. One evening I decided to ask for a turndown with chocolate as my boyfriend loves chocolate, which they did without hesitation. The hotel was beautiful, breakfast tasty, and all in all a gem.
Venice itself was lovely. We were there 3 days and felt it was just about right for visiting the main historical and romantic places. We did the gondola ride with Alex who took his job very seriously and gave us a mini tour with a song! Slightly cringing but necessary! Lots of walking too.
We found (through tripadvisor) two restaurants. Both were lovely but the one we visited twice was the Osteria La Bottega ai Promessi Sposi, just a short walk from the hotel. On both occasions we asked the hotel to make the reservation which they were happy to. The restaurant was very authentic and the food was amazing. Great service from attentive staff. Cost about £100 for two for a three course meal.
Would highly recommend this hotel. We booked through Expedia.

Staying at the Ca Sagredo was an absolute delight.

From our arrival by private water taxi, pulling up at the private deck, we already felt important. The reception area of the hotel is very dramatic and it is hard to concentrate on the check-in process as you just want to look at the fabulous décor.

We were shown to our suite on the first floor, and absolutely over the moon with the Grand Suite. It is the most amazing room, with wonderful furnishings and great views over the Grand Canal. You feel like royalty as you walk around the massive suite of rooms. At night the bed was very comfortable – you felt like you were sleeping on a cloud, and we were surprised at how quiet it was.

The hotel is in a great location, just on the outskirts of the heaving narrow streets near the Rialto Bridge, but it does not take long to walk anywhere. Unfortunately it rained a fair bit during our stay in Venice so we stayed close to the hotel for dinner and found a couple of very enjoyable local restaurants.

Breakfast was a very good continental breakfast, with fresh fruits and pastries as well as a selection of warm food. The staff in the breakfast room were very friendly and helpful, and showed interest in their guests. Once again the décor of the breakfast rooms were a talking point of their own.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who likes the personal touch a smaller boutique hotel gives you, but with the grandeur of staying in a palace!

The Ca Sagredo Hotel is situated on the Grand Canal opposite the Realto Market. It is one of the finest hotels in Venice. A room or a suite with a canal view is well worth the additional costs. The Alcova restaurant on the Canal terrace is a great spot to sit and watch the activity on the Canal. There is a Gondeler and water taxi station under 1 minutes way. The hotel is a Historical monument and well worth a visit

Room Tip: Reserve a Canal View room
