Had higher expectations from this hotel after reading the 'glowing' reviews. Arrived by water taxi late afternoon and no porter or assistant to help with my luggage, greeted the lone woman swamped behind the desk, an upgrade to a view room? Ok but that's where it ended. The room outdated, dank, smelt of tobacco, had an important business dinner to attend and needed a dress ironed, no iron in my room, I requested one, the young clearly out of her depth, explained this was not possible due to the safely being an old hotel and such, ok I get that, so can someone press it for me, no the reply, the ironing woman only works in the morning... Is there anything anyone can do? Flatly no. A five star hotel? A dress pressed too much to ask? Disgraceful. I mentioned it to the surly manager the following morning who showed no interest what so ever, no apology, nothing. I requested a water taxi to be ordered the following morning, did it arrive? No, no one ordered it, I almost missed my flight. Don't stay at this absolute joke of a '5 star hotel'

I scored some major points with my wife by having us arrive at the hotel by water taxi. The taxi pulled right up in front, the staff was there instantly to help unload the luggage and help us out. The front desk staff was very professional and, I believe, had people who are native English speakers. The hotel used to be a palace, although it is, of course, much renovated. Only one elevator and it's pretty small. Breakfast was in a beautiful high ceiling room on the second floor, with everything I would want to eat. This is an elegant hotel in a town overrun by day trippers off of cruise ships. We particularly enjoyed that our room had a roof top patio, overlooking the Grand Canal and the rest of the city. The staff was eager to tell us that ours was the only such room. We also enjoyed having a drink on the porch at the Canal level and watching all of the boats go by.

Words cannot describe how beautiful this hotel is! We stayed on the second floor and when we opened the window we had a lovely view of the gondola station and the grand canal. The service at the hotel was impeccable, especially during breakfast. Booked on Otel.com. It was definitely worth the expense.

We stayed at Ca'Sagredo for two nights during our Italian journey along with our two grown sons. Although we didn't ask for it, they gave us two separate rooms which were joined by its own private hallway along with the key to the hallway door to allow us to have "adjoining" rooms if we wanted. Nice touch. The place itself is very much a worth picture taking moment. It was beautiful and it was hard to believe we were staying there. Worth staying just for the experience. I felt as though I was on a tour of a famous palace. The rooms were very nice. Beds comfortable, bathrooms clean and nice with all the amenities you'd expect. The air conditioning worked very well which was nice after hot days of walking. All in all, absolutely no complaints on the rooms.

The location of the hotel is right by the vaporetto C'Oro stop so it's easy to reach. We splurged on a water taxi from the train station and were met by hotel staff as soon as we were stepping on to their dock. They took our luggage, checked us in, and were very friendly and helpful. Service was top notch. They helped us during our stay answer questions and giving us recommendations and directions. Again, top notch.

Although we didn't eat here, we did enjoy drinks on their outside patio on the canal. It was beautiful and relaxing. Service was good and we enjoyed our evening relaxing.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone for a Venice stay. It's beautiful, historic, excellent service, great rooms. If we return, we'll be back for sure!

Had a miserable time at this hotel in April 2012. We were given one of the rooms in the attic (floor 5) and couldn't wait to leave! Don't believe it's changed so much since then or that your published reviews are unbiased.

Room Tip: 5th floor too hot and no view

Well worth spending your hard earn't staying here!

The hotel is an old palace overlooking the Grand Canal with beautiful rooms, grand ornate 'public rooms' but the added bonus is the staff who couldn't be more friendly and helpful.

The hotel is roughly halfway between St. Marks Square and the Piazzale Roma (the railway station end). Opposite the hotel the other side of the Grand Canal are the daily fish and vegetable markets which are well worth a wander around in the mornings.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights for a special birthday and from our arrival when we were greeted with a bottle of Proseco and chocolate covered strawberries to our departure we were made to feel very special. The staff at all levels helped us with restaurant recommendations, to the best tickets for the vaporetto's (the water buses) and most importantly the best times to see some of the more popular sights. Be careful, when a cruise ship or four are in town the streets and sights are packed!

The rooms are very luxurious, plenty of room, very well equipped, large comfortable beds and brilliant showers! We needed a few more hangers for our clothes and these were delivered to our room within 5 minutes - no problem!

Breakfast in the morning was in a beautiful room. There was a wide range of choice from the usual continental selection, range of fruit juices including the ability to make your own; with a
small cooked selection.

We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night overlooking the Grand Canal and this was superb.

So in conclusion, if you want a hotel for a special occasion, and want to feel special then stay here for a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Go for a grand canal view!

Converted Palazzo, very elegant and spacious hotel on the Grand Canal. One street away from Vaporetto with Traghetto service to the Rialto Market right outside the door. We had two junior suites on the first floor right on the canal, with a small common hallway door that we could lock. Minor canal noise, noticeable but not distracting at all. Rooms are moderately sized but the ceilings are high which improves the feel. Small but very well appointed bathrooms. Public spaces are very grand. Good housekeeping service; helpful front desk staff. The breakfast buffet is included and features plenty of fresh fruit, pastries, breads, eggs, cheese & meats; service very polite. One dinner was also included that on paper was worth a bit over 400 Euros for 5 persons. Total bill was just over 4000 Euro for 3 nights, with breakfast and one dinner included for 5 persons. Ten minute taxi to train station and 25 minute taxi to airport. Good location. Recommend.

Room Tip: We had canal front suites on the first floor with a connecting hall; perfect for travel with older c...
