From all the hotels in Venice, we fortunately selected Hotel Becher for our first visit to Venice in Nov 2012. First, the staff was super friendly, informative and accomodating. Second, the breakfast buffet was wonderful. The cappucinos were abundant at breakfast. Third, the canal view room was small but all that a couple needs. Fourth, good location near St Marks and Realto bridge. And the answer is YES....to if we would return to this hotel. So try it, you'll like it!!!

My husband and I traveled through Italy for 2 weeks in november for out honeymoon and this was the best hotel of our trip! I will say initially it was hard to find but if you can get walking directions from the San Marco water stop it really is a short 5-10 minute walk tops! Miss Anna was so wonderful from the moment we walked in and the rest of the staff was all so friendly. She went above and beyond to make sure or stay and experience in Venice was outstanding!! The room is a bit small but again I am an American so most rooms in Europe are smaller than what we are used to. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We had a very nice view of the canal and was not noisy in the least. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the Rialto and the hotel was also very helpful in giving us directions to get over there. The breakfast was great, only hotel that made cappuccino's fresh instead of from a machine. For the location and price this is a great hotel to stay, the great and helpful staff just makes it an even better reason to stay!

Wonderful hotel. Anna the owner is extremely helpful with her candid answers. Hotel has an elevator and a dock for your water taxi from the airport. Concierge was also very helpful. Breakfasts are great. Location is mid way between San Marco Square and Realto Bridge. Short 15 minute walk to either. I would highly recommend this hotel. Drawbacks ? Heat in our room was too high. Advice ? Get a room overlooking the canal. Also, stay in Venice at least 2 days to see all that's there.

Our family of 4 stayed here last August, 2012 for four nights. It was our first time in Venice. Hotel Becher was the perfect location to discover Venice, being situated at the centre of San Marco district and within 5 minutes walk from the San Marco Square. It is a small little boutique hotel hidden in a narrow alley, but right from the entrance, was clean and air conditioned. We rented the family room (hard to find in Venice), which offered surprisingly plenty of space for our family, which includes two grown teenagers. Right from when we disembarked from our water taxi, we felt the warmth, welcome and genuine hospitality from the front staff. Both front clerks, Anna and Massimo, offered consistent, friendly and helpful service throughout our stay, making us feel like part of a family. Another big plus was the included buffet breakfast, which was one of the best I've seen - fresh and full of variety. The ladies serving the breakfast were super helpful and very courteous. The best location and the best value - you will not be disappointed! We will visit again!
