“Simply The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

From the minute you walk into this hotel, you know you are in an upscale resort setting. Hilton has done a wonderful job from the amazing lobby, different restaurant selections, and wonderful breakfast buffets, to the rooftop pool, on-site history and superior customer service. Would highly recommend staying here and can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Corner deluxe room was amazing!

This was our 3rd visit to Venice in 5 years so we didn't feel the need to be in the middle of things. We couldn't have asked for a better place to be. We arrived after 24 hours in transit and were provided an upgraded room (suite) overlooking the Grand Canal. It was lovely, comfortable, and quiet. The hotel provides regular shuttle boat service to the piazza directly across the canal (where we ventured around back areas for dinner--comfortable, not too crowded, and good food), as well as regular service to St Mark's Square. Getting to the hotel from the airport wasn't exactly convenient but that can be said for any of the Venice hotels, and after that, we had no issues. We had reservations that included the buffet breakfast, which was excellent in variety, taste, and service. We were going from the hotel to our cruise ship the next day (easy and inexpensive on the regular vaporetto service), and the hotel concierge was very helpful in making sure we understood how that worked and how easy it would be so that we didn't need to spend an exorbitant amount for a water taxi. The hotel was an old flour mill, and it's amazing to look at all of the pictures both of the active mill and the work that was needed to make it into a top of the line hotel, very high end but comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

First Things First

1. Too far from airport. Difficult to reach. Will have to pull luggage across a long distance and on connecting bridges. You will curse your choice till you reach the property. Once you know your way around, it is pure bliss.

2. Everything about this hotel is grand, world class. Great Decor, Excellent Service, Majectic Rooms, Great View, Free Shuttles, Good Food.

3. If you want to explore this property fully dont travel oct - Jan period when the Sky lounge and swimming pool is closed.

So the biggest query is answere here in this post, How to reach this hotel.

Method 1. If you dont have budget constaint, come to water taxi station near venice aiport and take a direct water taxi to Hilton. This will cost you 105 euro. If you have a lot of luggage and a group of 4-5 people this is fastest and suggested mode.

Method 2. If you have time and can wait, there is alilaguna boats that go directly to Hilton stop but the service is every one hour. This will cost you only 17 euro and will take you to Hotel directly.

Method 3. Come from airport to Piazzale Roma on shuttle no 5. Take a vaparetto to San Marco. Come to Hotel Hilton free shuttle stand in front of hotel pensione wildner and wait for the next shuttle to take you directly to hotel free of cost. This trip will cost you Euro 20 approx.

Method 4. Take a shuttle (No 5) in front of airporT and Reach Piazza Roma. Take a ticket of Vaparetto for Giudecca. The hotel is on Giudecca. Giudecca has four stops Zitelle, Rodentore, Palance and Sacca Fisole. Palance is closest to hotel. From this point, hotel is just 3-4 mints walk and just one bridge to cross. This trip will cost you around 20 Euro per person. Take Actv line 2 or 41/42.

Once you have solved your commuting issue and have reached hotel after that exploring venice from Hilton is not an issue. A free shuttle boat of hilton takes you to zattere and san marco and back every 30 minutes.

The property is beautiful, lot of options in food and adds on to you venetian getaway.

Room Tip: Even if it means shelling a few more bucks, go for Rooms with View. It will be worth it.

Nice hotel with shuttle boats which are useful. Had a lovely stay, rooms pleasant had courtyard view. Unfortunate did not get interconnecting rooms requested but got rooms very close in an alcove, so not too bad as out children older. Views from sky bar are fantastic, shame its not open in the day in winter as was lovely and sunny and daylight view would be fantastic. Very good with the children and sophisticated restaurant was quite happy to do burger for the kids while we ate lovely meal. Got entrance to the spa free as diamond members, but dont think would have paid as, was just a jacuzzi and steam room with single sex sauna. Indoor pool would have been lovely or heated outdoor in winter would have been lovely again in the day. Cocktails were gorgeous too in skybar. Exec club was good but bit exposed on ground floor and not big enough. Prosecco would have been nice too though. Breakfast was great and they would cook pancakes etc to order even though they did not advertise this you do need to ask and a lovely glass of prosecco again. Gloria on reception was particularly helpful. Would have loved to have had the new years eve dinner but they wanted too much for the children as they would have not wanted that much food and cannot drink the alcohol so we went out instead.

We stayed at the Molino Stucky for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it.

The hotel is on a small island a short water taxi ride from the main island in Venice. We enjoyed coming back to "our small island" after a day walking of around in Venice. The water taxi made the trip easy and short. From the airport, we took the bus and then the normal Venice water buses.

The rooms are extremly spacious, with a large, comfy double bed and a nice and clean bathroom featuring a shower and a bathtub.

Staff was helpful and nice.

The breakfast buffet is incredible: A large selection of everything, ranging from sweet pastry to omlettes and ! gluten free bread is served for breakfast and there is an small corner dedicated to gluten free food with the most amazing gluten free chocolate cake. We also had dinner once and I order gluten free pasta which was also very tastful.

The spa is not so "fancy" and the gym is rather small, even though equipped with everything needed.

We were looking forward to be in the unique city of Venice. We were not very excited when we left.
We got there by overnight train from Vienna, train station was not nice or pretty at all. When we got out we took a private water taxi close to the station (which does not have any way to get your luggage down from the station except using STAIRWAYS) I had 3 full size luggage that I had to carry each one step by step, that is Italy..No one to help or take your luggage.
The water Taxi fare is 60 Euros for about 10 minutes ride to the hotel, had no choice because all the stuff we had. We arrived to the hotel about 09:30 AM, we got check-in in a reasonable time but the room would not be available until Noon..They allowed us to the executive lounge since I am a Hilton Honor Gold holder..
By 12:30 pm, we were at our executive suite, the roon was somewhat large with separate living area and desk area, also there is a small kitchenette with small fridge, electric burner, a counter with a sink. The fridge and the burner seem to work, but the sink did not provide water (water was shut down only for the sink in the kitchenette??? anyhow we never used the kitchenette except for the water heater to make tea or coffee. There was also a wooden kitchen cabinet but without any dishes or silverware????
In general the room was OK, the bed and billows were comfortable, bathroom was clean and adequate size with separate bath tub and shower area.. The room did not have enough closets space for both of us, only one closet facing the bathroom with 5 hangers, 3 medium size drawers..Our room was in the Middle building (B 331) with a nice view of the water and the other side of the canal..The breakfast was included and enjoyed it every morning with many choices, cold cuts, cheeses, fruits, juices, coffees/teas, pastries..the usual.. it was from 07:00 AM to 10:30 AM.. The executive lounge is the problem, there is nothing worth eating or drinking except some chips, nuts, bread sticks, soft drinks and water.. not even sweets or pastries, from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. I had an argument with the lounge manager (Matteo) because of his attitude (which is a major problem in all of Italy in the customer service area) Italians do bot give a damn about your satisfaction or service. You like what they offer you, great, you do not like it, find some place else.. (My wife is Italian and she agrees)..
We joined the New Year's Eve party with 220 Euro each, we were very much disappointed. The room was decorated nicely with all in white like Alice in wonderland, the entertainment was poor and boring, One young lady singer with slow and soft American music!!!! We expected at least few Italian songs and music that can make everyone jump and dance??? They had some Russian guy playing some tricks in the intermission.. We did not even had any wine or liqure, because we do not drink Alcohol, so I had a non-alcoholic beer twice and I was told if I ask for more I would have to pay extra charge??? All in all, we could not wait for Midnight to wish each other a happy new year and go to continue our night watching RAI-Uno on the TV which we enjoyed their celebration much better.. Nonetheless, add to that the food was OK, nothing special..The whole night was not worth it,,
The area of the hotel is very poor and not well kept, the San Marco square is a must see and we had a great sunny day, walked from SM square to the other side and had lunch on the canal watching people walking and riding Gondolas back and forth.. We bought some souvenirs and went back to the hotel via the Hotel Water-Shuttle that runs every hour.. That was the best day in all of our five-day trip to Venice (Originally was 7 days and we cut it short and headed to Geneva).. I mentioned to the hotel staff that my Birthday was on the first of January as they can see from my passport, they did not even offer a fruit basket.. Many of the hotels I stay in, especially I reserve a suite, I would find a fruit basket and welcome not in my suite, Not in the Molino Stucky of Venice, they just do not care....
Venice is only good for 2 or 3 days and there are many nice boutique hotels in Zattera and San Marco..Also, if you like good seafood, go to LA FELUCCA Ristorante, I will give detailed review next.. The Hilton Molino Stucky is nice to look at and visit but not to stay, I think it is overpriced.
I have to thank Mr. Tito Di Benedeto Assistant Manager, Mr. Carlo Front Desk, and Ms. Anna hostess at the Molino Breakfast lounge. They tried all their best to make us happy and pleased clients, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, TOTE GRAZE..

Dear Guest,
First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to let us have your impressions about your visit at the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice.
We regret that this time we did not entirely met all your expectations although you expressed a positive feedback with regards to our famous Hilton Breakfast and our Staff who always try their best to welcome our guests and make sure their stay is a memorable one.
In this regard let me allow to apologize for the misunderstanding occurred with our Executive Lounge Supervisor which only purpose was to explain the offer in terms of Food&Beverage choice. All-day refreshments include a selection of snacks and savoury crackers, fresh fruit as well as hot beverages, soft drinks and mineral waters. Per Hilton standards, from 3 PM to 6 PM we offer a selection of biscuits, cookies and cakes, as well as fruit tartlets and local pastries.
From 6 PM to 8.30 PM, we are pleased to offer our guests also cold and hot canapés, a cheese platter with a selection of raw vegetables with dips and a selection of aperitifs, digestives, spirits, red and white wine and beers. All food and beverage items are constantly replenished from our waiters and Executive Lounge staff. In regard to a special birthday amenity, we are always pleased to take special care of guests staying with us for a special celebration. However the information should be received in connection with the reservation, in order to give us time to prepare any arrangement in advance.
All your points have been taken into consideration and were a matter of discussion at our Department Heads meeting. Guest feedback is an Important source to evaluate our efficiency and determine areas of improvement in service. Your contribution was very helpful and appreciated and we look forward to welcoming you with us again in a not too far distance.
Sincerely,

We stayed at this 5 star hotel while visiting Venice and waiting to board a cruise ship. We arrived at the airport and took a water taxi, Alilaguna, directly to the private Molino Stucky dock. It was after dark and raining, so this convenience was much appreciated. The hotel itself was created from an abandoned large flour mill from bygone years, while providing the guest with a 5 star hotel experience. Located across the narrow Guidecca from the main attractions in Venice such as St Mark's square, the hotel offers free shuttle service back and forth to the main islands of traditional Venice. There is also availability of picking up the Alilaguna water taxi which can take you to the cruise terminal or back to the airport. All of this is very convenient and reasonably priced. I would return to the Molino Stucky if we would visit Venice again.
