“Basic, but everything you need!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012 via mobile

I stayed here with my wife based on earlier reviews and we were not dissapointed. Soderini is located in a quiet square away from the crowd but close to everything. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Luca who has an answer readily available for every question.
The room is basic but has everything you need. The breakfast is very good with your own chef who prepares your eggs and bacon just the way you like it. My only complain was the wifi internet. I stayed in a room on the ground floor by the reception and the wifi signal was very poor. However, i cant say the same for other rooms and it was not a big issue for me as i use the reception area for my browsing.

Overall, my stay was a good experience and i would highly recommend Palazzo Soderini and would certainly return.

We stayed 2 nights in family, 2 adults + child 3Y old, and we liked it a lot from the beginning to the end. The location, room, breakfast, building, garden were excellent, but it's the hospitality that impressed us the most, especially as we didn't expect it in this highly touristic city. Very quiet, spotless, efficient wifi. We will for sure return in Soderini when we return to Venice (with slippers as the ground of the bedroom is a bit cold).

Friends, who had already stayed at Palazzo Soderini recommended us this place and we were totally pleased by the warm hospitality of the lady who runs it, the perfect location (just a few minutes from San Marco at a quiet little piazza), the beautiful old building, the tasteful interior, the clean and spacious room (we stayed at the approx. 50sqm "suite", a huge room with a super high ceiling! The other rooms are much smaller, but looked also nice), the nice breakfast (good coffee, eggs, toast). And the prices are absolutely reasonable. We would keep this secret spot to ourselves, if it wasn't for the friendly owner (forgot her name), who told us that there was a short time period when she sublet the place to a couple, who didn't run it the way she liked it and in addition to the few nice rooms in the Palazzo itself, they also offered rooms in another "annex" building and those rooms must have been very run down, dark, etc. Due to that episode it seems that the Palazzo received some bad reviews. But those days are gone, and now I think it's the perfect place to stay in Venice.

Venice is a very expensive place, but even so the price we paid for two nights at this hotel seemed too much. The decor is modern and minimalist, and the building seemed very clean, but the furniture is cheap and unexciting (think basic Ikea) and our room was very small. Not that we needed much room, but there was hardly any room for our cases and very little space to move around the bed.

The breakfast was prepared by a very friendly and helpful man but the food was very basic: given we were in Italy, we expected at least better bread but this seems to be a recurring theme in Venice. The host was friendly and walked us to a decent restaurant on our first evening after we arrived quite late.

Overall, this hotel is fine for a short stay but overpriced for what it offers, and isn't as luxurious as its website and photos make out. Venice is generally overpriced, but still...

Bills itself as a "Palazzo" Only thing Palazzo is the facade Next to it is a run down building annex. Look through Trip Advisor photos before booking.Venere and Booking . com don't show what it's really like. Plain modern, cheap interior,

We loved Palazzo Soderini. It was clean and comfortable and the manager was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. The reception is unattended overnight, but we were a given a contact number for emergencies (there weren't any), and we really enjoyed pretending to have our very own Venetian palazzo. It's situated in one of the residential areas of Venice, so you get to see real, live Venetians, not just tourist attractions, but it's an easy stroll to San Marco and all the "must sees". We fell in love with the carving of a sad-looking lion on the newel post of the staircase - although we patted him every time we went past, he didn't cheer up....
