“A gem in the heart of Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

Fantastic place to stay with family. We had an appartment for four people which was very spacious and clean. The children (two teenagers) slept on the sofa bed which was comfortable and large. The hotel is right in the middle of Venice, 5 minutes walk from both St Mark’s square and Rialto Bridge. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. They helped us book restaurants and pointed out good places for breakfast. We did not need to use the kitchen in the apartment at all. The room had wonderful canal views and we were listening to the gondolieri singing!

Great rooms for a family of 4. We had the most beautiful views from the 5th floor! Lovely service too. There is a great takeaway bar for breakfast down the canal which was convenient for those who need breakfast. I couldn't imagine a better place to stay with kids.

Good location very close to piazza san marco. It does not have a restaurant. The big plus is that rooms are soacious; and they have suites that easily can fit a family of 5 or 6. Value for money is fair, not excellent. Very clean.

This trip I was traveling with my 87 year old mother and 15 year old nephew, and after searching on the internet through many hotels I realized that a triple room was about the same price as an apartment, so I decided to stay in apartments rather than hotels so we would be more comfortable. We began our trip in Milan and there was no lobby at the apartment building so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Residence Corte Grimani. We took a water taxi from the train station (about 80 Euros) and it took about 20 minutes. We were greeted by the nicest people. The check-in was short and sweet, they took our luggage to the room, as if we were in a hotel. There is a wonderful, comfortable lobby. My mother travels with a foldable wheelchair and they told us we could leave it downstairs instead of going up and down in the elevator with it. The room had a sort of coat room when you walked in, then a nice kitchen, dinning room, living room combination with a sofa bed and a queen size bed in a large bedroom, and a nice large bathroom. There was a microwave and fridge. They also had cookies to welcome us. They gave us a map and all kinds of directions and suggestions. St. Marks Square is about a 2 minute walk from the hotel, so the location could not be better. It was sprinkling when we were going out to dinner and they provided us with umbrellas. The next morning we were taking a tour to Murano and it was raining so my mom stayed in the room, I called several times to check up on her and they put me right through. I asked them to please clean the room while my mom was in the room and there was no problem. There is no breakfast or restaurant onsite, but they had great suggestions. On our last day they allowed us to leave our luggage in a safe place since we were leaving around 3p.m. and they also suggested we take the water bus rather than a water taxi (we saved more than 50 Euros). We were concerned with the wheelchair and the bridges but they mapped out a route with no bridges! Next time I travel to Venice I will stay at the Residence Corte Grimani and I recommend it to everyone.

Very good location to walk around. Spacious room and we can use the laundry for 15 euros.
Staff is very kind and nice.

Our family of four stayed here (2 teenagers) in July 2013. The location is superb, just a few minutes walk to St. Marks Square and it is not far from Rialto Bridge. We booked the Apartment Classic Standard for 340Eur a night. The apartment was large by European standards. It is quite sparse and our room was a little dark because it did not have windows out over the canal, but it was clean and had everything we needed for a great price. We stayed in Apartment 203. The front desk staff were very nice (not super friendly, but efficient and helpful). It is located on a side canal so you can take a water taxi from the airport which was a neat experience, albeit a little pricey (over $100). We would definitely recommend Residence Corte Grimani for a family. I also agree with prior reviewers that while the additional charges for the kitchenette and washer do feel like "nickel and dining" - these charges are clearly stated in your confirmation.

Room Tip: We stayed in Apt 203 which was quite dark and did not have a view, I would request to overlook the c...

We stayed for 2 nights and the stay was as we expected. The check-in process was smooth. The location was very good. We traveled with kids and started our day early , we were able to come back for the kids to take a quick nap in the afternoon and then start over again in the late afternoon. This hotel is virtually steps away from Saint Mark's and Rialto.
