“Basic hotel with a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

I stayed at this quite basic but good value for money hotel five nights. The location is great because you can walk from the nearest vaporetto station to the hotel without crossing any bridges. This is convinien when wth heavy luggage. The room was quiet and it provided good quality sleep.Tthe breakfast was also good and it gave enough energy till late lunch.

I stayed at Ciliota several times. Rooms are quite basic but clean and warm. Fridge in the room was useful. The staff are very helpful. Breakfast could be better: the milk in the machines is long life and the juice is not great but brioches and pastries good. Location is perfect: so close to St Mark Square, Accademia, Rialto. Overall very good value.

Wow, Had always wanted to visit Vwnice/Venezia, but the opportunity had never arisen. So en-route from Carry Le Rouet to Sibenik we were passing so close it seemed ridiculous not to visit. Booked into the Domus Ciliota {Online incredible deal £ 136 for double room for 2 nights} hotel 2 minutes walk from St Marco Plaza and wow what a pleasant surprise. Lovely, comfortable, warm room,Great Shower { No What I Mean???} lovely helpful and pleasant, happy staff. Buffet breakfast with all you could wish for!
Parked car {€42 for 2 nights} in Tronchetto Car Park, Took Water bus to Ponte dell Accademia then 2 minute walk to hotel. Had Pizza DUH! and Fegatto the Venetian speciallity. Restaurants
are excellent Typico Italiano, but watch out for the cover charge €8.00 a couple, that's a few beers!!!
Weather was fantastic 10 degress plus and beautiful sunshine, which all in all made this a very enjoyable experience, and VENICE IS FANTASTIC, ooooooooooh those BORGIAS :]

We stayed two nights at Domus Ciliota in October and enjoyed it very much. The hotel is spotless and the location close to the Accademia Bridge is very convenient for exploring the unique city with its canals. Piazza San Marco is an easy ten minute stroll from the hotel. Our room was a nice size, a bit bigger than most European hotel rooms, and a very nice breakfast was served in their large dining room next to the outdoor, garden courtyard. They offer free WiFi throughout the hotel. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly with tips on restaurants and boats. We dined two evenings at the nearby Taverna San Trovaso and enjoyed delicious dinners at a very reasonable price. We would definitely stay at Domus Ciliota on a future trip and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We always ask for a room in a quiet location but with Domus Ciliota it really doesn't matter as...

This is a very nice small hotel on a side street near Campo San Stefano. To reach it take the water bus to San Samuele and from there it is about a three minute walk. Before going contact the hotel for directions. The rooms are comfortable, very clean, with modern bathrooms. The staff speaks English, French, German, and of course Italian. They were all very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent near St. Marks Square, the Rialto and more shopping than one could manage. It is very good value for Venice.

We stayed here for only 1 night. The room was very small but very clean. We did not have a fridge. We stayed in Oct. & the room was very warm so we turned on the air conditioning and went out to supper. When we came back 3 hours later the heat was worse than when we left. My husband went to the front desk to inquire. Apparently the air conditioning had been turned off for the year, and when you turn it on you get heat. They didn't have a fan , so we had to sleep withe window open, which had no screen, yes , we had flies buzzing during the night. But we didn't get any pigeons in our room, that was my big worry. Overall , the room was sparse but it was an old monastery . The breakfast was ok, the staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is on a tight budget, I prefer a little more space & pampering , but you get what you pay for.

Very good price for its location. Rooms are a bit spartan but clean & tidy, if you want to spend a lot of time in the hotel, why come to Venice. Super location, easily accessible from San Samuele vaporetto (no bridges). There was a fridge in the room, which is great not only for cool drinks but for looking after the insulin if you are diabetic. Breakfast was better than most in Venice & more than adequate. 10/15 minutes from San Marco, near to Academia. Have been to Venice many times. This is without doubt the best value place for us will we go back to it?? Yes please!!

Room Tip: We just enjoyed.
