Casa della Corte B&B is off a quiet courtyard between the Rialto Bridge and St Mark’s Square. There was an ATM and a small canal with gondoliers serenading passengers nearby.

The B&B is on the second floor of an apartment building. Our room was really small, but clean with a small TV but no phone. There was just enough room to walk around the bed and the wardrobe doors didn’t clear the bed. There were 2 shared bathrooms (with hairdryers but no soaps or shampoo) 10 feet down the hall. The fixtures looked new and clean although one of the bathrooms had a strong ammonia smell both days. Staff is only there for check in/out so you’ll be on your own.

The only problem we had was with breakfast. We usually don’t even bother to have breakfast at B&Bs because we’re gone before they serve it but since we slept on the plane the first night and the train the second, we figured we wouldn’t be waking up too early. When we checked in they asked to choose a breakfast time between 8 and 10. We said 8:00. No one even showed up until 8:45. We only had one night in Venice and had to catch a train at 11:23 so we wanted to get going. We waited a few minutes to see if they were bringing something to the room and then I went to the office and told her we needed to check out. To add insult to injury, when I got out my credit card, she called someone and then told us the machine was broken. We had cash but the info on the website said they took a credit card. Then I asked about breakfast and she rushed out a glass of (really good) juice and put a couple of good croissants in a paper bag for us and we hit the road.

We booked it through veniceby.com and the photos looked nothing like our room. We never received the promised email confirmation (although it did show up under their reservations online) and they did not respond to an email I sent a few days prior to our arrival. That made us a little nervous but they were ready for us when we arrived.

Saying all that, for 110EU in Venice, the place was a great deal for a convenient, clean, quiet place to sleep and bathe.

We stayed here over Easter weekend so we weren't sure what to expect but it turned out really good. The directions to the place (the office of the B & B) were confusing (but so are all directions in Venice!). The office is in a normal looking apartment building. The room was very nice and it was clean and spacious. The bathroom was very small, however, and the breakfast was an Italian sort of breakfast (toasties and jam with a croissant; juice and tea). But overall we enjoyed our stay here and we would go back.

We were disappointed with our stay at the Casa della Corte. We stayed for three nights during the New Year period. The hotel had some very positive points - it was in a great location, very close to St Marks Square, the room was cute and quaint and very clean, the shared bathroom was also kept very clean. At first we couldn't understand why it was rated a one star...

But...

The breakfast was terrible for a start. This hotel is actually advertised as a bed and breakfast so we expected a decent breakfast. On the first morning it was ok - cornflakes, toasties with butter and jams, little cakes. The second morning we were only giving cake and toasties with a jam packet that was already opened and 3/4 eaten and the breakfast came 1 1/2 hours late! On the last morning we got crackers and butter only! We were very disappointed!

Towels were not changed, even if left on the floor. The lady at reception was very rude when we checked out. Reception hours were odd and not consistent. There were people needing help for something or another and asking where the lady was...

All in all, for the price we paid we expected something much better. After reading a few reviews on this hotel, we thought it would still be an ok place to stay. However, we would strongly suggest that you find somewhere else. Everything in Venice is easy to walk to so there is no need to stay right in the hub of St Marks.

have been to "Casa della Corte" in September with my wife, it was the most amazing and romantic experience of my whole life!!! We couldn't know you can afford a so great position and a so good service for a so cheap price!!! The guesthouse is very nice and clean, the care of details is persistent in the whole property and it is really less than TWO MINUTES walking from San Marco's square, what can you pretend more!!! Our room was wonderful, with red damasks to the walls and furniture in Venetian style seven a hundred. The breakfast is served in the room, you have just to tell them at the check-in time at what time and what you want to be waked up with breakfast the followin morning , I never found a so good breakfast neither in any bigger hoteles I have been, that's life!!! And this is "only" a Bed and Breakfast!! Ra, the owner is a man so kind, he always helped us (suggesting where to eat, where to shop, etc.), he also gave us his own cell-number, I have never met a man so avaible! We indeed recommend this B&B who wants to live Venice like a true Venetian and we look foward getting back there.

I stayed there for two nights. The pension is in a small courtyard that is a little worn but the rooms are not. One thing I wasn't so happy about was that the room was advertised as having a private bathroom but this was not the case. However, in all fairness, I never saw anyone else use the bathroom and there were actually two on the floor. Bathrooms were clean; bring your own shampoo and conditioner and soap. No shower; just a tub with a moveable shower head.

It is very hard to find and the locals don't help too much. The staff is nice and the breakfast was continental, but impressive considering. Word of advice: pay attention to whether the windows are closed or not: mosquito bites abound overnight!
