I stayed in Vecellio once. My band was on a tour throughout Veneto and we had a magnificent performance in Venice that night. The concert ended late, so we were really tired.
Rooms themselves were extremely cozy but also stylish (Venetian baroque), with a fine firm bed to sleep. The location is both convenient and sacral, overlooking the San Michele island.
About the staff - all the Venetians that i spoke with told me that Matteo (the owner) is "one of the best people you will ever meet", and getting to know him personally just confirmed what I already heard. He is super-helpful when it comes to tips on how to manage your time and money in the city that he practically "owns". He is one of those people who will give you his time, effort and share the wisdom about this outstanding city - from where to eat, to what to visit. Matteo's lovely wife Beatta is also a great host and a breathe of fresh air to the whole thing.
A wonderful little hotel that worth whole lot more than money spent.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, being directly onto the Vaporetto stops makes getting around really easy and transfers to and from the airport are direct for just 15 Euro. A 5-10 minute walk takes you to the hustle and bustle of tourist Venice, but this area gives you the chance to take a breather from all of that. The rest of the area to the north is very pretty and really quiet even during the day. The staff could not have been more helpful and our room, No2 on the ground floor was more than adequate. Would return to this hotel without a second thought.

Matteo the hotel owner was most helpful , great hotel for a short break. Location was perfect everything was in walking distance & the hotel is situated right by a vaporetto stop which is the best way to reach the hotel. We flew into trevisso airport & found getting to the hotel really simple as Matteo had given us clear instructions. Would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay in Venice. Matteo was very friendly and helpful, as was his wife Beatte. She is a waitress at a nearby Restaurant( can't remember the name!) where we went for a special Birthday meal and she was so kind and helpful and the meal was wonderful.
Our room on the 1st floor had a lovely view over the lagoon and it was spotlessly clean and the maid was so pleasant. The breakfast was adequate and the coffee was lovely - just as we read on the reviews.
It was so handy that the Vaperetto stop was just outside the Hotel, we had a 72 hour pass and really recommend it.The return fare from the Airport to Fundamente Nove was 27 euros and the 72 hour water bus pass was 32 euros per person.
We think this Hotel is excellent value.
