“Everything is great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Exceptional service, great hospitality and well appointed rooms are what you'll find in this hotel. We've stayed in the month of July for 2 nights at this hotel. We've arrived a little early for our check-in (11:30am, I think) and Walter got us checked in within half hour. While we are waiting we had excellent Latte from the Kitchen. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. We were in Annexe which is just behind the main hotel. There is no lift, so if you have luggage you'll have to drag them up. Sandro has helped us with the luggage and walked the steps with my son entertaining him on the way. He's very good with kids. The room we had had a nice, clean shower and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Wifi was excellent and consistent. The safe provided in the room was small for a 15" laptop but was enough for our 10" tablet. The entire location feels secure so we didn't feel the real need of a safe.

Break fast was good with lots of options available and this was included in our room tariff. Kelly was excellent with her service and always smiling which is nice. In the annexe there is a small seating area with some books (novels, magazines etc) for your reading pleasure, if you had to stay indoors because of rain or some other reason. The hotel was in San Stae which is third stop from the Venice train station Vaporetto stop (known as Ferravia). We've taken 36hrs pass which included Grand Canal tour. This costs 10 euros extra over the normal vaporetto fare but you'll get access to the special water buses called Vaporetto Del'Arte which are mainly for tourists. These are a lot less crowded than the regular Vaporettos so we thought they are worth the 10 euro premium. Only caveat is they don't stop in every stop on the Grand canal (for example Rialto Mercato) but they stop on major destinations (Rialto, San Marco etc) so that you can get down there and take a Vaporetto (you can get on Vaporettos obviously if you have Grand Canal tour pass) to reach the destination that is not catered by the Del'Arte service.

Very close to the hotel you'll find some restaurants and a grocery store which is convenient. There are lot of tourist attractions within San Stae itself but we didn't get time to explore all. The hotel is, in our opinion, very well located and a nice base for exploring Venice.
We'll certainly come back to Al Ponte Mocenigo when we are in Venice next time.

Spent two nights here with family last week. I've visited Venice 6x since 1976 and this was easily the best hotel experience in the city. Extremely friendly, comfortable good sized rooms, nice breakfast in a courtyard garden, superb location for walking and vaparreto stop, great value. I look forward to returning. We took a water taxi from the airport - really not necessary, the airport water bus stop is 5 minutes from the hotel entrance.

This place is more a boutique B & B than a hotel, very small but well located in a quiet area of Venice, with good transport links. A limited breakfast of pastries and fruit was offered in a pretty courtyard, the cappuccino's were great ! Staff were very nice to our children. Would recommend staying here but pick your room carefully. We stayed in room 9 in the main building which although well furnished and clean, it was very dark as the high windows faced a narrow alleyway. We booked 6 months in advance for a 'superior' room so was slightly disappointed. Venice surprisingly easy to walk around and some good value restaurants nearby.

My family stayed here for three days during our trip to Venice and we enjoyed everything about this hotel.

The gentleman behind the front desk was incredibly helpful, the room was spacious and beautiful, and the food provided for breakfast was excellent.

Highly Recommended.

This hotel certainly deserves its accolades, in an expensive city it offers great value. It's in a pleasant, quiet location. My room was in the annex, on the second floor. it was a good size with high ceilings, cool tiled floors and two windows with a lovely view over gardens and (in a week where the temperature reached 30+) very efficient air-con. One of the best bits was the huge bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak after a hot day sightseeing.

My husband and I just got back from a week stay at this hotel in the junior suite, I couldn't find any faults with the hotel or the staff, the breakfast waitresses were lovely and remembered our preferences. The man at the front desk was extremely helpful with information about how to get to different places and recommended a lovely restaurant called muro which is a must! Brilliant hotel deserves at least a 3 star.

This hotel has won people choice's awards on Tripadvisor for years in a row and I can agree that they should win again! The location of this place is superb with a vaporetto stop (San Stae) just around the corner and all venetian sites also at walking distance.
The price and quality rate is without competition in a city where hotels don't come cheap. What you get for this is a wonderful and clean room with all necessities. Wifi is free of charge for the entire stay.
Breakfast is sufficient (cake, rolls, cereal, juice, coffee, tea, milk, yoghurt, cream cheese and fresh fruit salad). We like to sleep in and so the finish of breakfast at 10 a.m. felt early but even if we came in just at 10 everything was arranged for us with a smile saying that it was normal since we were in holiday.
English is not a problem for both owners and staff. They also suggested some nice spots for dinner.
It took me some time to decide on this hotel but on my next stay in Venice I would directly book this one because it is very, very good!
A last word for the friendly staff: thank you for making us feel totally relaxed. One lady at breakfast was a real sunshine (I don't know her name but she said she came from the Philipines) and she just brightened up all mornings. She said we would be back and I hope she will be proven right.

Room Tip: All rooms seem great, both in the annex and in the main building.
