My Husband and I have just returned from spending four nights at this lovely hotel. I think we stayed in what you would call the Red room number 8. Decor ornate and richly furnished. Lovely room and spacious marble bathroom. We got the Alilaguna water bus from the airport, advisable to purchase a return ticket at the airport, it does work out a few euros cheaper. We got off at San Stae and the instructions given to us by the hotel were easy to follow and we arrived with no difficulty. Breakfast was fine with lovely croissants and fresh bread rolls every morning. A choice of different coffees were offered also hot chocolate. Walter and Sandro were most helpful with advice for anything you require. Umbrellas were available if the weather was wet. No English tv channels but that didn't bother us. The restaurant Muro, which I have written a separate review on is very near and excellent also La Zucca. We went to Murano and Burano by water bus, both well worth a visit, Burano was so pretty. If we return to Venice and I hope we will, we will certainly stay here again.

We stayed here 3 nights in winter. It is very conveniently located a few paces from the San Stae vaporetta stop. The water taxi from the airport dropped us right by there and from there it was literally just about 20 steps away. Just be sure to look out for a little sign and a VERY narrow lane on the left from San Stae about elbows' width as that's the alley that leads to the entrance to the hotel.

Our room on the 3rd floor was fairly comfortable. Don't expect 5 star comfort. The bedding was not as plush as we're accustomed to, but it was adequate. It was fairly charming and tasteful, and cosy. Bring your own bedroom slippers as none was provided.

Breakfast was typical European sweet breakfast of sweet croissant, cereal, fruit and cake. The croissants were excellent, and served warm.

Service is polite and helpful. We experienced aqua alta in winter, and there were plenty of wellies provided by the hotel and good advice given on weather predictions and areas where there was high water level predicted. We took their advice, donned the wellies and were kept dry and comfortable.

Whilst not the most comfortable hotel we've stayed in, it is charming and extremely conveniently located with good service. We will stay again if we're ever in Venice.

We rented a car from Avis on our last day in Venice, and pick up was just a few vaporetta stops away from San Stae where this hotel is. Ultra convenient from the airport, and for getting out of Venice.

This was our first visit to Venice and we had read all the good reports about this hotel. Pleased to say that the hotel lived up to our expectations. Great location and great hosts. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful room and excellent breakfasts. No hesitation in recommending this place.

perfectly situated for vaperetto and good resturants very close by friendly helpful staff even in a dull rainy march an absolute pleasure to be in venice and to stay in this hotel , a couple of tips , to eat well look at least 500 metres from the main tourist sites , do try a spritz , visit the pallazo a musica for a unique opratic experience but be aware that the 8pm start makes finding a resturant difficult as many dont open till 7pm , skip murano go to burano , ciao , enjoy .
