“Great hotel in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We stayed for two nights and we had a great experie nice. The staff is extremely helpful and nice. The room is very clean and confortable. In case of acqua alta there are boots available and umbrellas in case of rain. We will repeat again next time we visit Venice.

Room Tip: Even is a 2 star hotel it better than many of 3 and 4 stars hotels in Venice.

My family and I stayed here in November of 2012. This was our first stop on our tour of Italy, and we had an amazing time in Venice. Dont be shaken by the front entrance of this B&B! You walk down a narrow alley and boom! Theres the front door. Once inside, we found a clean, beautiful and nicely decorated B&B that lives up to the Venice lifestyle. The staff was super friendly, super accommodating and breakfast was nice. The rooms are clean, very nicely furnished and comfortable. There is a beautiful courtyard outside that is enclosed, and the Rialto bridge is a short 10 minute walk. Do yourself a favor and get lost in this city. It is amazing and I would absolutely stay in Al Ponte Mocenigo again!

Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo is a quaint little hotel located just steps away from the San Stae vaporetto stop. Walking distance to St. Marks square but far enough away from the crowds and noise. The staff was wonderful. After a 10 hr. overnight flight we arrived to discover we'd given them the wrong dates for our stay, so they had no room for us the first night. They quickly found another hotel just up the street to put us for the night, for which we were grateful. They were very helpful with directions and dinner suggestions/reservations as well. Rooms are small but clean and nicely appointed. A great value for our money considering the cost of other hotels in Venice.

We stayed here for 3 nights. For the price this is an excellent hotel with an above average location. They have a very pretty & quiet open air courtyard where one can have cocktails in the afternoon. We loved this place and would not stay anywhere else.

We stayed here two nights after a two week cruise on the Celebrity Reflection and could not have been more pleased. We stayed in the main hotel and the owners could not have been more helpful with our luggage off and on the water taxi at the water door. The best thing is that the hotel is within walking distance of all the major attractions. Great breakfast and service.

While we were only able to stay 1 night on this trip, we would definitely stay again on our next trip to Venice. We had a family group of 10 and were given rooms in the new annex, which is just around the corner from the main hotel. Absolutely beautiful rooms with tall ceilings and an amazing bathroom with a deep, roomy tub.

The hotel is located just down the street from the St. Stae vaporetto stop. It's a chance to get a little bit away from the loud, touristy areas, but still be in a perfect location to reach everything within minutes. As we only had 1 night in Venice, we dropped our bags in our rooms and headed out to explore. We caught the #1 vaporetto at St. Stae and bought our 24 hours passes on board the water bus. The ride from St. Stae to St. Marks was about 30 minutes, but it was like taking a tour of the Grand Canal. So beautiful! On our way back in the evening, we stopped at the Rialto bridge/market area where we did some shopping. We could have easily walked back to the hotel from there, but since we had the 24hr pass and some physically challenged family members we just hopped on the next vaporetto back to St. Stae. There are several restaurant choices near the hotel and it was fun walking down the tiny streets to see what we would discover next. The hotel is really in a great location for those who want easy access to transportation, but want to stay in a more authentic rather than touristy area.

But the thing that really makes the hotel special is the service. We stayed the night before a major Europe-wide transportation strike. When we returned to the hotel after dinner, we were informed of the news of a strike coming the following day. As we were planning to head to Florence by train, this was nerve wracking. We went down to the front desk and the night manager looked up all the news he could find on the strike to help us figure out what to do. He found out the timing of the boat and train strikes(the boat strike started at 9am & train strike at 2pm) so that we were able to make our travel arrangements and get to Florence before the strikes started. And while we had to miss breakfast the following morning, since we had to leave early, they let us take some fruit and other snacks with us to the train station. Truly great service. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Venice and would highly recommend it to all travelers.
