“friendly and welcoming hotel in beautiful and convenient location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2011

Very friendly welcome, staff were keen to help and answer any questions. Very clean hotel, in great location next to the canal and a very short walk up from Guglie vaporetto stop. Plenty of nice places to eat nearby. Breakfast is included in price, and we didn't need to ask for 2nd cup of coffee. Wi-fi was being installed during our stay, it wasn't particularly reliable but it was free.

I chose this hotel because we (I and my adult daughter) wanted a location for a convenient in and out because as we were using Venezia as a way-station to skiing, price, and the previous comments on Trip Advisor. It is a delightful small hotel on a canal (but the front on a side alley), about a 20 minute walk (with suitcases) from the bus station in Piazzale Roma. The small room was exquisitely furnished with Venetian-style white furniture trimmed in gold (possibly also pink – can’t recall) with a nice tiled bathroom, so it would be perfect for a romantic get-away. The staff, most of whom spoke very good English, were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in a small room was just fine. An excellent value. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed here in December 2009, and there could not be a better place to stay in Venice. This hotel is one of the best hotels I have stayed in my entire life. I loved this hotel. The people were wonderful and they gave us excellent restaurant recommendations every night. The rooms were beyond my wildest dreams. I loved this hotel, and I would not dream of staying anywhere else in Venice.

This hotel was delightful! The rooms are impeccably decorated in old Venetian style, with all modern amenities. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. The owners and the staff were warm, helpful and excellent representatives of the Venetian people. We stayed for 7 days and it really felt like home to us. Would absolutely stay there again should we return to Venice in the future. (Oh, one note of warning: pack knee-high rain boots for the flooding that happens with certain phases of the moon and the tides of the ocean. The street outside the hotel and many of the streets of Venice (including those by major tourist attractions) are sometimes filled with 12" of water! We managed to purchase boots for everyone in our family for 15 Euros each, but we ruined our shoes in the process of making it to the store. Several days during our stay were dry and we were grateful -- the adventure of wading in water lost its charm quickly!)

My husband and I stayed at Ca'Dogaressa for one night. We had a wonderful time in despite of the bad weather (rain). Polo and staff were extremely helpful. Thank you for your help on tracking our lost luggage. We would definitely return here if we return to Venice. Room was very clean and breakfast was great. Nice walk from the train station.

We stayed at this hotel for one short night in December 2010. We chose the hotel because it is close to the train station and we had a late train to catch. We read positive reviews in TA and we were not disappointed.

Hotel is located on a quiet strip approx 10 mins walk from the main train station and approx 20 mins walk from the "touristy" area of Venice. We like the walk so it was not at all a problem for us. It's a lovely hotel. Our room was well furnished, clean and spacious- perfect for relaxing after a long day in Venice.

Breakfast was adequate and served in the dining room. Wi-Fi is not available but we were given a DSL cable for our computer which was fine.

The hotel staff were extremely warm and helpful. We kept our bags at the hotel after check out and were permitted to use the bathroom to freshen up upon our return.

Only complaint is that we were given a room which is immediately next to reception and breakfast room therefore quite noisy at times. As we only stayed one night it was more convenient than problematic though.

Some of the larger hotels in the centre had amazing discounts during this time of year (not much more expensive than this hotel) but Im still glad we chose this place and would stay here again!

This hotel was absolutely perfect for me and my mum. It was a short walk from the station which meant we didn't have to use the Vaporetti at all, and situated on the Cannareggio - very easy to find and lovely and quiet at night. It was very cold whilst we were there but the hotel was always warm with a very cosy atmosphere. Everything was spotlessly clean and breakfast was great - with good coffee and fresh croissants. The owner was very friendly and helpful and very complimentary about my attempts to speak Italian! I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.
