“Almost perfect!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

A fantastic little hotel just off the main tourist-strip on Cannaregio. The Hotel has gone to a lot of effort to offer an authentic Venetian experience but at an affordable price. The rooms are well appointed and immaculately clean. We booked the cheapest room available and were not disappointed; the room as a decent size, there was ample storage space, the bathroom was by far the best we had in Italy and there was even a couple of English News Channels available on the TV.
Breakfast was very simple but perfectly adequate and the pastries were very tasty - the coffee was also good. The breakfast area is very small but if it is full then there is the option to take your breakfast in your room or on the canal. The latter would have been lovely but it was raining pretty much the whole time we were in Venice.
The hotel’s location was good, a short walk from the train station and just around the corner from the shops and restaurants. Also very good for transport – there is a waterbus stop just outside the hotel (Guglie), which gets you to Murano (No. 4.2) and also to St Mark’s (No. 4.1/5.1 but via the “back route”). If you want to get a waterbus down the Grand Canal, then you can get the No. 1 from the stops at Ferrovia (train station) or S. Marcuola – both of which are a short walk away.
The hotel staff were great, very helpful and were happy to let us leave our bags under the stairs after check-out. They also offer a 5% discount for cash.
The only negative was the noise from the other rooms. Obviously the hotel is in a very old building and the insulation between rooms isn’t that great, especially from the room above. If you are a light sleeper then I recommend asking for a room on the top floor.
Otherwise, this is a great hotel and if you are on a budget then I doubt you can get more for you money in Venice! Recommended!

We stayed here for 4 nights. The price included a continental breakfast. The hotel was spotlessly clean and looked as though it had been recently refurbished as it was immaculate. Our room was a decent size with plenty of cupboards and storage space and decorated rather grandly in a venician style. It was the first hotel I can ever remember staying in where there were actually enough coat hangers in the wardrobe!! The bathroom was fitted to a high standard and cleaned every day. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. It felt like a family run place. The location was perfect as just near the Vaparetto stop for the airport and was located on a canal. You could just stroll out on a morning and wander along the canal and along to the main tourist attractions. There were also plenty of restaurants and cafes around, including a pleasant and cheap little bar just next door to the hotel. Only 2 euros for a huge Disarono! The main thing was the value for momey for this hotel. It cost us less than £40 per night each. We went at the beginning of March which is out of season, but still very cheap. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This small hotel has a great atmosphere and is located a bit off the tourist track. It is handy to the main railway station (an easy flat walk as the only bridge has no steps) and right on a canal with water bus service. It is a fairly long walk to some of the main attractions but Venice is fascinating to walk through anyway. The hotel is right on the edge of the Jewish quarter and it is nice to be in a largely residential area rather than just a tourist area. There are some very good Jewish restaurants nearby, especially Gam Gam which is in the same "street". The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the room comfortable with a good size bathroom. Breakfast was good (continental style) and they made us great coffee. The only issue is the noise from the adjoining room as we could hear their (rather loud) talking.

We chose to stay here partly because of the great reviews but also because they manage a little apartment just a few metres down the alley back from the hotel. With teenage children it is sometimes difficult for us to find the right configuration of accommodation. The apartment is a slightly strange set up but worked well for us. Off a passageway through to other little houses there are 2 doors. The first lets you into a small kitchen area on the ground floor with stairway up to the first floor. Here there is a large double bedroom and a good size single (with a 4' bed) and then up another little flight of stairs sits a small bathroom with a shower. The second door off the passage (they are both locked of course) has another bedroom with 4' bed and a tiny adjoining room with toilet and sink . It has no shower or bath so the occupant of this room would need to come down the passage and into the rest of the apartment . This was ideal for a teenage son who likes some privacy but might prove problematic for a different need (such as younger children). The apartment is brand new, it is nicely decorated and is very quiet. This is good part of town with some less touristy restaurants nearby. Also if you get the boat in from the airport it stops at Guglie vaporetta stop which is only 100 metres form the hotel. We enjoyed our stay

Only stayed in this hotel for one night, but it was everything we could have hoped for.

Hotel has very comfortable, quiet and clean rooms. Decor is wonderful and feels every bit Venetian.

Very conveniently located near Vaporetto stop 'Guglie', we caught a water bus straight from the airport to the hotel, only 15 euro each. It was just a short stroll from Guglie stop with bags in tow to the hotel entrance.

It is very easy to walk around Venice to Piazza San Marco from this hotel. Also easy to get to the railway station and Piazzale Roma to catch a bus or pick up a car.

Breakfast was divine, more than adequate continental breakfast, just sitting outside on the pavement, on a brisk morning beside the canal, watching the passing traffic.

You've just gotta love Venice !!!!!

I booked this at the last minute due to the cheap price and rave reviews. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk to the hotel from the train station, which was handy. The man who checked us in was so friendly, he carried our suitcases up the stairs, gave us advice and information on the Carnivale, and, realising we were late risers, offered to give us a wake up call when we checked out. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and very secure. It is also close to everything, which was great since you have to walk everywhere in Venice. Best hotel I have ever stayed in!

First time in Venice, Italy and found this hotel exceed my expectation. Location was very easy to find (very close to waterbus Guglie stop). The receptionist was very helpful, friendly and even upgraded our room. Breakfast was very pleasant (nice croissant with variety of yoghurts, tea selections and cereals) for a small hotel. No problem with sleeping as the room was clean. Will definitely stay in this hotel again for future visit.
