“slice of old Venice”

This gem is perfect for the single woman traveller looking for a quiet but convenient place to stay. It is a small hotel along the Rio Ca' Dolce canal, and has a cosy feel to it. The staff are wonderful, and the location near the Fondimento Nove boat stop is perfect for anyone coming by vaporetto to Venice from the Airport. It is a ten minute pleasant walk to the hotel from there. The Canareggio district has a quieter feel than the area around San Marco. You literally heave a sigh of relief walking into the Ca'd'Oro courtyard. It is tucked away, charming. Ideal respite to anchor yourself when exploring this dream city. Plenty of places to eat but I found the local hangout Tiziano, a ten minute walk along the main shopping artery, the most satisfying untouristic eating place in the area. Ca'd'Oro is central without feeling swamped. Print out a detail of this area if you plan to walk from the Vaporetto stop. As the saying goes: nothing is ever straight in Venice.

Room Tip: satisfying basic room- comfortable but snug. my room had "painterly" views- overlooking ot...

Stayed here for 2 nights and found the hotel to be a super find.It is located within easy walking distance of the Grand Canal.A good selection of reasonably priced restaurants and bars locally.
I was given a small single with en suite shower.Perfectly adequate with breakfast included.
Excellant value for money and would certainly stay again.

I stayed at this hotel while taking a trip through Italy with my mother. We had a great room overlooking one of the smaller canals. The room was much more spacious then we expected, and the beds were very comfortable after being out all day on our feet. The breakfast in the mornings was EXCELLENT! We has eggs each morning, along with bagels, pastries, fruit and yogurt. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful as well. We were met at the waterway entrance right away and our bags were brought up to our room waiting for us. Plus they always has great recommendations on where to eat depending on the type of food we were looking for. Lastly the location for us was perfect! We loved being close to a central plaza with all sorts of shops, and places to eat. Hotel grounds also has a very pretty and peaceful rooftop patio, such pretty sunset views w/ a glass of local wine. We also liked this location because it was on the line between the touristy area and the residential area. One night we made a trip away from the touristy area and found a local bar(just east). This was one of our highlights! I would highly recommend this place to stay for anyone and would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Loved how we had a higher floor with great views!

This hotel was perfect as a base for exploring Venice. Fantastic restaurant round the corner where my daughter learned to eat pizza like an Italian. Small supermarket nearby with very, very good value wine. Would definitely use this hotel again for any future visits

we stayed here for 3 days in September, 2014 and it was just fine. Lobby and breakfast area were nice and comfortable--rooms small, but had a little rooftop deck that was great for evening cocktails. The staff was really great though, and gave us very good recommendations for local restaurants, got taxis quickly and were nice to talk to.
Great location 20 mins walk from train station--but get a porter to bring your bags

The location is great - between the Rialto Bridge and San Marco, close to restaurants, shopping and water transportation. The service was excellent. Alice at the front desk was most helpful and even sent us to Grom for the best gelato in Venice! The hotel has a dock - very handy for taxi service so you don't have to drag luggage through the streets, and a lovely little rooftop terrace that we used one day for an impromptu picnic - and some great pictures!

We enjoyed the location minus the restaurant workers smoking below our window, so this kept us moving. Lovely little breakfast room and menu with automatic cappuchino, espresso maker. Nice clean rooms and very helpful hosts. We'd love to rendezvous there again someday. warmly Rob and Joanna

Room Tip: Be aware of smokers outside your window.
