We chose a small hotel deliberately and did not expect large hotel services - they emailed me before arrival to provide directions and requested our arrival time. After booking in we were given the outside door keys so we could come and go as we pleased. We had two rooms, both of which were larger than average for Venice, high ceilinged and with traditional Venetian-style fixtures and fittings including glass chandeliers. The air-conditioning was remote controlled, quiet and allowed specific temperature selection. We had a juliet balcony, so it was only possible to stand on it rather than sit out - but this is normal for Venice. It would have been better if there had been a fridge or mini-bar in the room. The double glazed balcony doors cut out what little noise there was from the street. Breakfast is served in the room and arrived promptly at our selected time - there was orange juice, tea/coffee/chocolate plus toast, croissants and bread rolls. The hotel is easy to find from anywhere in Venice - just follow the signs for the Ospedale - which is literally round the corner and has its own water bus stop.

We stayed in Venice for our 20th wedding anniversary and we are so happy that we chose Locanda SS. Giovanni e Paolo, based on excellent Trip Advisor reviews. This well-managed small hotel is spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful and ideally located. Piazza San Marco is just a few minutes' walk away, yet the hotel is thankfully located just far enough away that the night s are quiet.

We had the top floor room, furnished with a comfortable large bed and a chandelier and nightlights made of Murano glass. The bathroom was spacious, a rarity in many European hotels.

The breakfast was lovely, with coffee and warm cream, croissants and baguettes. More than ample! We also want to compliment Davide, the manager, who helped make our stay very pleasant.
Venice was our dream city and Locanda SS. Giovanni e Paolo didn't disappoint us.

Fabulous service , hospitality and proximity to all the sights we wanted to take in. Everything we wanted from a hotel in Venice was supplied together with all the local ameneties. Extremely helpful and pleasant staff. Can't praise this hotel and its location enough. Best vaporetto stop is Ospedale to avoid bridges

A small hotel/B&B but room was very clean and we had sufficient space The staff are very good and this makes the establishment. Breakfast is served in your room. Location-wise, nothing in Venice is very far away and this hotel is within walking distance to everything.
