“Perfect honeymoon hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

This was the last stop on our honeymoon Italy, and what a way to finish!

We had originally booked in to another hotel but due to a problem in the hotel we switched to Ca' Maria Adele at the last minute.

On arrival we were shown to the lounge and given some delicious refreshments while they prepared our room. The room itself was just stunning, we were upgraded to one of the suites complete with rooftop terrace, jacuzzi and living room. There was a complimentary bottle of prosecco and a little congratulations card - a lovely touch.

Throughout our stay we found all the staff very attentive and friendly - they recommended restaurants to us and arranged a gondola ride.

Breakfast was varied and a real treat having it on the terrace.

Some reviews have said that the hotel was a bit far from the centre of Venice - we really enjoyed the walk (about 20 mins) but you can get the water bus straight to San Marco in 5 minutes!

Overall I would thoroughly recommend it and it's worth the splurge for a special occasion.

No its not on the beaten track - that's why it is appealing. 20th anniversary and my wife loved it. Feels exclusive and the staff were great right down to the complimentary bubbly when they found out the reason for our stay. Love the non-overbearing staff and the seclusion of the hotel both inside and out. Yeah the communal spaces are small but why are you in them when in this hotel and in Venice!

My husband and i recently stayed here for 3 nights. From the moment we arrived we got greeted by the very attentive staff who spoke perfect english and made us feel comfortable straight away. We got upgraded to the Super Delux room free of charge. The owners spend a lot of time on the details and the service is amazing. The hotel itself feels very clean and the breakfast is most delicious. I can highly recommend this place and we will most certainly come back.

We kicked of our honeymoon here at the Ca' Maria Adele and received the warmest of welcomes from the owner - a complimentary bottle of prosecco with delightful note and a room upgrade to a "concept" room - the white one. We were psyched about the upgrade, but a bit disappointed to be on the ground floor. I'd recommend asking for any other room to get up off the main floor where there is less privacy. We also found the place a bit expensive for what we got - the room was great, but otherwise, the terrace or other shared spaces were too small to really enjoy for any extended period so it wasn't a place to comfortably hang out. The breakfast on the terrace was delicious - we enjoyed cappuccinos and yogurt and fruit. They also offered eggs and more hearty breakfasts, which we didn't try. The location was excellent for our tastes - off the main path and quiet but easy to get across the canal to the main sites via water taxi or walking down a bit to the bridge.

Room Tip: if you're going to splurge on a concept room, don't choose white - you'll end up on the...

We liked this hotel for many of the reasons others mention: exceptional service and attention to detail, well situated - off the beaten track but close to many of the beautiful parts of Venice, delicious breakfasts and quiet rooms. Ours was the "Noir Suite", a themed room which, though not necessarily the look I would have chosen, was a fun, Walter Mitty-esque change. Our room was small and did not have drawers so we relied on the ample space provided to hang our clothes up. My only critique is that the air conditioning - which did its best - didn't quite achieve the level of cooling I would like. We weren't uncomfortable, but would have welcomed cooler air. We loved walking the surrounding streets as they lacked the cloying crowds found on the St. Mark's Square side of the canal. Every walk offered a beautiful old church, views of secret gardens and possibilities for the following day.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Noir Suite ..... snug, but cozy.

I love Venice and have been coming back year after year since leaving school. The city is full of great memories and this hotel is our most regular choice, if we can get a room.

The staff have found the right balance of precision and informality that keeps you at ease but gets what you need done. The surroundings are both classic and contemporary, except the themed rooms. Not tried one of these yet.

To me, the location is perfect; to be woken by the bells of Salute is about as good as it gets. Also, for the hoards to get there from St Mark's on foot requires a good walk via the Academia bridge, or a Veporetto / tragetto, which is a good defence.

If you stay here, take a short walk to the new contemporary Triton Palace hotel. It's pretty amazing for cocktails on the terrace.

My first trip to Venice... my birthday present from my wife and a total surprise!

We arrived at the hotel some 40 mins after getting on a water taxi (One of the best airport transfers I have ever experienced) and the first impression is that the interiors have incredible style. The furnishings are amazing and the staff were exceptionally helpful, nothing was too much of a problem from suggesting and booking the restaurants too organising a private Gondola ride with a chilled Prosecco.

The room we stayed in (312) was of the same quality inside done out in rich chocolate browns with a staircase leading up to the well equipped bathroom (No bath but fabulous shower)

The location was just right and on the slightly quieter shore of the Grand Canal but very close to Traghetti and Vaporetto points which take you to St Marks Square in 1 stop.

It really is a tiny boutique hotel, the lounge is just enough for a large family to sit or 2 couples, the terrace is pretty but small. There is no real dining room so breakfast can be served in your room (first morning and not really big enough for a table), on the terrace (2nd morning) or in a breakfast room (which wasn't really that inviting). The breakfast itself was wonderful with a really good choice and ready at an exact time and place to suit you.

All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short romantic break as it is all about the decor and the style. However Venice is all about the views and that's what this hotel sadly lacks. Although it is very close to the Grand Canal there are no direct views and the terrace unfortunately looks onto the wall of a building next door. We did have a drink at the Gritti Palace and although the prices were extortionate, we felt it was worth it for the shear pleasure of spending an hour right on the Grand Canal.

So as a base for your activities it was incredibly stylish, well located and almost perfect but if seeing the sights from your hotel is important then you may want to look at somewhere else.
