“great wine bar with Italian tapas (yes its coming back)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Went for Dinner with visiting family during stay in Venice. Very Good Wine bar and excellent choices. Decided to try Venetian style Tapas and pizza for younger ones. Food was great and exceptional service. Perfect for the evening and its not far from the Rialto but you have to do little search as it's in one of those alley way This is a new venture started by owner it seems who sold his previous place on the island

“Excellent in every respect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

We visited Venice for a few days in September intending to try out the wine bars. Some of these were excellent but very small with limited seating. This is a small restaurant that combines the wine bar experience of italian tapas with a more traditional menu. It is really, really good!

Location - we went from Rialto up Rue Oresi and onto Ruga Ravano. Go to Camp St Aponal and look to your left, there is a shop selling water and sweets etc. the two openings to the restaurant are down the side streets either side of the shop. On Calle di Sbian Chesni there is some outside seating. It looks like a long and rather confusing walk on the tourist map but isn't.

Food - We were so impressed we ate here for two days. The chichetti for lunch was very fresh and you can watch it being prepared. For the first dinner we started with cocktails ( tasty and potent!) then we asked them to make us a starter for two of marinated vegetables - this was no problem - I had a pasta arribetta and my wife a beef carpaccio , both were excellent. Tiramisu delicious. The menu changed on friday night to reflect what was purchased from the market - we both had bruschetta to start which was easily the best we have ever had in Italy followed by gnocchi with seafood. I don't usually have sea food but made an exception here, it was incredibly tasty and fresh.

Service - the staff were lovely, pleasant and friendly, especially Chiara who worked in the evening.

Wine - a very good selection, staff are knowledgable and gave good advice.

Atmosphere - a good mix of locals and tourists, even some gondoliers!

Value - we had two lovely dinners for just over £100. Very good value to me.

The staff make a real effort to make you feel at home and the food and drink are both first class. Well worth a visit for a quick or leisurely lunch and dinner

“The best food and drink in Venice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

Amazing service, great food, and naturally great wine. Very classy bar, amazing décor, with a beautiful bathtub at the center of the bar, full of delicious wines. The service was amazing, they are so welcoming and make you feel like you are a member of the family. One of the customer was even invited behind the bar to take a photo with the owner and the beautiful waitresses. Definitely can't recommend a better place in Venice to go try some delicious food and amazing wine!

“A Must Visit in Venice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Looking for something away from the tourist traps? Something with quiet outside seating and no crowds? Looking for really fresh Italian food and excellent service? This is your place! Second trip to Venice, we just stumbled upon all'Amarone while we tried to escape the cruise ship tourists. The service was friendly and helpful, and the food really was fresh and well seasoned. Better by far than anything along the grand canal. Definitely recommend! Ps. You can not find better prices, for this quality of food anywhere in Venice!
