Description: Historical restaurant. We are present in Venice since half of the XIX century. Our owner has fifty years of experience in restaurant field and we are proud to serve our food selecting it daily. Most of the ingredients are coming from our region, in order to respect the short production and distribution chain and do not need the conservation of them. Our fish is selected daily, through the deep knowledge of our chef, that is responsible also for the meat. The pasta is home made. Our pizza-maker kneads the dough daily, every early afternoon, in order to respect an high quality standard and the right timing for the leavening. Everything is completed by a wonderful view over the Giudecca's canal, where, in the period between april and october (due to weather condition), it is possible to be seated open-air, just close to the canal.

“Superb. Good Value for Money Also.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014

We recently visited Venice for a four day break staying at the Molino Stucky Hilton. During the course of the stay we visited four restaurants located on Giudecca island, namely the Trattoria Al Cacciatori, Trattoria & Pizzaria Do Mori, Bar Cafeteria La Palanca and Ostaria Ae Botti. I rate theses restaurants in the order of recording and will review each one under their own individual listing.
This restaurant serves as both a trattoria and pizzeria and is therefore not appointed as classically as Al Caciatori and presents a more informal dining experience. The food however is of the highest of standards and having seen the pizzas being offered to other diners we also decided to try the pizza chef’s skills which were clearly on view. Before this visit I would have questioned any suggested differential between various pizzas but I am now firmly of the opinion that the Italian version takes some beating. A variety of fish dishes are also offered by this restaurant and I tried a mixed fish ribbon pasta entrée which was the best pasta dish that I have had for some considerable time. The house carafe wine whilst being unremarkable was perfectly drinkable. The overall cost of five courses including pre-dinner drinks at this establishment came to €62.50 and again excluded any service charge. I found this to be a thoroughly enjoyable restaurant with good quality and valued food with a very warm atmosphere. I have hesitation in recommending this restaurant to readers.

“Good option close to the Hilton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

I ate here with my teenage son three times during our recent stay in at the Hilton just down the street. This is very comfortable restaurant / pizzeria. The food and service was good and the prices that are not expensive. House wine served by the carafe is very reasonable. If you are looking for a pleasant place to eat on Giudecca this is an excellent choice.

“Reasonable food and a reasonable price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

One of the better restaurants on Giudecca - when you can get a table! It does get very busy so if you are planning on visiting in the evening, do try and make a reservation. This is a good place for families as they cater well for children.

“Great Pizza!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014

Visited here tonight with my wife after arriving very soaked through at the nearby Hilton. We came here simply because it was literally the closest decently reviewed restaurant to the hotel. We were very happy with the pizzas, some of the best we've had in Italy.

I had the speck pizza, which was simply marvellous and my wife had a buffalo mozzarella, basil and salami pizza. Both were great, and the speck was trimmed and cut to order (and was wonderfully dry). The guy they had making the pizzas was a true artist. Hoping to revisit again during this trip!

“Inviting and friendly with very good food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

We have eaten here with good friends every time we travel to Venice and it is well worth the vap ride even in acqua alta! Located on Giudecca, a # 2 Vap from San Marco, the staff is friendly and welcoming. The menu offers a variety of fresh local seafood and also a varied selection of beef and veal with Venetian specialties. The seafood risotto is the best we have had in Venice. The puffed, baked bread served hot from the oven is a treat. The grilled shrimp, veal and beef were very good and the seppia with polenta good. The house white and red wine went well with our dinners. Our dessert was a whipped lemon ice with prosecco and vodka--a drinkable dessert and great finish to a delicious, relaxed dinner. We'll be back!

Dear customers,

what can I answer to a comment like yours? I think that only a thank you would be not enough. But I do not have other words. I appreciate that you liked all the efforts we daily make on being able to serve the best quality we can. We are very happy you liked our fish, that is hard to be prepared in a very good way. This is a truly appreciate confirmation of our chef's abilities.

The drink you had as a dessert is called "sgroppino" that in venitian dialect means something that helps you to digest. The man who prepare it, our owner Nedis, started his career when he was only a child at the Harry's bar, maybe that's the reason why you liked it so much.
Thank you again.
