“Outstanding boutique hotel. Wonderful location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

A last minute decision to spend one night in Venice, we quickly deferred to TripAdvisor and we're grateful for other's recommendation of this beautiful new hotel. Easy to find, a great location to San Marco and the Rialto Bridge, and most importantly a beautifully designed hotel. You can tell great attention was given to every aspect of the design of common areas and the rooms. The service was warm, friendly and provided excellent restaurant recommendations as well. We've travelled extensively through Europe and this was one of the best breakfast spreads we've seen. Plus we found out after breakfast our very attentive waiter was actually the owner.
We look forward to our next, longer trip to Venice and a stay at Corte di Gabriella again.

This hotel is run by a husband & wife team. They've obviously take, great pains to decorate the rooms & to create a comfortable ambience. The breakfast was quite amazing in terms of spread & quality considering that there are only 10 rooms of guests. The staff were very attentive & friendly.

A short walk from the San Angelo water bus station, it is located conveniently from the two main tourist attractions ; Rialto & St mark's square. However, there's a bridge to cross from the station to the hotel which can be challenging for older folk with big luggage.

The rooms were nicely decorated & the rain shower was excellent. Just a few small grouses; the room was a little dim, the TV was too small & too far from the bed & there was no proper shampoo in the bathroom. But no bother, I bought a bottle of shampoo from a nearby supermarket for 3 euros & didn't watch much TV anyway because everything was in Italian.

Overall our experience was excellent & we would definitely stay at this hotel if we ever return to Venice.

As most know, Venice is a large tourist trap in all dimensions. Yet it is so beautiful it demands a visit - and finding proper accomodation can be challenging at the very least: hotels and B&B alike are all insanely priced and often poorly managed.

Corte di Gabriella is a pleasant surprise: extremely well kept, beautifully decorated, friendly and elegantly managed, and at a very reasonable pricepoint when considering a Venice scale. Top marks for the excellent breakfast in the charming courtyard and for the reception staff, always helpful. As a bonus, it is also very well located, some 5 minutes of a (complicated) walk to San Marco and a two-minutes walk, feasible with heavy luggage if necessary, from the Vaporetto stop at Sant'Angelo.

It is clear that this little hotel, only 10 rooms, is a project of passion for its owners. Every detail is meticulously attended too and the service is second to none. You get the impression that they know you personally, i.e., nobody ever asks for your room number, they know, and nothing is too much trouble.

All rooms artfully blend traditional architecture, including the high ceilings, with the very latest technology.

The position of the hotel is very central, and so ideal as a base for sightseeing.

We did not eat lunch or dinner in the hotel, I'm not sure if this is even served, there is little need given the plethora of restaurants within a 100 metres or so. Breakfast though is superb.

The only possible negative is that the hotel is not immediately on a canal and therefore does not have its own water taxi access. This means that you have to carry your bags a couple of hundred metres. Is this a big deal?

Room Tip: If you are coming here on a honeymoon or similar special occasion some of the rooms have round beds...

The hotel is less then a year old and with only 10 rooms it feels as if you are staying at a private villa. The owners are very hands on and are there to help with your every need. The design is excellent. They spent a year painstakingly renovating old villa and left original touches mixed in with the modern. The rooms are spotless and very well appointed with the best shower heads that I have yet to find in europe. The breakfast buffet is lovely with great coffee. Great location and friendly staff. I would go back. Only caveat, the rooms in the lowest category are very small so worth paying a little more for a bigger room.

Room Tip: the rooms in the front can be dark and noisy. ask for a canal facing room

My wife and I were challenged to find a hotel in Venice without dated and heavy decor, but instead a charming boutique with a modern flare. That is why we were so pleased to come across Hotel Corte di Gabriela. The pictures do not even do this place justice. The hotel is elegantly decorated and the rooms are spacious and welcoming. Corte di Gabriela could not be in a better location, and the staff could not be more welcoming.

Our time in Venice was short, and we wish that we could have spent more time in the hotel. We will return to Corte di Gabriela the next time we are in Venice, and would recommend to anyone!
