“A delightful find in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Stayed in June and the weather was perfect. Hotel Moresco is a home away from home. From the warm greeting and cool drink on arrival while we were checked in, to the trendy comfortable rooms (ours had a view over the canal), complimentary canapés in the evening, to the sun filled garden, we loved staying here! This has the owners' touches and personality. Care and details make this a very special place to say.

My husband and I stayed in teh Scribe's suite for a week in March 2013. The room was spacious with an incredible balcony overlooking a quaint private garden. The service was exceptional and truly caring staff. I am beyond impressed and would highly recommend this fantastic hotel. Breakfast was expansive with an enormous variety of hot and cold items, with the option of hot eggs cooked to order. We felt at home and enjoyed talking to the staff and appreciated their dining and tour recommendations. We also met the owner who was very involved in ensuring the guests' enjoyed their visit. We had a wonderful time; in large part due to the comfortable stay we had at the Hotel Moresco!

Room Tip: Recommend the Scribe's suite for the balcony!

This hotel is not really near San Marco - it is a few minutes walking distance from Piazzale Roma
Don't worry about the location, it is very easy to walk to almost anywhere in Venice - getting lost in the streets and you'll find gem.

The personalised service started right at the door - the check in process was done in a private setting, they complete the paperwork while you enjoy the beauty of the study and a glass of Prosecco.

Rooms were nicely furnished, a mixture of classic decor and modern bathroom.

Breakfast was perfect. The spread was of course smaller compare to international brands, but it was all done with so much care.
You could tell right away the ingredients were of good quality - it's such a delight.

Service in this hotel is a big plus, very friendly and helpful staff made you feel so much at home.

In terms of cost, they're slightly cheaper than the popular ones near San Marco, which makes this hotel even more attractive!
There's no doubt I would recommend this hotel to anyone who're travelling to Venice.

This was the first of several hotels in our recent trip and it certainly set the standard for the rest of our time away. The location was wonderful - so close to the Grand Canal but set back just so it was a bit quieter at night. The staff were so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel itself was just beautiful and the views from the room were stunning. The decor was absolutely beautiful without being too modern or too old world. Breakfast was included every morning and was both substantial and full of choices. Overall a fantastic experience - I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know going to Venice

We stayed in this amazing hotel in June 2013. This hotel was perfect in every sense.

Location: short walk to bus station / train station and airport taxi stop. You don't want to be dragging suitcases in Venice.
Its also away from the noise but yet St mark's square is a 25 minute walk. Hotel gives you free maps. You should try taking the side alleys , you do get lost but that's part of the fun here!

Property: Room was perfect. climate controlled air conditioner. Bed was very comfy. Bathroom was very modern and good. Lounge/ bar area, nice to unwind. They have Sky Sports!
Food: The best breakfast I have had in any hotel! bespoke eggs and bacon! fruits . full buffet breakfast and very tasty. you can tell its not cheap. They also serve hors d'oeuvres in the evening all free on the house

Staff: They make this hotel what it is. Friendly, on hand to help. Fabio/ Alex/ Lorenzo and the rest of the team do an excellent job.

In summary this hotel has set the bar for any other We will be staying in.

Times have changed; the automatic search for five star properties is over. Our previously favorite Venetian hotel was closed for renovation so we decided to see what other travelers were talking about. The Hotel Moresco ranked high on the list of favorites in Venice. After checking the website for deals and yes, the Moresco does offer "specials". If you are sure of your plans, you can take a less expensive "Pay Ahead" option which lowers the price significantly. While not exactly cheap, unless you call 275 Euros inexpensive (at the time of our visit in May, about $363 dollars) a stay at the Moresco which included breakfast is much less pricey than the better-known properties.

Part of the reason for this lower cost must be that the Moresco doesn't have a water landing. That's a drawback in this city, but the hotel offers an ingenious solution--a reasonably priced private taxi from the airport to the central plaza. From there, the driver takes your bags and leads you to the hotel, several bridges away. When it's time to leave, the process is reversed. The driver arrives at the hotel and escorts you to his car, a late model Mercedes in our case.

Let's talk about the hotel. Newly renovated in the Venetian style, the Moresco had the shiny walls, the multicolored lamps and decorations that would not have been out of place in an earlier century. In this case, every artifact, every cloth, every surface was clean and polished. Nothing frayed, nothing out order and in the rooms, everything worked.

Breakfast only is offered but a full bar is available and every couple of hours, as if by magic, new pastries and fresh fruit appear on the sideboard.

For us, it's always about the service. The staff at the Moresco is perfect. Kindness, knowledge, and attentiveness made staying at the Moresco feel like we were spending a weekend in a lovely town home where no wish was ever ignored or denied.

Room Tip: Look at the website before choosing; this is Europe. Rooms are smaller than in the US so if size is...

This hotel is in the perfect location for 3 reasons: 1. it is walking distance to P. le Roma where the buses connect to the airport, this cannot be underrated when you consider your luggage and that Venice is a walking city. 2. Since the hotel is away from the main touristy centres it is much quieter in terms of noise and crowds. 3. Walking is the best way to see Venice! All sights can be reached on foot and along the way you get a real sense of Venetian life and many photo opportunities! The rooms here are beautiful, we couldn't have asked for more. Service was also great. The staff at the front desk are always willing to help and will make restaurant reservations for you. We wouldn't stay anywhere else!
