“Strategic place, nice rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2012

We stayed three nights in a confortable triple room in january 2012. It is a confortable hotel with good and new facilities, a nice staff and a good breakfast. One of the staffs who works in the reception in the morning is particularly helpfull.

Due to its superb localization between San Marco and Rialto and its quality we sure would return. Through a balcony near the reception you can even see and touch the gondolas which pass by.
It is always nice to have a good place to rest after many hours walking through Venice.

I went to this hotel with my wife during 4 days in January 2012. It was such a good place to stay for those 4 days. The hotel is just between Rialto Pont and Saint Marc Place. It is only 3 minutes to go to those places. The entery of the hotel is so luxury and rooms are well organized and nice. There are some details which are bad as painting on room wall, floor are sometimes a little dirty but the room is clean and beds are so comfortable. Bathroom is clean an nice with bathtub and shower.
People working in the hotel are very nice and they give good explanations to visit Venise. But you will discover when you arrive at the hotel that you have to pay 8€ per day and per person by cash at the end of your journey.
You can enjoy the spa and and training space which are clean and nice.
If you go to the hotel during a low season you can ask a standard room with nice view and bathtub and you may have a Deluxe Room for the same price. It is what happened to us.
The breakfast is not extraordinary but the price is included with the room so it is good.
But remember that if you have a view on water, you will hear noise from boats which works at 5 or 6 in the morning so close your window.
Moreover, it is nice to be at the second or third floor because you will have a better view on the sky.
Enjoy venise...

Stayed here for a new year's break in December 2011. good sized rooms for a crowded city centre hotel, spotlessly clean, everything worked and staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Excellent breakfast buffet and the sister hotel provided a quality meal for the new year's Eve celebrations. Pricey, but fair value for this level of quality.

We stayed at Deluxe triple room for four nights. The hotel location is just great! It is modern and very clean. The room and the bathroom were both large.

We travelled with 3-year-old boy. When we arrived the room, there was a small bathrobe on the extra bed with bed rail. It's really sweet to see this. We love this hotel very much and will recommend it to our friends.

This hotel is not cheap but for the extremely expensive Venice standards it represents great value. The location is perfect (5 minutes from St Marks and a bit more for Rialto), the rooms are huge (we got a triple room as we took with us our 6yo daughter) and quite luxurious and clean, the breakfast is reasonable and there is even a small spa (sauna, jacuzzi and steam bath). The staff are personable and helpful. The one major disappointment relates to the spa as you can only use it by reservation and then only for 30 minutes (!) each time which is patently too little time.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2011

We stayed at Palace Bon Vecchiati last December,2011, before boarding the Star Princess in its Trans Atlantic cruise, from Venice to Rio. It's not the same hotel we've been in, last year, and we were very satisfied with this change.

The Palace Bon Vecchiati was a wonderful choice, in many ways. First of all, it has been totally refurbished. Rooms are... roomy, with modern furniture and clean decoration. We got a mini-suite, with a view to the rear "street", which allowed us to see many gondolas passing by, many of them with singing gondolieri. If you come from Marco Polo airport by watertaxi, the hotel features a private dock, which is very convenient. But, if you prefer to come by Vaporetto, there's another nice feature: the hotel location.

Palace Bonvecchiati is located at Calle dei Fabri, which runs from Rialto neighborhood to St. Mark's square. Rialto bridge is one of the famous Venice attractions, and is also one of the Vaporetto's stops. From there to the hotel it's a short, almost-straight walk, without any bridge to cross. St. Mark's Basilica, at St. Mark's square, is Venice main attraction. The hotel sits half way, from Rialto to St. Mark's square. Shopping is at hand, and so is Hard Rock Cafe.

Hotel staff is very handy and nice. They provided us with all sort of information we needed, from store locations to Vaporetto schedule. The daily rate includes breakfast, with breads, cheese, cold cuts, jelly, eggs, cereal, fruits, juice and cakes. It's a small buffet, but we could allways find good choices for the meal. Everything is fresh and tasty. Buffet staff is also very nice. The hotel doesn't feature a restaurant, but we didn't feel the need, for there's plenty of good options in Venice, from pizza to five-course meals.

We surely recommend Palace Bonvecchiati and we would come back.

One final word: there's another hotel, very close to this, called Bonvecchiati (without PALACE). This review covers only Hotel Palace Bonvecchiati. We know nothing about the other one.

From December, 4th, before going on a cruise, we spent 4 nights at this excellent hotel. It's a four star hotel, well located, totally refurbished with contemporary furniture. If you like clean and modern decoration it's the place to go.
The staff is very attentive, handy and gave us excellent suggestions for dining. The most important (we already knew) was the "Bistrot de Venise", almost facing the hotel.
Breakfast was fair, with juices, cereals, scrambled eggs (no more choice of eggs), cold cuts and breads.
Location was unbeatable. Just five minutes walking to San Marco square and all stores - from Prada, Gucci, Versace etc to street vendors…
We've got an executive room, facing the Canal. I'll, for sure, return to this hotel, next time in Venice!
