This review is for Hotel Atlantide located at Calle della Misericordia 375/A. Venice, Italy. p. +39 041716901.
Well, this was our third nightmare story in a row as far as finding hotels in Italy! OMG! finding the hostel in Rome was a nightmare, finding the hostel in Florence was super hard, and this hotel was NOT the exception! Just like with all the previous hostels, we had to start asking people around once we left termini with all our luggage. People was directing us in different directions, which was extremely annoying!!! finally, I stopped at one of the places selling food, and asked a lady about where the street "Calle della Misericordia" was located, and she asked what hostel was I looking for, when I told her "Atlantide", she told me to follow her, and we did. She took us to an office, where we were supposed to check in. If it was not because I asked this lady and she was kind to walk us all the way to this office to check in we would have been SCREWED!!! why don't these people specify these kind of things on their websites?!?!? I mean, how do they expect people to know???? I don't get it!!!. The check in office has a glass door and is in a second floor with NO LIFT! the lady spoke ok English though, and was nice. The office was quite nice as well. She did not let us pay with a credit card for the room, we had to use our cash. The office is located half a black away from the actual hotel place. And the hotel and office are conveniently located about 3 blocks away from termini. You actually don't have to go through any bridges or anything to get to it. They have someone in the reception office 24/7.
After checking in at the office, a lady walked us to the hotel complex which was about half of a block away from the check in office. Again, NO LIFT! No lock outs, they gave us the key to our room, and to the hotel so we could go as we pleased. No wifi though!!! at least not free!!! the wanted you to pay like 5 euros for half hour of wifi usage or something ridiculous like that!!! Up until this point, every other hostel we have stayed in Italy had free wifi!!. There was a TV but you had to pay a 50 euro down payment to use it, which they would refund back to you after checking out. RIDICULOUS!!. The rooms though were extremely NICE!!! good size, clean, very stylish and they seem very new. Nice spacious bed! very very nice bathroom too with nice clean shower and hot water that does not run out!
There were no common microwaves or fridges though, so we could not go for food to a market and then bring it with us to the hostel. With all and all, this hotel was quite cheap, and although they didn't want to hook people up with amenities, the rooms are very nice, and the place is well located. Just be aware of the work is going to require to find it!!... The room was warm, we did not have any problems as far as heating was concerned.
I would stay here again.

Thank You for sharing your experience here on TripAdvisor.
We reading carefully about your adventure to make check in at the hotel, but allow us to underline that, inside the booking sites, is specified that the Hotel Atlantide's reception is closed during the Winter season, so the check in is made at Antica Casa Carettoni, just one hundred metres from the entrance of Atlantide: we are sorry if this episode brought you an uneasy, but we see that it hasn't ruined at all your stay.
In fact we read with pleasure your appreciation for the room assigned to you, comfortable and clean.
Because the Hotel Atlantide, as you rightly noticed, doesn't attract its customers with useless amenities, while instead assures those things which are important for a nice stay: the comfort, the warmth, the courtesy, the functioning facilities, an excellent cleanness of all the spaces, a perfect location for who wants to visit Venice.
Moreover, the little contribution for the wi-fi depends to the extremely convenience of our offers, which guarantee exactly what you book (and the gratuitousness of wi-fi isn't written anywhere).
Thank you again to have choosing us, we are looking forward to host you another time at the Hotel Atlantide.
