We stayed at Foscari Palace 27th June - 4th July 2006 for our honeymoon. We found Foscari spotlessly clean, staff polite, helpful, fully air conditoned - a welcome relief from the summer heat. Our room faced a building which was being renovated, the builders were present during the day, but as we were out sightseeing during the day it was not a problem to us at all. Breakfast was fantastic, a help yourself buffet consisting of fruit, croissants, sliced meats, cheeses, cereals, and/or cooked breakfast. Two or three evenings during our stay cocktails and entertainment were laid on. The hotel was situated very conviently near to the Rialto bridge, with a 10 min walk via major shopping area to San Marco or in the opposite direction to the train/ bus station. With a water bus stop on the grand canal just round the corner, and a gondola able to take you across the Grand Canal literally on the doorstep of the hotel we felt the location was perfect.
It was only rudness of three guests in pursuit of checking their emails on thier laptop during an hour of muscial entertainment one evening which annoyed us. Otherwise Foscari....we loved it.

This is truly a five star property. I was on holiday with two teenagers and a single mom this trip. The staff was helpful and accurate with all recommendations. We stayed in the Junior Suite Gonzaga. We truly were in a palace. There was fresh fruit and water in our room upon arrival with crisp clean robes and slippers. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The staff provided excellent service every minute of the day. The rooftop terrace was magical. The water taxi was right outside the hotel and was convenient and easy to use. When booking through their website, I got immediate responses and information on all questions asked. I hope to return with my husband.

Finished off our tour of North Italy with a couple of nights at this hotel. Took a water taxi from Marco Polo airport (90 euros) pricey but what an entrance to Venice. Extra plus to this is that the driver knows exactly where to take you and you step of the boat directly into the entrance hallway of the hotel. Staff are very helpful. We had booked two rooms, one suite with terrace (no canal view) and one double room with balcony. They were both excellent. The suite had an extra living area and a very private terrace with furniture and parasol. The bathrooms in both rooms were fabulous. The hotel was placed beside a water bus stop and easy access to Rialto bridge and St Marks Square. A wonderful end to our holiday.

My wife and I stayed at the Foscari Palace at the beginning of August 2006 for 5 nights. We arrived at the hotel's private landing by water taxi from the airport (the fare of 90 euros was well worth it).
Our first impressions of the hotel were very positive. The reception area was immaculate and the receptionist professional and courteous. In fact we found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful but discreet and not 'in your face' all the time which we appreciated.
Our room was on the second floor overlooking the small 'street' in front of the main door. We were a bit concerned that it was directly opposite a building which was being renovated but the workman didn't arrive until 8am and even then any noise was barely audible because of the shutters and double glazing. As for the room itself, it was excellent! It was spacious and very well appointed with everything a traveller might need and the beds were some of the most comfortable that I have ever slept on! The bathroom continued this theme and was very well laid out. I had read in earlier reviews that the shower was complicated to use but if you could turn on the tap at the washbasin you could use the shower, one control turns on the water and adjusts the temperature and the other directs it to one of the 4 differents jets, it was great fun to try them all.
The hotel is in a great postion for exploring Venice within easy walking distance of all the sights and also for getting away from the tourist areas and wandering around the quieter areas. I would recommend buying a 3 day pass for the vaporetto which we found very handy for getting around the city as even when we hadn't a clue where we were we were never far away from a stop to get back to somewhere familiar. Will we return to Venice? - Yes without a doubt, will we stay at the Foscari Palace again? - Yes most definitely, would I recommend it to my friends ?- Yes without hesitation (but only if I was sure that my room was already booked :-) ).

We planned our first trip to Venice, and I wanted it to become something special. After lengthy research online about the Venice hotel landscape, I booked a Superior Double room at the Foscari Palace for a reasonable price. We stayed two nights and enjoyed a very warm welcome - friendly and helpful staff, great room with personal welcome note, nice balcony with Canal view (sideways). The hotel is wonderfully renovated and has a phantastic rooftop terrace, which proved to be the perfect location when I proposed to my fiancé. We were lucky to be the only hotel guests on the terrace at that time, and it was a wonderful experience. Enjoy the romantic stay at this great hotel.
