“Wonderful 3 night stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

We truly enjoyed our 3 night stay here! Lovely, impeccable accommodations. Our only disappointment was that they could not accommodate our request for a canal view. But they did upgrade us to a beautiful jr. suite since Room with a canopy bed was so romantic.

We came in by train and were delighted to find that our hotel was right across the bridge. Staff was extremely helpful with directions on taking the shuttle to the hotel. Was so easy and saved us lots of Euros! Thanks!!!

Great breakfast in the morning with attentive staff jumping at the chance to bring me my morning cappuccino. Also gave some nice dinner recommendations.

Overall I don't think we could have stayed at a nicer place for location, value and level of the accommodations. A winner!!!!

Room Tip: Book early if you are traveling at a busy time if you would like to get a canal view. Although the o...

We stayed here with 4 couples both pre and post cruise and I'm happy to say they all loved my choice! The service was outstanding (a very special thanks to Francesca!) both in advance, with quick and helpful information, and during our entire visit. They provided great directions, restaurant recommendations including requested reservations, taxi reservations, and even took our luggage up to our rooms. We felt as if they just couldn't do enough for us. The room was lovely and clean, the location wonderful for access into Venice, the cruise terminal and the airport. The only reason for the dip in rating for value is the cost of Venice hotels across the board. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a very comfortable hotel right on the Grand Canal, in the Santa Croce Section of Venice. Our room was a good size--a balcony would have been nice, but we spent a lot of time watching the boats on the canal. The staff were wonderful--they could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was lovely---we were able to sit outside--and the cappuccinos were outstanding. The major sights were an easy and entertaining vaporetto ride away. It was also possible to walk to them. There are a number of very good restaurants in the area which are less touristy than the ones near Piazza San Marco. This hotel is an excellent place to stay in Venice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the Grand Canal. It is worth it!

We stayed here for one night per-cruise last month. We loved our room which had a view of the Grand Canal. The only thing that would have made it better is if it had a balcony that we could have sat out on and people watched while enjoying a glass of wine. The location is perfect for those that like to walk and explore on their own. Getting from the airport via bus only required a short walk over 2 small bridges and walking to the people mover was quite easy as well. It's about a 30 minute walk to San Marco Square as well. The staff was very knowledgable and gave us great directions and recommendations. Don't miss the breakfast it exceeded our expectations.

We stayed with friends on the 18th & 19th May at the Hotel Antiche Figure and had a wonderful stay. On arrival we were asked if we wanted to upgrade our rooms to canal facing rooms. We jumped at this opportunity and were delighted with our beautiful room which also had a balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. All the staff at this hotel are extremely friendly and very proficient. They are a credit to this little gem of a hotel and we would not hesitate to return. I stay at many hotels when I travel away on business and this hotel easily beats many of the five star hotels I have stayed in. Many thanks indeed to all the staff at the Hotel Antiche Figure for a wonderful and very memorably stay.

Room Tip: Definitely upgrade to the canal facing rooms.

When planning out a 10 day tour of Italy with 2 friends, at first we were not even sure we could afford to go to Venice because so many hotels were sooo expensive, but decided to splurge and make the trip anyway. We found this hotel that had amazing reviews and was reasonably priced (at least compared to other Venice hotels). We arrived on the fast train from Rome and I had read in advance how daunting those stairs on the bridge could be, but we hauled our bags over and easily made it to the hotel within a few minutes. People wait at the bridge and offer to carry your bag for you for 2 euros, an offer we took them up on the way back to the train station for our departure.

Upon check-in, we did splurge for the canal view room that they offered to upgrade us to. We woke up to a beautiful clear day and a view of the canal and Alps in the background. We had 3 beds in the room , as requested. The room was bright, with windows on 2 sides that opened, clean, had instant coffee in the room, a fridge, a vanity that made 3 girls getting ready a lot easier, and a pretty spacious bathroom. Though it wasn't very hot in Venice while we were there, we did use the air conditioning and it worked great. The decor was charming and old- fashioned (in a good way). My only complaint was that the shower was a little tight if you put the curtain in the shower with you, which you had to do to avoid getting water all over the floor, but I wasn't expecting huge bathrooms in Italy. It was also very nice that our bathroom had 2 sinks.

The staff was super friendly and so helpful. One of the nicest things they did, after we had checked out, was bring down a sweater that my friend had left hanging in the closet. We had checked our and left our bags at the hotel, while we went on a gondola ride, and the housecleaning people had found the sweater and brought it down for her.

We had breakfast at the hotel both mornings and it was great with fresh-made cappuccinos and typical of the assortment of foods we found at other hotels throughout Italy (pastries, pineapples, blood oranges, apples, breads, granolaly cereal, orange juice). We also enjoyed some wine out in front of the hotel, which was very nice. Our first night, we got in late and asked if we could take some wine to our room, which was a nice way to relax after a tiring trip so far.

The best tip they gave us for getting around was follow signs to the Rialot bridge when going into the heart of the city and then change to St. Marks's signs (if that is how you are going). Then, on the way back to the hotel follow signs for the Rialto bridge, then once across the Rialto bridge you can follow signs to the train station which will you lead you back to the hotel.

Stayed here last week. The location is the best in Venice for the traveler, right on the grand canal and opposite the railway station entrance. 5mins from bus terminal.Follow signs for st marks to get into city, signs for station takes you back to the hotel.
Staff are VERY helpful and knowledgeable about the area and even allowed us to use the office computer to contact out travel company/family when our flight was canceled. They made all phone calls for us without charge even though they were very busy. Rooms are of a good size and comfortable.Tea and coffee is provided in the higher grade rooms, but we were not bothered about the absence in our room.
If you have time take the hotel offer of a free boat trip to the Murno glass Island. The boat ride is great through the back canals and then onto the grand canal and out into the open sea.
The demonstration glass blowing is short and then into the showroom and you will say how did they make that no sales pressure and boat back to St marks.
Breakfast was excellent in every way, quality, quantity and location (inside or out). Unless you ask for a canal view room the view will not be much, but this is Venice the buildings are old and squeezed in where there was room.We were to tired to look out of the window any way,but we did enjoy sitting outside with a drink. The staff are the greatest asset at this hotel followed by its location.Based on our experience we would recommend it to any one.

Room Tip: Take the free boat trip if you have time
