“Great Hotel, Great Location, Friendly knowledgeable Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

We traveled from Boston to Dublin Ireland and then onto Italy for a few nights
We stayed at this hotel in March 2014. This was our first time to Venice, and thanks to the hotel staff at this Hotel we had the opportunity to really EXPERIENCE Venice!
The location is SUPERB!! We took the train from Milan, got off in Venice ,walked over a very beautiful bridge, and the front door of our quaint hotel was right there.
The people who greeted us at the front desk could not have been nicer! They explained all about our rooms, where to go, what to do, breakfast in the morning and much more!
The rooms were elegant, extremely clean, quiet and comfortable. They gave us suggestions for dinner spots, how to use the water taxis, and even made a suggestion of where we could watch the Irish Rugby match which was on the next day, and definittely on out "Things to do list".
The breakfast is included and is absolutely wonderful!
The girl who makes the cappuccinos(Sorry i did not get her name)was very friendly, and makes the BEST cappuccinos that I have ever tasted. All in all a GREAT experience at Hotel Antiche Figure..we cannot wait to return. Thank you for being so friendly and helpful..it really MADE our Trip

Room Tip: Top Floor has a GREAT view Although the front rooms have a nice view of the canal, it can be nois...

This hotel is ideally placed for the train station, bus station and port. If you are arriving in Venice by these routes and have luggage then it's only a few bridges away which makes a huge difference.

The building is very old and historic and has been renovated in a sympathetic style. We took an upgrade to a Canal View room and was pleased with the room we were shown. It was a good size for a European hotel room with a modern ensuite with both bath and shower and toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities are in the room and there is a TV with a range of Italian channels.

The windows are pretty soundproofed but you will hear vaperetto passing which means if you're a light sleeper you might awake early but you're waking up in Venice so it's all good!

The breakfast buffet is a delight. All sorts of cheeses, cold meats, cakes, breads, yoghurt and fruits. They will also make you a beautiful decorated cappuccino on request. Toast can be made in a self service toaster which hopefully is back in service after I inadvertently broke it.

Don't be put off by the fact that it isn't adjacent to St Marks Square. You can walk or ride there at your leisure and you may even discover a corner of Venice you wouldn't normally have done on your way.

Room Tip: Go on - treat yourself to a Canal View. You're in Venice!

I agree with the others who have commended this hotel on location and service. Every front desk person was a delight and anxious to be helpful. We stayed for two nights. We were given a room in a separate building down an alley beside the hotel, so no view, but the room was nicely decorated with a separate seating area and a kitchenette. The bathroom was large and spotless. It was very, very quiet in this room, even with the windows open, because it backs onto a dead end alley with almost no foot traffic. There is a buzzer and a TV camera to notify the attendant to open the door to an inner area, then a key to open the room door.

The location is directly opposite the train station, but the Grand Canal is in between. So, you have to turn left and cross over a bridge. That bridge has many, many steps on both sides. There are young men waiting to assist, but they wanted too much. The trick was to take it one step at a time, using the rollers on the bag to get over the edge of each step. It goes faster than you think. But, it is a workout after travelling for hours on the train. Also, there is a ramp to avoid the steps at the train station. Turn left before entering the ticket area and go straight to the end though an opening and you will find a ramp for wheelchairs that avoids the steps.

I could not find an ATM in the train station, but there is one across the bridge and on the right.

The water bus was a mystery at first. We had a Venice Pass. But, you have to go to the kiosk and exchange the Pass for a multi-day ticket. That ticket opens the turnstile to get to the water bus waiting area. Look at the schedule board for the next bus and where you are going, then find the right spot for the bus you are taking.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have a view, but noise of the Canal. Rooms in the back, separate building are mo...

We absolutely loved this hotel and its location. The staff couldnt have been friendlier and the breakfast was amazing! I loved walking outside and seeing the canal. This was one of my favorite hotels on our trip; it was very clean and comfortable. I will definitely be back!

Our family of 4 stayed at the Hotel Antiche Figure while in Venice and it was wonderful. Nice spacious room, beautiful Grand Canal view, great service and excellent breakfast. I highly recommend the Hotel Antiche Figure and would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Canal view room was great- for the view and the extra ventilation.

What a wonderful place to stay in Venice! First, the location - across the street from the train station and a five minute walk to the airport transport buses is perfect! Secondly, the service is outstanding. Every staff member was warm, helpful and welcoming. You can tell they take great pains and pride in making their guests feel special. And last, but not least, the accommodations are lovely and oh so comfortable. The breakfast is among the very best we have had in all of our travels across Europe. There is no question we will be staying at this gem of a hotel every time we visit Venice!

The breakfast was excellent, the rooms are roomy with lots of room to spare. Summer might be a tad hot since we did not see that there is an air condition, but was great for the winter. Being on the first level, we were wondering if the noise from the side alley would affect us, but it turned out to not be a problem at all. Best of all, no need for a water taxi to get to since it is just right across the main station.

Dear Seth517,
we thank you very much for your nice review,
it was very nice to have you as a Guest in our hotel during the winter season and we hope to welcome you back in the summer season so that you can check our air conditioning system!
It is a very good system,
it is a centralised one
and it is nice to know that you did not notice it,
because it means that it does not ruin the venetian atmosphere of the room!

Thank you very much,
awaiting for you summer visit,
best regards,
