“Simply a Gem!”

I just came back from this hotel and have nothing but praise for the place and the staff. Our room was 118 and it was a decent size, spotlessly clean and with aircon working well and quietly. All the staff is so nice, helpful and informative. Breakfast is splendid, cold meats, cheeses, eggs, fresh fruit (not from the cans) and some fantastic home made cakes and biscuits. All that, and coffee, proper tasty one, served by the staff with a smile! A nice way to start a day! Thank you all from Antiche Figure for making our stay in Venice special!

I searched for ages on the internet for a hotel in venice as people had said some hotels are really hard to find in venice. This hotel was right across from the train station and 5 minutes walk from the bus station. Perfect location for getting around. The woman behind the desk was lovely and very helpful. They offered us a lovely room in there building a few metres down from the hotel. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. There is a watertaxi stop just across from the hotel which brings you to all the attractions. We decided to do a lot of walking as its a good way of seening venice and all the side streets. This hotel is definitely worth the money and its nice and easy to find and central location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel. We were here the night before our cruise. The staff were great, very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The location is great, convenient to the bus station and Valporetto.

A truly wonderful hotel. The staff couldn't do enough and always with a smile. I agree with the comments about the service being better than most 4 or 5 star hotels. The location was perfect, you can walk to most places or it is very easy to cross the bridge and use the vaporetto to get around - this gives you theopportunity to see venice from the canals - cheaper than a gondola or a water taxi, although maybe not quite so romantic! Some reviews are not so complimentary about the annex - we have absolutely no complaints and only great things to say. The suite we had was very spaciosu, with a separate sitting area and kitchennette. Beautifully decorated.

Room Tip: the annex suites are great, and extremely quiet. Very comfortable and luxuriously decorated. We we...

We stayed at Antiche Figure in early August. When I confirmed our reservation made through an online tour packager, I decided to upgrade to a canal-front room and was glad we paid $50 euros a night additional as the view and room were delightful! The furnishings were old-Venice style with brocade fabrics and a marble type bath with chandeliers. We were on the third floor and could close the windows which were pretty soundproof. This hotel has A/C which is a must in Italy in August and something that many B&Bs still do not have in the country. It also had fast WIFI, the best of any place we stayed in Italy.

The hotel staff are extremely well-mannered and gracious. The ONLY nick I have to give is the front desk's restaurant referral the first night. We went to a restaurant taking a left outside the hotel, then a left again down a side canal. When we got there the host said the hotel desk had reserved a table for us and he led us to it. My husband wanted gluten-free Italian food but all they had was spaghetti with tomato sauce, something we can make at home. We ordered sodas but decided not to stay based on the menu option but the host loudly insisted that they had something we would like. We paid quickly for the drinks and got out of there! We felt the hotel sent us to a tourist trap and we did not like the feeling. It was Venice in high tourist season and you kind of have to expect these things, but buyer beware.

Antiche Figure is located directly across the Grand Canal from the train station, however it is a long walk, around 45 minutes, to Piazza San Marco and the main tourist attractions. The hotel is near the entry to Venice. Walk across a nearby bridge over the canal to buy tickets for the vaporetto which goes up and down the Grand Canal like a water bus. A vaporetto stop is directly across the canal from this hotel. We bought 24-hour vaporetto passes which were pricey (around $25 euros each) but we used it back and forth on the canal several times to save our feet from all the walking in Venice.

When we were leaving, we asked the front desk if there was a porter to help get our bags to the train station. It is right across the canal, BUT there is a high pedestrian bridge across the canal with probably more than 20 stairs up and 20 down. A porter came with a hand truck at the arranged time, and for a fee, he hauled the truck with our three suitcases up and down the bridge to the train station. He earned his fee, as it was hard work! I recommend a porter to help if you have a family or heavier luggage as the bridge is packed with tourists and hawkers selling pocketbooks. Moving luggage (even with wheels) up and down those stairs is no fun. I am amazed Venice does not put in ramps on the side of bridges as people walk around with suitcases all the time as they arrive and depart. I did see one bridge with a worn ramp near San Marco. But alas, I am an American and see things differently and will end my review at that.

Fantastic location. Fantastic clean room. Very comfy bed (very important in my opinion) and by far the best service i have ever had from all the hotels i have stayed in, most of which have been 4 and 5 star.
I could give many examples about the service but will only give you one. I asked recommendation for a good restaurant. Ramone suggested a couple.
We chose one, the food was good but the service was non existence. that evening when we returned he asked how it was. Ramone was so apologetic. He felt so bad that he kept aplogizing the following morning as well.
The food was good as he suggested yet he was apologizing about another establishments service for which he could not do anything, all because he had recommended it.
THAT SHOWS THAT THEY CARE FOR THE GUESTS OVERALL STAY, NOT JUST THE STAY IN THE HOTEL

Went to Venice with my friends in August. Luckily i was told to stay at this hotel. They were so nice and so helpful. The rooms were beautiful much more than I thought it would be for the price!
Great location! in the middle of everything and just across the canal from the train station. The hotel set us up with a free trip to Murano and free tickets to the Casino! We felt like locals with their wonderful tips. We even went to the beach, the Lido, we really suggest you go to the Lido. and it is so close to Venice.Venice has so many museums the hotel sent us to. The hotel even helped us skip the long lines. The team at the hotel made us feel like we were cousins visiting not hotel guests. All in all we had a fabulous time, just wish we could have moved in!

Room Tip: They are too small for a pool but they can send you to the beach! if you can afford to get a room w...
