“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

This hotel lives up to it's reviews. The quality of surroundings, staff and it's position with easy access to all of Venice's attractions make it such a wonderful place to stay. Don't be too disappointed if you don't have a room facing straight onto the Grand Canal, we had a side view and still had a view of the Canal.

Stayed here 4 years ago on a business trip and returned last week with a friend for a 4 night stay to celebrate her birthday. On arrival we were upgraded to a lovely suite next door to the hotel, down a little siding. We had a beautiful bedroom, little living area with kitchenette and a gorgeous bathroom with a fabulous hydrotherapy shower. The service at this hotel is second to none. I have stayed in hotels all over the world, including for business, and Antiche Figure has the best service of anywhere I've stayed. And what makes it so wonderful is that it is all so genuine, it never feels insincere or sycophantic. Breakfast (which is included if you book directly) is simple fresh produce - bread, different kinds of croissants, boiled eggs, cereal, fruit salad, cakes, cold meats etc. Every morning the staff made me a long espresso from the machine in the bar which was a great start to the day. Was it Spencer Tracey who said " Some people want to go to heaven; I want to go to Claridges." Well, I want to go to Antiche Figure. Thank you Alessandro, Chiara, Anke and all the wonderful team at Antiche Figure.

This hotel is directly across the Grand Canal from the train station, so it is not hard to find. Good to know as you have to carry your lugggage (pack light!!!) over bridges with steps to get around. Just pay attention to the name of the bridge you need to cross over. The hotel lobby is small, but feels charming. The best thing about this hotel is how helpful the staff is. We only had one day, but they told us everything to do so we made the most of our time. We also upgraded our room to one with a balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. So fun! Take the vaporetti tour (only 7 euros each) and walk back through town. Magical! If you are foodies, go see the fish and veggie/fruit market in the morning. Eat all the gelato you can. My family and I loved the breakfast. Free delicious cappuccino, hot chocolate, pastries, yogurt. cereal, fruit, cheese, meat- wonderful. All served in a fun bistro with so many different languages spoken all around you.

This hotel is opposite of the train station so you cross the bridge and in a minute you arrive your destination. Staff greet you in a professional way. The historical building is in superb condition. If you get a room overlooking to the Grand Canal, you can easily entertain yourself by looking out of the window all the time. The hotel is quite, clean. The breakfast buffet is alright (do not expect 100's of varieties of food)

Room Tip: They have only 1 bigger room, must be on third floor. (Grand Canal side) That one is perfect:-)

Well situated on the grand canal and within easy walking distance from the bus station, with well refurbished rooms. Staff are exceptionally kind and helpful and give excellent advice on anything from hidden treasures in out -of -the-way locations to good places to eat.

Room Tip: Though on the Grand Canal it was much quieter than expected. Even rooms at the front seemed to be r...

Booked one of the suites for 4 nights overlooking the Grand Canal and absolutely loved it.

We went totally by the reviews on this site and weren't disappointed. The room was great and the staff were very helpful; marking suggestions on our map and booking restaurants for us while we explored the city.

There were so many good things about this hotel; the breakfast, the bar, the proximity to buses and vaporetto, and of course the great value.

Room Tip: Try and get a room at the front for the best views of the Grand Canal.

After looking at a number of reviews for hotels in venice, We decided on the Antiche Figure for a 4 night stay. Firstly it is in an ideal location for either bus or train transport from the Airport (only a short walk away from the stops). The rooms were very well decorated and had all the necessary facilities. The only rooms with a view are at the front, however these are more expensive and could possibly have some noise from the canal water boats. (How many times do you wish to look at the view from the room, on a short stay holiday?). Breakfast was more than adequate, typically cold meats, bread, cakes etc, with plenty of coffee. Finally, the staff were very pleasant and helpfull and helped to make the stay very enjoyable. If you need a good quality, reasonably priced hotel, for a stay in Venice, then you will not do much better.
