Great little hotel, very nice, with a perfect location. Good breakfast served in a larger hotel just steps away. San Marco square and water taxi very near, within an easy stroll of hotel. Saint Mark's cathedral is nearby, and the views of the Grand Canal are...well, Grand.

Great location, excellent room, very nice breakfast. Made Venice even more enjoyable. The small size of the hotel does not mean small performance or less enjoyment. We loved the evenings, strolling around San Marco square, and the music in the air, only to find our room nearby, quiet and restful.

My partner and I had stayed at the Hotel Anastasia some years ago and owing to its proximity to the Vaperetto Stop and St Marks chose to do so again. we arrived about 2.00PM to find the doors closed and a sign indicating that we use the intercom on the door, a short time later a young man arrived from the hotel Violino D'Oro to do our check in. We were advised that breakfast would be served at the hotel Violino D'oro and not at the Anastasia. From all appearances the Anastasia appears to have become an annex of the other hotel. The room we were given Room 305 was small there was little room for our bags and we travel light by some peoples standards using only a 26 litre case each and a personal bag backpack. The mini bar which was free had had all the alcohol removed other than a small bottle of Grappa.

We did receive our free bottle of Prosecco.

The bathroom was literally a one person affair and by European standards the shower was minute and flooded the floor when you showered.

The bed was comfortable enough and the linen crisp and clean there was however little space to sit if you wanted to write or use a laptop and the LCD TV took up most of the available desk space.

Breakfast at the Hotel Violino d'Oro was an ok affair although fairly limited with regard to muesli's and fresh fruit in all our travels across France and Italy we discovered that they have an obsession of sugar laden cereals such as coco pops.

For its purpose it was satisfactory a place to sleep and shower in between sightseeing and dining. There were no ironing facilities or tea preparation facilities provided. As it was to be our last visit to Venice it mattered little.

I wouldn't however recommend it unless you were to book one of the larger rooms at the front or chose the sister hotel Violino D'Oro. For the money we paid it did not represent value for money.

Very centrally located hotel within walking distance of all the major sites, water taxis and plenty of restaurants locally to choose from. Clean and comfortable hotel with plenty of choice for breakfast, even though it was at the hotel next door.

Room Tip: Air com seemed to have a mind of its own but beds comfortable and go for a higher floor.

This is a loveley hotel located close to St Marks square. The room we had 401 (lift only to the 3rd floor) was at the top of the hotel and looked onto the courtyard and roof tops. It was clean and comfortable. Only downside was the breakfast was at the Violino D'oro which was round the corner, on the plus side the breakfast was excellent with a wide selection that would please evreyone. All in all this was a very good hotel.

Our room (401) was reasonably spacious by european standards and very comfortable. The bed linens were always clean and very crisp. We also had a nice view. #402 is similar. Comfortable bed. Great location...but be sure you look for Hotel Violin d'Oro because the Anastasia is hidden behind it..and part of the hotel. The breakfast was delicious every morning. Best we've had anywhere in europe. Everything one might want. Elina and Giorgio at the desk were always helpful and pleasant. We will return to this hotel and highly recommend it. An excellent value all around. Suggest using a porter to help you find the hotel and carry your bags. It's close to the vaporetto and aquabus stops, but still a distance rolling bags thru crowds on cobblestones. At 20 euro, the porter was a bargain.

Room Tip: 401 and 402 require going up one flight of step, but the rooms have a nice view. Briefly saw anothe...

Three generation holiday. Super location, 5 minutes from St Mark's square. Rooms small but clean. Breakfast fun, don't usually have cakes. There was also cereal, juice, rolls, etc. Breakfast room small with very small tables.
We only slept in hotel and had breakfast there, out rest of time.
There was nothing not to like; in centre of Venice, sunny weather, gondolas, islands to visit, with family and friend.
