We booked a short stay in Venice through Easyjet holidays, and I must say I was very impressed with my choice and location of this hotel! We found it very easy to catch the water bus from Marco Plo airport after buying the tickets at their desk in the airport lounge. The bus dropped us off at St Marks square and the hotel is about a five to ten minute stroll away. Very easy, even with bags in tow. The staff are very helpful, and welcoming. The rooms are clean. One possible small criticism would be a large breakfast room, and lounge area would be good. But that is really looking for something to pick at. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, and we enjoyed the choice, although anyone who really looks for an English type breakfast when abroad could be slightly disappointed. Cake for breakfast? Its a yes please for me!
We found an excellent restaurant just outside the hotel Rosso Pommodore (please excuse me if this is incorrect) you should find it just underneath the hotel. Excellent food, and house wine at 6euros a half carafe, give it a try.
We loved the music cafes at the square, but be warned they can be expensive. For two cocktails and two sandwiches and for listening to the music if cost us 74 euros. Next time we may do what others do and drift enmasse whilst standing listening to the music, from one café to the next, like music zombies.
It is easy to get to the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal from the hotel, and the water buses are an excellent and efficient way of travelling.
It is expensive in the Gondolas, around 40 euros each, and we couldn`t get the price to drop, even after trying our best negotiating skills. But when in Venice.....

what a review! And what can we say if not thanking you!! We were glad to read you appreciated our very central location: as we always say, we are just one stone's throw from San Marco Square. And we believe we are the only hotel in Venice which lies so close to the most beautiful square in the world. Also, we read you found our staff helpful, and welcoming along with the cleanliness of our rooms: once again, these are things we are very proud of. Please, do not forget that we have our own bar, the "HK", serves an excellent selection of wines, spirits and lovely home made sandwiches... along with some light meals, if requested. Something to try, especially between 6 and 7 p.m., when there is a "happy hour" going on (purchase one drink of your choice and helpyourself to the appetizers buffet!).
