Based on the reviews here on trip advisor and the beautiful pictures of this place, my husband and I booked this place for 3 nights in July. Locanda Fiorita is really in a great location. Not too central (so it's quiet at night) but still pretty close to restaurants, churches and Saint Marco's Square. It did take us a while to find it, which was really a bother when your train comes in at 9pm and it's too dark to see where you're going!!
It is a pretty little place, well kept and the staff we found to be very polite and helpful. We had to move to a different room on the third night which was a damned nuisance. I wish they had just put us in the second room to begin with! During this move we actually dropped our passports and gave ourselves a heart attack, but the staff found them and held on to them for us in their safe. (I wish they had called us to let us know though, so we didn't go nuts!)
The reason I'm giving this two stars is because we found the pictures and reviews to be misleading. This place really is a lot smaller than it looks, especially the bathrooms, which were soooo cramped that my husband and I couldn't even use it at the same time. Our shower in the first room leaked so badly that there were puddles all over the floor every time we showered, even though I tried to make sure to aim the water properly. Just really really annoying. The beds were just awful, very uncomfortable. Breakfast was alright, but really nothing special. Basically some cookies, tea, melba toast and if you're lucky, a yoghurt. All the other hotels/inns we stayed at had at least a boiled egg or some cold cuts or a friggin muffin or croissant.
The biggest nuisance of all was the power - as in, there was none. Now in July, the city of Venice was doing some kind of maintenance during our stay, which meant no power - but this is NOT what I'm talking about. I realize the inn can't be held responsible for that unfortunate event. But ASIDE from that, every time I went to use my hair dryer (for which I brought the appropriate voltage converters, etc) even if we turned off the A/C and all the other power in the room, the damn fuse would pop, and we'd have to go to the desk and get them to flick it back on. Really, really a nuisance. No other inn/locanda/hotel that we went to had this problem.
Our whole stay in Venice was just vexing in general. This place isn't terrible, it's okay, but personally I'd rather pay a little more and get a room that has space to breathe, a bathroom I can walk around in WITH a bidet (totally necessary for Italians) and decent power!
Overall service was good, people polite and helpful but I would not stay here again if it was free.
