Fabulous hotel. Superb position. Room beautiful. Could not have wished for a better place to spend 3 days in Venice. Room 306 is recommended.

This hotel wins on location and friendly staff, but not all the rooms are as per the web site. We were given the smallest room ever, with the only window facing into an inner courtyard and very dark so it can be disappointing if expecting painted ceilings etc. The bathroom door opened into the bedroom and as the room was so small it could not be fully opened.

Breakfast was a bit limited for choice with no fresh fruit

On a plus side, it is very close to St Marks square and the main hallway looks great to pasing gondolas. The hotel is clean and offers all the little extras typical of a 4 star but There is a liitle bit of complacency with the staff to its guests.

We stayed here as part of an 'extended honeymoon' as we got married just before Christmas 05. We found Venice to be everything and more that you could want as part of your honeymoon. The hotel itself lived up to the pictures on the website, the rooms were decorated to a high standard, were very clean and well stocked with many of the little extra's you tend only to get in hotels of higher ratings. Although the hotel was very quiet during our stay we did not get a room with a decorated ceiling or canal view, in fact we were next to the lift! We did find some of the staff to be a little unfriendly; we were horrified to hear the breakfast waiter telling a couple off for sitting at a table for four when there were only two of them! Although there was a breakfast menu on the table the waiter didn’t make any effort or indicate that you could actually have anything from it, we were left with the breakfast buffet which I felt was a little sparse. The bar had strange unexplained hours and when we tried to get two coffee's one afternoon we were charged 20 euros!

We traveled to Venice on the Orient Express and when we arrived were taken in a motorboat to the Duodo Palace, it looks exactly as it does on the website. We were greeted by a courteous, helpful receptionist, our baggage taken to our room (which was the pink one on the home page) The room was sumptuous and the painted ceiling was beautiful and, as others have said the bathroom huge! We found our way around fairly easily after the first night and found the central location a huge bonus. The breakfasts were always good and the service prompt and polite. There are several nearby restaurants that we enjoyed. We both totally recommend this hotel and Venice to anyone!!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and were very impressed with every aspect of the hotel. Room overlooked the canal where singing gondoliers passed by frequently during the daytime. What a delight! Hotel staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Breakfast was in a very pleasant room next to the canal with a sufficient range of the usual fare in enough quantity to set you up for the day. The hotel was very clean and our room was tidied, cleaned and restocked by the time we got back after lunch. The hotel is a five minute walk fron St Mark's square and the Rialto Bridge, but manages to be extremely quiet of an evening.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff was very agreeable and accomdating, room was small, but the bathroom was large and modern, the view was a courtyard. The pictures of the bedroom (on the web site) was a bit misleading, ours was very plain. The breakfast was more than adequate, and the staff was informative. The resturant in Fenice Square (Antic Martini) was excellent. The location is near everything and yet off the beaten path. We had three wonderful days in Venice and will return again & again.

My husband and I stayed at the Duodo Palace for two nights in April. We found it to be a delightful hotel. On our first trip to Venice we stayed in a hotel on the Grand Canal, but the that one did not begin to compare with the lovely Duodo Palace. We actually preferred the location of the Duodo. It is close enough to the main sights without being too close. We loved the quiet Campo near the hotel. Not only is the Duodo a beautiful property, but the staff is eager to be helpful to the guests. We are looking forward to returning to Venice and the Duodo Palace.
