Just book it ... you will not be disappointed. Splash out for the Grand Canal view room its worth it.

Staff were very helpful with showing us where to go and not to go ... based on what kind of Venice experience you are after.
They also booked us our 3am morning water taxi transfer to the airport.

Recommend this place to anyone who is after a truely Venice Hotel experience cant beat the Grand Canal location. I wish id come here for my honeymoon.

Room Tip: grand canel view - only here once

I was not disappointed in my expectations that this would be a memorable place to stay on a recent trip to Venice. This bed and breakfast is discreetly hidden away on the top floor of an iconic palazzo on the Grand Canal, just a stone's throw from the Rialto bridge and a short walk to the Piazza San Marco. I booked for 2 nights, and was offered an upgrade to a junior suite for the second night, so can tell you that both of the rooms I stayed in were well appointed with beautiful furniture and walls upholstered in traditional brocade fabrics, as well as murano glass chandeliers. The reception was warm, and everyone we met who works at the hotel was friendly and more than helpful. The breakfast consisted of fresh pastries, coffee, choice of juices, yoghurts, sliced meats and cheeses, etc. .... what one would expect in Europe. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and modern. Wi-fi is free -- an added bonus. Our room also had a flat screen TV (but really, who comes to Venice to watch TV?), safe and fridge. A nice bottle of prosecco was waiting in our room on our arrival, which was a nice touch.

The hotel does have a few quirks, which we found charming and that added to my appreciation of this cool old palace. However, if your tolerance to travel is low and you really wish you were back on familiar ground, you should be aware of a few things before booking. When you enter the palazzo, you find yourself in an empty lobby and have to traverse it and go up a few stairs before you find the elevator. If you arrive by gondola, there is a water entrance, but you have to climb stairs once inside. The elevator is adequate but small (after all, they didn't exist when this place was built) and brings you to the floor below the hotel entrance. So either way, you have a short flight of stairs. The floors are not level, but are original, which I adored. If you have trouble with your balance, this might be a factor. There is no sign on the outer door to indicate that there is a hotel inside...so know what the building looks like before setting out (although it's just 2 buildings down from the vaporetto stop, so it's hard to miss)

On the other hand, the location, just a 5-minute walk from St Mark's square and 100 metres from the Rialto bridge, can't be beat. Combined with the excellent staff, I think this one's a winner.

Room Tip: The rooms away from the Grand Canal are quieter.

Excellent romantic hotel located just past the Rialto bridge. Location is excellent as you are right on the Grand Canal with excellent views from the breakfast room. Also, you are 10 meters from the water bus stop, which is very convenient as you do not have to go up and down steps as is common with many hotels. You do need to carry your bags up half a flight of stairs to get to the elevator. The hotel was a short walk to San Marco - we recommend using the western signed route as it is less busy and more interesting than the main route between Rialto and San Marco. The continental breakfast was of good quality. This hotel delivers the experience promised on its website.

Room Tip: We booked a double room with a side canal view. You could see a small section of the Grand Canal bu...

my wife & kids stayed here for a night in December and it was a quaint little hotel located just next to the Rialto Bridge and the water bus stop. The hotel is made up of only a few rooms and a breakfast/lounge space. the building is an antique with slightly sloping floors (at least in our large room) and wood beamed ceilings which added to the ambiance of staying in a building with some real character. the single receptionist/staff on duty was friendly and spoke english. breakfast was rather sparse and not something to get excited about - bread, croissants, coffee, juice, some meats, yogurt and cereals. the location was really fantastic with everything just minutes away. Our bedroom window also looked out over the rooftops to the campanile in Piazza San Marco so that was an added bonus.

Some facts.
The hotel is on the 3rd floor of a very old palace. (slopey floors, beams etc).
There are only 6 rooms.
Room 101 is the only one (other than the breakfast room) with a view of the Rialto and the Grand Canal. We stayed in this room. It is comfortable and the view is great. If you stay in this room you will hear the goings-on of the Canal. You are in Venice.
The breakfast is a standard continental breakfast and is fine.
The lift works as of December 2012
When you enter the downstairs lobby, if it is dark, you will find the light switch on the left as you enter.
The lift is on the right at the top of the first little marble staircase.
There are 2 visible staff, the receptionist and the breakfast server. Both are very friendly and helpfull.
It appears that those who have written poor reviews of the hotel have missed the point of a tiny bespoke hotel in an ancient building directly in the middle of Venice.
No one will be there to carry your bags. You won't have room service. You will have a great time.

Room Tip: Room 101 has the view of the Grand Canal. The others have a smaller canal or the bell tower

I was pleasantly surprised by this little hotel. On booking, I wasn't sure it would live up to the cute pictures advertised but was thrilled to discover it was even more charming in person. Nice large bathroom, comfy beds and even if I didn't have a view of the canal, I had a great very of the bell tower. The canal would have been noisy anyway. So it was much more restful to have a room away from the canal. Only feet from the Rialto Bridge. Easy to get to. Thank you for a wonderful time.
