“Quiet, charming hotel in the perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

We couldn't have chosen a better location. Water taxis are right in front of the hotel to go anywhere in Venice. It is directly on the Grand Canal with the Rialto Bridge a few steps away and a quick walk to San Marco. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the charming ambiance and the room was always clean. The delicious, fresh croissants served at breakfast were a treat every day!

We did read the reviews/complaints about the dark entrance, slanted floors and difficulty reaching the hotel and were prepared for those inconveniences. Once there we realized those complaints were not a nuisance in the least bit if you had some common sense. We learned that there are light switches at the base of the stairs so we never had to climb the stairs in the dark late at night. The slanted floors added to the old world charm of a 15th century building. We made the mistake of taking the Alilaguna from the airport to San Marco instead of Rialto where we could have been dropped off right at the front of the hotel with our luggage and not had to navigate Venice with luggage in tow.

we stayed there for three days with my family of five. The location is brilliant which the water bus station ( for both the grand canals and Marco polo airport) is just in front of the building. And it is extreme convenient to get around, whether to grab a night snack or shopping.
For the hotel itself,The staff is so helpful and friendly. Although the condition of the room may not be the best you have seen ( as the floor of one of the double rooms we booked was crooked), the rooms are so clean and smell so good. But so far, we are very pleased with the hotel, and not to mention they offer a free private taxi to the murano island and champagne with the booking from the hotel websites.

We (me & my husband) stayed in Palazzo Bembo for four nights. The place had been highly recommended by a close friend - and he was right. With a brilliant location - it is a place with so much atmosphere, stylish decoration, and the friendliest staff. From our room we had a view towards Sct. Mark's square and we could hear the bells and the singing from the canal - an extra plus in the otherwise quiet and calm hotel. What stories the old wodden beams must be able to tell! Perfetto...

Stayed here last week for 3 nights with my daughter. Was my second visit - last year went with my husband as it was a 'big birthday', & had a junior suite with Grand canal view.

It is a lovely little place - the staff are excellent & very helpful, from booking to departure, rooms are spotless, air conditioned, & breakfasts more than adequate. Its not really a hotel - more of an upmarket B & B, but could not recommend more highly for what we wanted on either visit.

This year we had a side canal view, which was fine & half the price of the junior suite After a long day exploring it was easy to get back to, & such a relief to relax in a genuine Venetian Palazzo, sloping floors & all, but with plenty of hot water, air conditioning which did not fail, & a well stocked mini bar!

Not sure I'd pay again for a Grand canal view, as the windows are quite high & obviously no balconies - but it WAS lovely if we were awake very early in the morning to watch all the various traffic build up & get a feel for the real Venice.

We will definitely be back, being now addicted to Venice & all its little canals & islands away from the crowds (surprisingly very quick & easy to reach), and next time, on the advice of Matteo, will look forward to seeing it in the winter!

Stayed for a week here and have a couple of points to make in response to other reviews: first, think of this as a B&B rather than a hotel. Second, the hotel is extremely convenient to many destinations, but do not expect to want to hang out at the hotel at all. A/C works, there's a TV and continental breakfast. Beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. But thats it. The room with view of Grand Canal is lovely, but the one at the oopposite end, overlooking the rooftops all the way to the San Marco bell tower is bigger. Take your pick. Returning after dark is a little scary if you are used to it being dangerous to enter dark, uninhibited lobbies late at night. The hotel itself is locked, but anybody could walk in off e street and lurk on the ground floor, which does not be.ong to the hotel. Seriously, if you're from any city, this is a little worrisome. We didn't have trouble, but it's off-putting. The vaporetto and taxi stops are immediately out the front door, Rialto is a 1 minute walk, and San Marco is a 5 minute walk. Staff are helpful, relaxed and accommodating.

Room Tip: Be clear about whether you want a view of the Grand Canal or not.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights before we boarded our cruise ship. We had a lovely stay - the location was wonderful and was easy to find when we disembarked from the Alilaguna boat from the airport - it was right next to the dock. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel with little trouble finding our way back, which we understand to be quite the feat in Venice. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom clean, and the furnishings were antique looking (don't know if they were real antiques, but we loved the ambiance) and fit what we thought Venice should look like. We enjoyed staying in a non-chain hotel, even though it wasn't cheap. It was our honeymoon, so we didn't mind splurging for the views and the location. The food in the breakfast room was good - a very hearty continental breakfast each morning with delicious pastries.

The only complaint my husband had was that the walls seemed a tad thin one night when we heard our room neighbors, um, activities. Other than that one instance, our stay was lovely and we would stay at Palazzo Bembo again!

It's close to everything. The water bus station, shopping areas, Piazza San Marco. We can easily walk cross Rialto bridge to our favourite restaurant, Trattoria Alla Madonna, which is located across the hotel. Reception guys are ready to help in any info u need. An included breakfast is not bad too.
