We arrived at the end of January in time for the Carnival. Had to ask directions to the hotel as discription was not very clear. At first glance we were pleased and the staff spoke quite good english. However when we checked in we were told that we had to take breakfasts in our room. This wouldn't have been a problem if the room hadn't been so small. After a second cramped breakfast where we were told that there was no choice of juices (just tomato ugh!), the toast was something brittle out of a packet, we encountered some italian guests returning to their rooms after enjoying their breakfast downstairs. When we tried to complain the staff's english suddenly wasn't so good! We told them on the first day that we wanted orange juice and we are still waiting! The Lido itself was a great location with some good restaurants and good access to Venice itself. However avoid this hotel, the rooms are small, the beds and pillows are hard and for us it spoilt some of the enjoyment that our Venice trip should have given us.
