the hotel is just across from the grand canal from the san lucia train station in a quieter part of venice. to get to san marco or the rialto bridge, follow the signs and pleasantly walk 15 minutes or take the vaparetto in front of san lucia. note that because the streets of venice are very confusing, it is not easy walking back to the hotel; take the vaparetto instead.

the rooms were very clean and compact, but without a tv (which was not a problem seeing that we were in venice!) the bathroom was a bit narrow and had a shower stall. breakfast in the dining room was nice and served by the always cheerful and helpful staff.

not recommended for romantics, but excellent for travellers looking for a great value in venice!

What more can I say about this place? I'm just gonna say that all the good review are true. Great price (for the quality), great location (close to ferry, railway and bus station) and warm service. I've already recommended this place to my friends.

We stayed in a triple and single room at this hotel in Feb2005.
The rooms were spacious and spotless. The shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast was basic, but fresh and appreciated.
The staff were excellent, including giving a superb value restaurant recommendation. (Ostaria al Vecio Pozzo E25 for two courses, plenty of wine and coffee all served to perfection). We couldn't have had a nicer introduction to Italy or Venice.

This place is in a GREAT location! If you're traveling by train, this is just across the waterway, near tons of water taxis, but best of all you can walk and explore the different streets towards the Duomo. It's not that far to walk around, maybe 15 to 20 minutes tops to get to the real touristy areas. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was my absolute favorite during my 3 week backpacking trip through western Europe. Our hotel room and bathroom were very clean. You can't really beat this price for this service...especially in Venice where a lot of stuff is overpriced during high tourist season.
