We arrived the hotel at 11am and our room was ready when we arrived. We wanted to get a nicer treat to ourselves in Venice, we booked ourselves a deluxe room with canal view through Hotels.com. However, when we checked in, we found that Hotels.com made a mistake and booked us a deluxe room with garden view, which is 50 Euro cheaper than the one we booked. I tried to let the receptionist know our situation. She said "This is impossible. I am very sure you only booked a deluxe room not the one with canal view." I really wanted to tell her "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE IN THIS WORLD, DEAR!!" I totally understand this was not the problem of the hotel, however, how this lady handled my situation really piss me off. I hope it's only her English problem not her attitude problem. I called Hotels.com afterward, and I will handle my refund later.
OK, back to the hotel. Honestly, I don't know what's the different between a superior room and a deluxe room. The room is quite small. Especially the bathroom. That is very small. It is impossible to have 2 persons in the bathroom at the same time. There is only shower, no bathtub. After all, the room is nicely decorated, clean and new. The bed is outstandingly good. It is on the similar quality as Simmons and Sealy. We had a very good rest.
The breakfast is good as well. But don't trust the pictures of the hotel. The breakfast room looks very big on their website pictures, but it is actually very small. Most of the guests need to eat outdoor. Luckily it was a beautiful sunny day this morning. We actually enjoyed having our breakfast outdoor this morning. But I can't imagine how people can have their breakfast outdoor if it rains or very cold during winter time.
Don't waste your money in booking a deluxe room. Superior room is more or less the same

Regarding your booking it's a pity that your agency booked a different room than the one expected. Of course we reserved the room that the agency requested. If you wish to make an upgrade it is Always possible but according to our availability only. If the hotel is fully booked unfortunately we cannot grant it.
The difference between a Superior and a Deluxe room is the size. Superior is our based category and then we move to Deluxe which is a bigger room. On both categories you can have either shower or bathtub but if you would like to have any of those in particular we kindly ask you to let us know at the moment of the reservation in order to assign you a room with those characteristics.
We are also delighted to read that you liked our breakfast Carnival Style!
Regarding the space of the room I'm happy to confirm that we do have sitting for all our 67 rooms (including doubles and triples). You may not have noticed THE breakfast room as in summer is mostly the garden and the buffet area that are used. But that other room can fit around 70 people more, which is also the room we use in winter.
It would be fantastic to welcome you once again to the Carnival Palace!
