“JUST GREAT !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

WELCOME
Extremely friendly and multi-lingual staff. Had been recommended by daughter who had stayed there a week a month earlier.
Bar is reasonably priced with local and speciality beers. We were even offered a trip to the brewery.
The owner (we think, because he was dapper, and wore three piece suit) hangs around in the lobby.
Also recommended restaurant nearby for a reasonably priced good Italian meal.
ACCOMMODATION
Beautiful (almost clinically) clean room, lift service, and taken to the room by staff. Flat screen TV. Electronic key. Bathroom was delightfully decorated, with flowers, plus it had fluffy large bath towels, sponges, tissues, individual soaps and sponges. The whole place has lovely summery and light feeling. Air-conditioning perfect.
BREAKFAST
Light and airy breakfast room, with well stocked breakfast items to see you through to lunch.
No rush to check out, and they will answer any questions about where to go, how much it costs, and whether it is worth a visit, which is highly valuable Intel.
LOCATION
At first sight, it appears to be off the beaten track, but there is a regular bus service (number 32) literally outside the hotel. In fact you can sit and wait just outside the entrance in one of the armchairs provided for the smokers. just 20 minutes to Piazzale Roma for the water bus.
GENERAL
No question that any return visits to Venice will mean a stay here.
At € 75 tremendous value. Faultless !!

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the road. There is railway, but the train frequency is not intrusive...

It's not in a beautiful location, situated on the railway tracks in a semi- commercial part of Mestre, but bus 32 runs right out the front of this yellow, strangely shaped hotel. This bus will drop you at Mestre train station where you catch bus 2 into Venice. Getting on this bus requires patience and the odd sharp elbow- Europeans don't seem to comprehend the idea if an orderly bus line so it's every man and woman for themselves!
The hotel itself has good private parking, friendly informative staff ( thanks Loris), nice rooms and is very quiet, we never heard the train even though it runs past only 50 metres from our room. Breakfast is great, fresh bread and croissants, cheese and hams being the standouts for me.

The staff were so friendly and helpful from even before I arrived, sending me bus and train time tables! They are clearly very passionate about Venice and knowledgeable !

Breakfast finished a bit early for us (9:30) only managed it the 1 day but was good, selection of pastries, meats, fruit, yogurt and cereal. Juice, tea and coffee.

The only issue was it's a bit out of the way of things but the bus stops right outside and takes you to the train station and your in Venice in ten minutes, great for a money saver! Bus not to expensive, a poor system means you could probably get away with not paying for most trips as the bus is always packed going into Venice it's self, (the 1st bus we got we asked for a ticket and the driver shrugged her shoulders).

We chose this hotel on price and location. It exceeded our expectations. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the rooms quiet, modern, comfortable and beautifully clean. With bus stops to Mestre station right outside the door, where another can whisk you on to Venice itself. All for under a 3 euro return trip, with tickets at reception. This was a great choice and base for visiting Venice. Highly recommended.

Hotel Alveri was all we could've asked for. Simple, modern, clean, good value, and great service. At any time of the day/night every staff member I encountered was very polite, friendly, and extremely helpful. They truly went out of their way to go the extra mile to make our stay great. The front desk staff are so genuine, it's very nice to encounter when travelling abroad. We had a fantastic sleep both nights we stayed, despite there being train tracks directly beside the hotel, it was not at all an issue and never woke us up during the night. The hotel is very accessible to Venice as there is a bus stop in front of the hotel that can take you to the main terminal for you to then take another bus or a train to the island of Venice. In total, either way you get there in about the same amount of time, and the ticket is approx 1euro 30cents and they run almost all hours of the day. Hotels directly in Venice are so expensive, and other ones we saw in the Mestre area do not look nearly as nice. Stay here... it's a great value!

Is much more economic comparing with hotels inside Venice and excelent if you are travelling by car. You can leave your car parked in the Hotel for free and take the train or bus to visit Venice.
Bedrooms are clean and the breakfast provides the essencial.
Surrondings are not nice but proved to be a quiet place to stay.

This hotel is well-situated for visiting Venice, right on a bus route (no buses on Sunday though), and fairly close to the railroad station (not walking distance for seniors). Cab ride back from Venice was $25 Euros. We picked this hotel because it is relatively new, and has an elevator. Family staff was very helpful. Good breakfast included. Good value. Would stay again.

Room Tip: No fitness centre, didn't mean terrible. Pick a room on the opposite side from the railroad tra...
