“Fantastic Birthday Treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

We stayed at the Ca pisani hotel at the beginning of April.
It was excellent!! The room was superb and super clean! the staff helpful, the breakfast perfect.
And staying in the quiter area was a nice contrast, Venice was stunning! A fantastic Birthday treat and we will definitely return for another visit.

Of three comparably priced hotels where we've stayed on our Italian vacation, Ca' Pisani was by far our favorite and the best value. The location is fantastic. It's in a relatively quiet neighborhood with easy access to waterfront dining and two vaporetti lines. But the three things that made this hotel stand out from the others are the service, the quality of the rooms and the best breakfast we've had so far in Italy. After 15 hours of travelling, the staff made us feel at ease right away (the complimentary bottle of Prosecco might have helped). And their friendly customer service continued even after checkout. I left my eyeglasses and they immediately couriered them to my current location in Rome. We'd definitely return to this hotel.

Excellent location - within 10-15 mins walking distance to San Marco/Rialto... And the Accademia museum was literally one block away. Not as touristy/crowded of an area, which is exactly what we wanted!

Service was friendly and helpful. Concierge made several restaurant recommendations and reservations for us - one of them being an amazing dinner at "Riviera." They also helped us book water taxis to the airport and to Murano (free ride to the factory!).

Rooms were superbly furnished and clean. We traveled with another couple. Their Superior room was spacious and elegant. Our Deluxe room was beyond our expectations with super-high ceilings.

The breakfast was quite good - eggs, meats, yogurt, cereal, pastries, etc. It was a nice way to start our days.

The tea area on our floor was a definite perk. It was nice to be able to serve ourselves tea / hot water whenever we were in our rooms and wanted to relax.

If there was one less than excellent comment to make, it would be - We were a bit puzzled to find that our room was cleaned and that there was turndown service when we left he Do Not Disturb sign on our door a few times... But that didn't bother us too much... Especially since we came back to our room and found a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and chocolates in our room (to celebrate a birthday). Can't be upset about that at all!

This hotel was recommended to me by a relative. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation to anyone and everyone looking to enjoy their time in Venice. Can not wait to visit/stay again!! Next time, I will be sure to bring a lock to sign/lock on the bridge right down the street to guarantee our return!!

Room Tip: Deluxe room #12 was a dream.

This hotel was chosen by our sons as a present for our 60th birthday, and their selection could not have been better. A beautiful decor with friendly staff, in a near perfect location in the Dorsoduro just two minutes walk from Accedemia bridge and the Grand Canal. The rooms were spacious and stylish and the maids kept the place spotless. Breakfast was a sheer delight - wonderful Italian coffee, oranges to freshly squeeze yourself, and a magical selection of cereals, fruits, cheeses, meats, breads and cakes (and an opened bottle of fizz on the ready).

The roof terrace was an added bonus, as we could sit or lay in the sun for another hour or so after the sun had dipped below the streets of the city itself (we were there in April so the days were only just starting to lengthen. Laying there and listening to the numerous church bells ringing out was a great experience.

All in all a wonderful hotel in a wonderful city. We will undoubtedly return.

Nice hotel, late checkin (after midnight) and staff where very friendly and welcoming. Alilaguna Vaporetto takes about 1hr35mins from airport (blu line) to zatterre and then its 100 meters away (€27 each for a return ticket). Keep the 'do not disturb' sign on though when your in the room, they keep it clean but this means they clean it often and we had people opening the door without knocking a few times. Buffett breakfast is nice, mix of cereals, pastries, bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs and fruit etc. relatively quiet room, free wifi. About 15min walk from St Marks square. We had the basic room, which was pretty nice and plenty big enough for two. Well decorated room and hotel with 1930's furniture and paintings. Minibar with free atill water (everytging else you had to pay for) Nice bathroom with hottub/bath (hottub was a little noisy so we were a little worried people would know when you were using it). Would book here if we cisit Venice again.

dear Legoman1977,
thank you very much for your review. and especially the fact you would stay again with us, should you visit Venice in the future. for us this is an incredible achievement.
regarding the door which was opened without knocking, I apologize: I have spoken with the housekeeper and what happened is probably that when the key is not inserted in the socket, the red light outside is not on and the maid thinks the room is free. I suppose this could be the case... anyway, I apologize again, and should you have any further note, please do not hesitate to inform me. I would be pleased to answer, of course also by email: serandrei@capisanihotel.it
thank you a lot, and Happy Easter!

Created from a small 14th or 15th century palazzo, this hotel is nothing short of mesmerising. It sits in what could be seen as the best situation in Venice, in Dorsoduro, the artistic, more local quarter of Venice. From our duplex room, more like a studio flat, it was possible to see both the Grand Canal and the Canale di Giudecca, each just a minute or two away. Everything in the hotel is made and finished to the truly highest standards. It amazed us that every object seemed to have been designed and made specifically for the hotel, in which the mediaeval interior was very carefully refurbished using a very authentic art deco style, with both styles sitting comfortably together. The attention to detail is remarkable and the lighting fully complemented this.

The staff all were so welcoming and friendly without being too obsequious. We were led to our room without fuss to be greeted with a complimentary spread of cold meats, cheeses, salad accompanying home-made jams, together with a bottle of prosecco, all presented from La Revista, the hotel's restaurant. We arrived in the evening and it was a thrill to be able to open the tall double windows and listen to the quiet sounds of the street.

The hotel's front is onto a Rio Terra, that is, a filled in canal, which is a fairly busy thoroughfare, though nothing like the tourist routes through say, San Marco. It can be lively but hardly noisy and the sound insulation, plus the blackout blind which can be operated from the bed, make for a dark and peaceful room, if you need it.

The buffet breakfast is a splendid feast of more or less anything one could want, from cold meats and cheeses, fruit, breads, cereals and dolci and the busy staff always seemed on hand to supply another tea or cappuccino.

The room was always cleaned perfectly. My wife's nightshirt was even neatly folded and placed under a pillow.

There were plenty of facilities which we didn't use and perhaps the only reason why the hotel isn't five star is because there is no pool/gym, which we would be unlikely to use, and there is no watergate, meaning that there is a little walk from the water taxi/Alilaguna quays to the hotel, but Accademia on the Grand Canal and Zattere by the Canal di Giudecca are a mere couple of minutes away (with no bridges to cross) on either side; the hotel staff are more than willing to help porter cases.

There is little to fault. The ancient construction of the hotel and its preservation means that the original beamed ceiling does not allow for much sound insulation from the floor above. Our bed, superbly modern, cosy and comfortable, was immediately below the bathroom above. On the first night the guests in that room above clearly had to catch an early flight and I was woken at 3.40am and kept awake till they left at about 5.00am. It is a bit of a problem which I'm sure the hotel is aware of and I sympathise that there is no easy solution.

The bathroom and its complimentary toiletries was luxurious, though one morning the water was a bit tepid. My wife would have liked to have had a mirror by the bed on the mezzanine and we both would have liked more drawer space. There are two tables by the bed, one for the TV, which could be replaced by drawers. We had no interest in watching the TV or listening to the radio, though I did try the latter. It provided only four rather badly tuned pop stations and I didn't bother again. However, these are very minor things.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ca' Pisani to any discerning traveller and would like to thank everyone there for a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor and at the back are likely to be very quiet. At the front you can watch the w...

We really liked Ca Pisani. It is well located a couple of minutes from the Academia bridge in the relatively quiet area of Dorsoduro. The hotel is stylish with well appointed and comfortable bedrooms and opulent bathrooms (although maroon quartz isn't to my taste).
Breakfasts were very good with excellent coffee provided.
There had been a mix up on our booking which meant they only expected one room to be taken but they quickly and smoothly sorted it out. A second deluxe room wasn't available for the first night so they provided a standard room and then upgraded us to a junior suite for the other two nights and gave us a free bottle of prosecco as well.
