“Great location, near Rialto bridge!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

I must admit I was a little concerned approaching the hotel - the alley leading to it was overgrown and a little creepy. But the hotel itself was wonderful, if a bit quirky. Owing to the sinking of venice, there was not a right angle in our room!!! Looked like something out of Alice in Wonderland! The view of the canal was lovely.
Our friends had a huge room with an even bigger fresco on the wall!! Speaking of big, the bathrooms were enormous by European standards and included bathtubs (the better to soak your feet after a day of walking around the city) Breakfast was served in our rooms each morning and while meager, at least was enough to get us going each day.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

We loved this location, facilities, and tranquillity.
Location of this hotel is in very much in one of the best areas in Venice. Numerable restaurants and shopping sites nearby. Hotel offers a quiet getaway ambiance, especially when all the superliner tourists arrive.

Hotel service is good and owners are helpful when needed. Breakfast is I guess your traditional affair here consisting of croissant and coffee however, for more substantial foods if you need, just walk outside to the many street cafes. Our room overlooked the canal and it provided good scenery to everyday Venetian life, quite interesting. Room had no no TV but did provide good WIFI where you can download stuff to watch when you had enough of walking around sightseeing, shopping and/or eating and drinking.

Venice itself is amazing and beautiful, food, shopping, fashion, scenery and good reasonably priced wine. I'd come back here tomorrow without hesitation

Thank you to Stefano for a fantastic experience in Venice. The room was fantastic with great views of the Grand Canal. We had the junior suite at a great price. It was a large corner room with three windows to view the canal. The breakfast was very tasty and enough to start the day. It was only a short walk to restaurants, shopping and major attractions like Piazza St Marco. The room was very clean with all the requirements to meet our stay. I would recommend anyone travelling to Venice to stay there.

Room Tip: The junior suite is worth the little extra.

My husband and I went to Venice for the first time 2 weeks ago and we stayed at this beautiful B&B! We really experience what it was like to live in the heart of beautiful Venice. It is an ideal location, as we were minutes away from piazza San Marco & rialto bridge! Our room was large and clean. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and we would come back in a heart beat! Tip, follow the instructions closely on how to get to the B&B

We loved this hotel. We travelled as family with teen and nine year old. We booked two rooms which were adjoining and both facing the grand canal.

Air conditioning was excellent. It was so hot in venice during the day that we spent a lot of time in the rooms. Rooms were so comfortable for daytime and sleeping.

Wifi worked perfectly. With two kids and all the iPods, iPads, play book tablets we had no problems without a tv since wifi was perfect.

The rooms are huge, I mean huge.

The windows that opened onto the grand canal were just amazing, what an incredible view.

The bathroom was clean, nice towels, shampoo, hair dryer.

Beds were comfy, just perfect.

And in room breakfast served with view of grand canal. Who can ask for more?

And that coffee was the best we have had yet on this trip.

Breakfast in the room was great way to start the day.

Fridge worked perfectly.

In room safe was great.

And as for the location, it really was easy to find. I do not understand why people could not read the directions from the owner, it was really clear.

We saw many tourists with luggage trying to find hotels, we had no trouble at all.

The building is authentic, truly authentic. I think dates back to about 1300. We were privileged to stay in that place.

My daughter who is very picky loved this hotel as we all did.

We paid about 700 Canadian dollars total for two rooms for two nights. Rooms were connecting and looked straight into the grand canal.

I think this hotel is a bargain.

Pictures on website are identical in person.

I cannot say anything negative about the hotel.

As for venice, well, we found the vaporettas just way too crowded and preferred walking. We parked at tronchetto which was super easy.

I found out about this hotel as recommendation from the Internet. It is not a new building, but perfect for a summer visit to venice.

To be fair, it was clean and the manager was very pleasant. However, we were very disappointed by this hotel and based on our experience, the Trip Advisor awards it has received are a bit of a mystery. Maybe we just had a dud room?
Arriving at the hotel, down a narrow alley that leads to an abandoned building site, we were hoping that the 40-something stairs might lead to the little gem that the awards suggested. Unfortunately this was not to be. Our room was rather depressing, with furniture that had seen better days and a bathroom that, whilst clean with good towels, had a bizarre ancient bucket-style shower, no extractor fan, and the dimmest of lights.
There is air conditioning - but very noisy, and the wi-fi did work for us. Breakfast was a coffee, a juice, a croissant and a roll, plus some of those toast-rusk things and jam. Not inspiring, but 'did the job'.
I would suggest avoiding this place if you have bulky luggage - not only because of the stairs, but because whilst it is near-ish to Ca d'Oro getting in and out of the city from this location isn't easy if you're not travelling light.

Whilst we were disappointed, at least it was clean and centrally located - it was just very tired, and not the best place to enjoy this otherwise beautiful city.

Room Tip: Don't choose the "Quadruple room overlooking side canal". Very depressing.

... was excellent. The floorspace and the ceiling height make the room feel huge. The bathroom was squeaky-clean. The air-con is superb. The fridge came in handy. The dual-aspect view was mesmerising; apparently the artist, Turner, used to stay here.

Tip - we think the best way to get to/from the airport and the hotel is the Alilaguna (ferry) 'Linea Blu' to Fondamente Nuove; the hotel is 5-10 min walk on quiet and sympathetic roadways if you're pulling luggage!
