“Perfect Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

With a room looking out on the busy Grand Canal, opposite the Rialto Market, this hotel room offers the opportunity to see a slice of Venetian life behind the tourism as well as a beautiful view.
The hotel room was spacious, beds really comfortable, chairs to sit and watch the Vaporettos go by and as you are given the keys you can come and go as you please in a really central location.
The room has a fridge which was perfect for a bottle of Prosecco in the evening and as soon as we asked where the nearest supermarket was, three champagne flutes were brought to our room without even asking for them!
A fantastic stay - I will be back!

Don't be put off by the entrance to the hotel. Once you get up the stairs you'll see the charm of this place. Make sure you pay the extra for one of the rooms over the grand canal. We stayed in room 4 after asking if we could move from one of the side rooms. It was available for 2 of our three nights and was well worth the extra. The view of the grand canal is hard to beat. Sitting in the window with a glass of prosecco, watching life go up and down he canal, was a highlight of our weekend. The hotel is perfectly placed to tour the city. It is a bit noisy outside if you have a room at the front but it's worthwhile because of the view. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

For us, it is like homecoming going back to Leon Bianco. Look back at reviews and you will see we have been here many times before. It has been upgraded in small ways but it really hasn't changed in a few centuries...It is the best location to stay in Venice. Your are in the middle of everything, You get a front row seat to daily life in Venice. You even might get to see the police leading people to the police boat across the grand canal some days! You can watch the fish market, boats and all that happens on the Grand Canal. We even like the little alley to the door. Other toursits watch us go down the alley and even follow to see what is at the end. Now there is an automatic light that turns on when you open the door! The steps have been repaired and little things upgraded. It is still the same twin beds pushed together that I always end up in the middle every night. So what, I'm in Venice! Stephano is always the perfect host for us. He gives us advice and help when we need it. Sorry, I'm biased, I really like the place. Please note from all the other reviews. This is not Holiday Inn. This is not a hotel like some people think it should be. It is Venice. Embrase the unique.

Room Tip: Room #4 has the best view

Our room was massive! As honeymooners, we were upgraded to a room on the canal and had an amazing view of the water sights, including the Rialto Bridge.
We loved breakfast served in our room each morning, chopping on croissants as we stared out watching the gondolas glide past.
It was my also husband's birthday when we were in Venice and Stefano helped me arrange dinner at a nearby restaurant - 'Ristorante Al Vagon' - food was amazing.
The hotel is a little tricky to find but Stefano gave us some wonderful instructions. We caught a water taxi from the train station (a little expensive but so worth it to take in Venice for the first time like this!) and our driver knew where to hotel was also so directed us through the right gateways.
Like many places in Europe, the stairs are the only option and in this hotel it was a steep climb - Stefano helped but women or elderly will struggle with this one!

We stayed 2 nights in the cheaper downstairs room. Quite basic but at 70 euros we have no complaints. A little cold in the winter but would probably be pleasantly cool in summer. The entry, alleyway and stairs may be worrying for people from a country where 100 years counts as old, but this is Venice guys and it is a really old building.

Upgraded on the last night. Really comfortable room with wonderful views of the Grand Canal. (Room 3)

Great location close to Ponte Rialto, which is easily reached by vaporetto and there is a stop near by. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we were thrilled to be upgraded to a room overlooking the Grand Canal. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast served in our room to our family of six (not all in the same room). Don't be put off by the winding lane way to access the hotel.
This is hotel is great for any size groups.

Room Tip: Rooms near the Grand Canal have a fantastic view of the Canal.

A slightly quirky approach and entrance were no barrier to finding our way to this delightful accommodation. Pre-booked, we had the map and instructions with us, and though it was our first visit to Venice, we got off the train, negotiated the canal transport and were there in no time. The secret is the building number. Our host Stefano effortlessly carried all our bags up the two flights of stairs, our room overlooked the Grand canal and all was very pleasant. From here we walked all over old Venice and caught the canal transport nearby when we wanted to. There is a small but useful library, which included a Rick Steyn guide, and that was ours for the duration.

Room Tip: If you're a couple, ask for Room 3
