“Quiet and clean but no air con”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2009

My room was in 3rd floor with no air condition. It was in daytime + 40 outside and inside +30, so it was still so hot in the evening/night that you could'n really sleep. Otherwise the room was nice: good beds, sink in the room, clean linen and towels. Shower and toilet was in the corridor. Nice staff and breakfast was bearable; cheese, croissants, biscuits etc. (but all wrapped in plastic). Location is really good if you arrive by train.

Very basic. Simple rooms, but quite cute. My first room was not very good to sleep in though. I had a room next to the toilet and could hear everyone's toileting habits. I complained and they were very helpful. I got a new room straight away.

Male receptionists were very helpful and nice. Whereas the cleaners who as well served our breakfast were quite grumpy and it took me a couple of days to get the smile out of them.

Breakfast was very boring but you'll survive :-)

We stayed here for 3 nights in December. The hotel is conveniently located steps away from the train station and is hidden in a cove but is easy to find. There are bars, restaurants, deli's and other shops right outside of the hotel. The staff was extremely hospitable and the hotel was very clean. The rooms are average, but for a 2 star hotel the overall value is great. The breakfast spread was ok but seemed a bit lacking compared to some of the other hotels we stayed at in Italy during our stay. We stayed in a "shared bathroom accomodation" and didn't find that a problem at all. My only other complaint would be that you can hear a lot of outside noise - not really a problem for us - but if you want complete quiet at night i wouldn't recommend staying here.

We just returned from a 3 night stay in Venice at the Hotel Guerrini. Our stay was wonderful, the room was very pretty, just as presented on their website. It was a bit hard to find - but then again everything in Venice is. We did go past the hotel and asked a Restaurant owner who was more than happy to direct us to the hotel. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was rolls, coffee, nutella, jam, pastries and orange juice - enough for us. The hotel itself was very quiet - our window opened onto a cute courtyard. There is no TV as stated in other reviews, but you're in Venice - who needs a TV. If I wanted to watch TV - I'd stay home. Besides - it would all be in Italian...

Definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is the best deal that we could find in Venice - location to the Santa Lucia train station is very convenient - a 5-10 minute walk.

It was one of the best hotels I have stayed in.
The only problem was that the breakfast was not satisfying.
The receptionists were a little bit indifferent.
We shared bathroom with other people and the toilets don't have a wash basin so after you're done, you'll ust have to go to your room to clean up. Other than that, the rooms were big, clean and comely.
I definetly recommend this hotel if you don't expect too much.

Clean but...the terrible closet one per twoo rooms makes horrible noises, specially in the middle of the night...
They really wouldn't call the thing what they offer in the morning a breakfast...Some sweet peaces of bread, that almoast nowbody have eaten...
I would never stay there again and wouldn't advice this hotel to anybody.

The hotel, and especially the room given to me (nr. 16) are far below the level what is suggested on the hotel's web page. But also below a two starts hotel level.
Complains about the hotel:
- I was put into a room which indicated 65 euro in high season as minimum price (the room was for 3 persons, so there was a maximum too), all the same I had to pay 85 euro,
- the receptionist was uninterested and arrogant when I tried to express my complains("this is a 2-start hotel only" was all what he responded);
- bed was short and uncomfortable,
- room looking over a small, dirty and noisy inner yard - at least the hotel could clean the yard up;
- somehow there was much overhearing from other rooms;
- breakfast was the most disappointing minimalistic thing, with pre-packed bread etc.
- the staff was anything but kind or even helpful, the claim that they speak 'all major languages' is a huge overstatement - none of the 3 persons I met within 14 hours at the reception spoke English on a communicational level.

I shall never stay in this hotel again. After the first night's experience, I moved to a cheaper, one-star hotel nearby with cleaner/nicer room, more facilities in it, and with a helpful staff.
