Four friends traveling together in Italy and our first time in Venice. We stayed two nights at Locanda San Barnaba and it was very enjoyable. Beds were comfortable, rooms had charm and the staff were so helpful and kind. We loved the hotel and wished we could have stayed longer but our trip was ending. We all agreed that we would definitely select this hotel if traveling to Venice again. There is a lovely salon to use for visiting, reading or checking email (best wifi connection in the hotel). As noted in other reviews, it is just a few steps from the Grand Canal so the vaporetto is very accessible. Breakfast in the dining room was delicious with another pleasant staff person to bring us tea and cappuccinos. The hotel is immaculately clean and the staff are very professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the Locanda San Barnaba.

Spent 3 nights at Locanda San Barnaba. A very comfortable hotel with a great location and friendly, most helpful staff. Arrived at the train station and took a water taxi to hotel. Very cool pulling right up to the hotel's "water door"! Breakfast was always very good with cereal, croissants, ham and cheese, etc., available. Location of the hotel was great...very convenient. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again if ever we go back to Venice!

We spent 2 nights at Locanda San Barnaba. The location is perfect, away from the crowds. The hotel is easy to find, has great service, and is a beautiful building. Just 100 steps from the Grand Canal and the vaporetto stop, Ca'Rezzonico. Lovely Breakfast, including bread, pastry, croissants, cereal, ham, cheese, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. We enjoyed a Spritz in the afternoon in the Salon. Very close to numerous restaurants. We were able to explore the neighboring squares and shops. I would definitely stay here on a return trip to Venice.

We arrived by car and had made a reservation at Garage San Marco. It was easy to find, once we got to the floor for parking, an attendant parked the car in the small space. It was a short walk to the vaporetto number 1.

Room tip: We had a superior room on the small canal. The ceiling had a lovely fresco.

This small hotel is just pefect for a trip to Venice!

The nice palazzo is only 200 m from the vaporetto station Ca'Rezzonico and has its own boat pier in case you want to take a private taxi boat directly to the hotel. We stayed in the only ground floor room next to the reception: Large room, very clean, no disturbing noises from the reception. The Italien breakfast was served in the courtyard during our sunny stay. The surrounding area (Dosoduro) is not as touristy as other parts of Venice and you can find nice restaurants and bars within walking distance.

I broke my foot during our stay falling down the stairs of a bridge. The hotel's staff was more then helpful and orgazised everything that was necessary. We will definitely come back.

The only minus: The pictures of the hotel's website. The hotel is much nicer than these pictures suggest.

We had a great stay here. Our room was very large, with a large bathroom, and was spotless, although it could have used better lighting and brighter reading lamps. The common areas were lovely. We absolutely loved the little outdoor courtyard, where we had breakfast everyday, with delicious home-baked croissants. Not a lot of variety in the buffet, but it was fine for us. The courtyard was charming, with little birds flying around, and is right next to a canal, with lots of greenery. When we were sitting there, I just had this wonderful feeling of "this is Italy at its finest." The people who worked at the hotel were all incredibly nice and helpful. The location is perfect - about 100 steps from a vaporetto stop and an Alilaguna stop, which is the vaporetto from the airport. Dorsoduro is a great area, a little bit away from the tourist hordes, but very lively, with easy walking access to wherever you might want to go in Venice. This hotel didn't fall into the "elegant" category, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars but given the reasonable prices, this was expected. The rooms, as mentioned, are very nice, but also a little on the simple side. However, I am very picky about my hotels, and this is a lovely hotel that I would definitely stay in again and would highly recommend. Would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could.
