“Great location, nice room, good price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

Great location right in the St. Mark's area; just a two-minute walk from the San Marco vaporetto stop. We could walk to all the sights easily from the hotel and stay out late without having to make a long trek back at the end of the night. Room was small like probably most in Venice but charming and had everything we needed. Good price for an awesome location, and a very nice breakfast too. Amazing croissants, just sayin. My husband and I were very pleased with our stay here!

First time to Venice and this hotel could not have been better placed. We booked a Lagoon View room and it was simply stunning. The size of the room was generous for a Venetian hotel, the bathroom was small but manageable. The view was incredible, we had the only room that had two windows overlooking the water. Highlight recommend paying the extra for one of these rooms. Windows opened and allowed the breeze and background noise of the waterfront tourists to be heard giving some atmosphere to the room. Felt like we were still in it all while in the comfort of our private room.
Breakfast room was down the lane way next to the hotel, was small but clean, offered a good array of pastries, coffee and fruits, yogurts and meats/cheese. No hot options such as eggs, bacon etc.
Small narrow staircase brings you to a tiny balcony at the top of hotel which provides beautiful views and you can order food to eat up there although we didn't do this.
Perfectly situation right around the corner from St Marks Square, meaning you can get up early and head down to experience the square early in the morning before the crowds of people arrive (we did this at about 8am).
Bed was not the most comfortable but certainly not the worst either.
Hotel staff were also friendly and happy to help. There is only one elevator and it is very small/narrow however was not a problem we never had to 'wait' for the lift really and the luggage squeezed in (just)! Some people have commented that this was a problem, worst case scenario go up one at a time with the luggage. Really not a problem!

Would certainly stay here again if ever to return to Venice.

This was a lovely hotel, with very friendly staff. Continental breakfast with good choices. The rooms were lovely, but small, and there was also a lift. Very near to the front where the vaporettos were and close to St Mark's Square. There was a lot to see and the hotel was easy to find.

Room Tip: We didn't choose our room, but our family had 3 rooms between us and they were all very nice.

This was our first visit to Venice. We only stayed for one night and travelled to Venice from the Airport. We caught the Vaporetta from the Airport and got off at San Zaccaria, this stop was right in front of the hotel. We checked in and were then ready for sightseeing. St Mark's square is a five minute walk along the front where we visited the Basilica and surrounding historical buildings. We then hired a Gondola from the waterfront and had a forty five minute tour of the waterways. The hotel is in a very good central location which allows you to see a lot of the main tourist attractions especially if you do not have much time. The room was very nice and was clean. There is a roof garden where you have a fantastic view of the waterfront which was excellent. The only downside was that breakfast was not served in the main hotel but was served in an annexe round the corner, not a problem but slightly unusual. This hotel is reasonably priced as it is on the front, outside a vaporetta stop and very close to main attractions, we would stay here again as it provides an excellent base.

Our last stop on our honeymoon and it was a great place. Nice big room with and updates bathroom. Location is remarkable, right next to the piazza San Marco and right in front of a water taxi Stand. We will stay here again.

I very much recommend Hotel Paganelli for those wanting a reasonably priced stay in an awesome location in Venice. St. Mark's Basilica is really at 5 minutes from the hotel and the water bus stop is also in front of it. When we first saw the facade of the hotel we were a bit shocked but later we understood that probably due to some law to preserve the city's landscape, the owners can't do much about it. But forgetting this, once you get in from the first door, the overall impression of the hotel is really good. Our room was quite nice and we had a very nice stay there. Most of all, the staff were always very kind to us. Marco at the reception gave us lots of ideas on what to do and see and with his kind advice we could make the most of our short stay in Venice.

Very friendly great service. Location was excellent. Great canal view. Very easy to access cruise terminal the water bus stoped in front of hotel. Just wished the beds were more comfortable. Well worth it. Great value for the money.
