“Great find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

Easy to get to, friendly staff, clean, great location away from huge tourist spots but close to all. Would stay here again for sure. Free breakfast and wifi. Only downside is wifi keeps disconnecting and you have to keep signing back on to it.

This is probably one of the smallest hotels I've ever stayed in, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in quality! Spotless from top to bottom, polite friendly helpful staff and a classic room made for an amazing trip to Venice.

The location is great, it is within a short walk of the hussle and bustle of St Marks' Square, and offers incredible views of the water, as well as the water front of Venice.

Would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again. Also, the private water taxi is an expensive alternative to the other options, but an amazing way to arrive! Great one off experience, it's €110 from Marco Polo to the hotel. Took the 'public' ferry back, which at €15 each was a much cheaper alternative but offered no frills. Still, not a bad way of getting to the airport!

Great stay, great location, great place! Thank you!

Room Tip: All the rooms offer a view of the lagoon, so don't worry about that!

Friendly and efficient staff. The room was very comfortable although on the small side. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and all wonderfully fresh
.But the best thing about this hotel its location.Just out of the madness of St Marks square, close to Via Garibaldi with its great choice of restaurants and bars. Also close to the main site of the Biennale.

We have just got back from a lovely stay in the Bucintoro.

Location: The hotel has a great location only being a 5-10 minute walk from St Marks Square and is right next to the water bus stop! As it is a small walk in it means that you avoid the crowds (it is busier than London in the square!) and can find some nice restaurants etc without the price tag!

Room: The room was very comfortable and had everything you need. We were unfortunately ill for the majority of the trip and were so grateful for somewhere with a bit of luxury and with good aircon (was very hot outside)

Service: the hotel staff were very attentive and helped us with anything we needed including advice on how we get back to the airport!!

Will definitely return to this hotel if I happen to visit Venice again!

My sister and I traveled to Venice this past June. We stayed for three nights at the Bucintoro hotel. I loved the junior suite that we had. The hotel looks like the inside of a very elegant ship. breakfast was included and was wonderful. there was a good selection of foods. We enjoyed the wifi in the room. The hotel is just far enough from the crowds. It was very close to the arsenale vaporetto stop which was very convenient. I had the Venice pass which I highly recommend which allows you to hop on the vaporetto. It was very quiet at night and the view from the hotel was spectacular. I do recommend that you stay there. You will not be disappointed. Get the Venice pass as well. It will come in handy.

Room Tip: The staff was wonderful and inviting. They also provided a free water taxi to the island of Murano.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at this small hotel, which is situated right on the lagoon. Our room had a wonderful water view. Before we arrived we asked for an upgrade to a larger room, and we were happy to find out that the front desk was able to accommodate us. Because of the double-paned windows, the room was extremely quiet, and the air conditioning was silent also. (I hate noisy window units that cycle on and off all night.) We really liked the location, too, just outside of the tourist district. We were only about five blocks from St. Mark's Square, so that was perfect. It was an easy walk from the Arsenale vaporetto stop, and the airport vaporetto (Alilaguna line) stops there also. There are so many restaurants nearby that you'll have trouble deciding where to eat. If you're more adventurous, explore the narrow streets and alleys nearby, which have a real neighborhood feeling, with some small shops and restaurants a lot cheaper than the tourist spots.

The only drawback I can think of is that our beds (twin size) were 33 inches wide, a bit narrower than the American standard. It didn't really bother us; I just mention it in case it matters to someone. The breakfast was adequate, and you can get eggs made to order for an extra fee. We found everything to be perfectly clean, and the hotel feels very well cared for.

We last stayed at this address in 2005 when it was a family run hotel, with amazing views from our windows of the lagoon and grand canal. We found it a great location for travelling on the vapotetti and for eating out on the via garibaldi and in the arsenale area. Each morning and evening we enjoyed the views from our rooms of Venice. We returned this year at greatly increased prices. Though the hotel was ableto offer us a room at short notice. We that the new owners had totally transformed the space. Our room on the first floor, where we had stayed before, was beautifully kitted out as a cabin with varnished wood, metal trimmings and a small marbled showroom. Compact and well equipped it was a third of the size of the original room we had stayed in. The small windows offered amazing views of Venice as well as ariial displays by local swallows. but we missed the large vistas that the old rooms afforded. The breakfast area on the first floor was compact too seating twelve people. We enjoyed a buffet breakfast with coffee or tea served by staff. Service was efficient and staff were well informed about local travel. We felt as if we were sailing on dry land,so it could be a good start for those moving from Venus onto a cruise holiday.
