“Outstanding experience in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

My wife and I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of November. It was truly one of the high points of our trip to Venice. The service was among the warmest and most personal that we have experienced at any property anywhere. The location, right on the Grand Canal, is terrific. The breakfast included was very good. The experience of sitting on their terrace, overlooking the Grand Canal, sipping a hot chocolate, and just watching the traffic pass on the canal was an one not to be missed. Our room, which overlooked the Grand Canal, was spacious and comfortable. The only negative would be the shower, which was the smallest I have ever used. The hotel is pricey, but overall, well worth the splurge.

I would agree with much of what has been written already. Even reading beforehand that guests were referred to by name, when it actually happens, it still seems surprising. The staff could not have been more welcoming, courteous and helpful.

We arrived by water taxi and the hotel's own dock made arrival a breeze.

Great position by the Rialto. Loved it!

We chose this hotel for our Venice honeymoon based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. From the moment we entered we were treated like royalty. We were met in the lobby by the owner, Matteo who greeted us by name. The same was true of all the staff, even though we had not met them they knew us by name. The level of service we received here was unmatched and we have traveled at many four and five star resorts. There was a bottle of champagne and a note congratulating us on our wedding waiting for us in our room.

The location was also wonderful, very centrally located and a short walk to the Rialto Bridge and San Marco's Square. The staff is also very helpful in getting around the city as well as delicious dining recommendations. If you are visiting Venice you will not want to miss this wonderful place.

Room Tip: Book a room overlooking the canal.

Such a friendly group of fellows run this beautiful hotel right on the Grand Canal. It's definitely worth it to pay extra for a room on the Canal. The room we had one night towards the back/ facing courtyard was a bit stuffy, though very quiet.

Room Tip: get one of the rooms that face the Canal

Matteo , along with the his entire staff , made me feel so welcome , after first meeting ,all knew and remembered my name. !!!! The ambiance was so very regal , the location perfect, overlooking the Rialto Bridge, just breathtaking. Many happy moments were spent on the balcony, glass of wine in hand watching the activity on The Grand Canal. This amazing restored 14th century Palace will be the one and only residence for me when visiting Venice next time. I have a strong feeling the same fantastic staff will be there, they are so much like a wonderful proud family, who cherish this Gem in Venice. It was with a very heavy heart, And a farewell glass of wine compliments of the Hotel, that I was fare welled by Staff as I left by Water Taxi ( from their private pontoon) No struggling over cobblestones and bridges with luggage here.!!! You made it perfect !! I WILL BE BACK

We were lucky to stay at this most charming hotel in September 2012.Not only did we have the best room in the hotel(108),but it was the first stop on our 4 weeks in Italy,it did not disapoint.
The owner,Matteo, and staff, especially Oliver, treated us as friends not strangers.Their passion for the hotel and Venice was very evident. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and would never conisider staying anywhere else when we are ever in Venice.

Room Tip: room 108 gives you the most magical experience.

Location was excellent and the drinks and breakfasts on the porch overlooking the Grand Canal were a treasured experience. But I think the warm and caring attitude of the entire staff made this a most memorable place to stay. My only question is why are there seemingly no radios in hotel rooms in Italy?
