“Beautiful Hotel, Excellent Location!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012 via mobile

We recently stayed 2 nights at the Savoia & Jolanda in Venice. The hotel is beautiful from the moment you step into the lobby. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent concierge services. Phenomenal breakfast buffet, the absolute finest of our entire tour of Italy! Excellent location, 2 bridges from Saint Mark's Square, 1 bridge from the San Zaccaria water bus stop, and the departure stop for the water bus to the airport is literally right outside the front door. There were a couple of small issues: if you are tall (I am 6'3"), you DO NOT want to stay in any of the upper third floor rooms. Although those rooms are very new, our room was "A-Frame" shaped, and I was not able to stand in the bathroom or the shower. You also have stairs to navigate after reaching the floor to get to those rooms which isn't pleasant with any sort of luggage going up or down. Also, although they offer free wifi, it is not reliable and you must log on regularly using the username and password provided by the hotel. Overall, a tremendous establishment.

Very good location with water us stop right outside. Hotel staff excellent, very friendly and nothing too much trouble, all English speaking which helped! Room was fabulous, very weel appointed, beautiful, large en-suite, all very clean. Turn down service and clean hand towels in the evening a bonus we weren't expecting. I visited Venice with my mother who is almost 80 and this hotel was ideally located for sightseeing. Breakfast brilliant, great choices and lots of it! Would definitely visit again. Venice has to be on everyone's places to visit list!

An excellent location...waterbus stops directly outside hotel making the journey very easy (15 euros pp from airport to hotel-excellent way to see the numerous boats and land views!) , close to many attractions and restaurants. Friendly staff, comfortable room albeit small but clean and newly decorated. Bathroom a good size, modern and new, fresh linen daily and towels changed twice daily. A good range of breakfast to suit all tastes. All in all we couldn't have asked for more-for a 3 night break- will definately return!

Room Tip: Why not ask for a room with a view-we didn't but should have...

I did not stay at this hotel, but I did have lunch here on three occasions. Each time the food was delicious and the service was second to none. If you want a good reasonably priced meal or snack near to St Mark's then this is the place. Also a good location overlooking the lagoon.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Our room with a view. Very pleasant hosts. Lifts for 2 persons only Clean rooms worthy of 3 stars.Best seafood soup in town. Doorsteps from San Marco. Venice is unique and a city to visit before you die.
Bring along a PFD - personal floatation device if you cannot swim.

Room Tip: take the lofts rooms they have a round bed

My husband and i just recently stayed at this hotel for my birthday treat. Unfortunately i cannot comment on the price of the hotel room, as i cashed in my airmiles that i had been saving up using my Tesco Shopping Vouchers, that gave us a 4 night stay with economy flights, so the only cash involved was our spending money! ...(i booked with Airmiles before they changed to their name to Avios!). We were given a room on the side of the hotel which had a balcony & small view of the Lagoon, but an amazing bigger view from the Bathroom! The double room was fantastic, very clean & spacious enough with the luxurious bathroom having everything you needed. I had pre-booked the airport tickets, local water boats & museum passes on line by using the 'Venice Connected' website, which saved us quite a few pounds. The airport boat was a 10 minute walk away from the airport (just as you leave the airport building, immediately turn left & walk down a walk-way that has a white covering) & took about an hour to get to our stop (San Zaccaria) which was right outside the hotel and just a few minutes walk away from St. Marks square. The hotel staff were very warm & friendly and we were shown to our room by the porter and then he returned just a few minutes later with our suitcase (the suitcase had to have a seperate journey due to the lift being a bit on the small side!). The breakfast is complimentary and had everything you needed from fruit, yogurts, pastries, cereals, bacon & scambled egg. Venice food is varied and very delicious, I cannot comment on the hotel's own restaurant as we eat out elsewhere each evening, as there are many places to eat virtually on every street. Venice is absolutely beautiful with so many sights to see & visiting other islands such as Lido & Murano were very easy using the local Actv boats. There is an endless amount shops that sell carnival masks & glass jewellry which are located everywhere. There are millions of visitors to Venice ...with the noise to match, so be prepared for a busy place. I would definately recomment a visit to Venice and definately recommend a stay at the Savoia & Jolanda Hotel. Just take Venice for what it is & enjoy!

We went for our wedding anniversary through a deal with Citalia at the end of February for 4 days. The weather was perfect which always helps. The first decision at the airport was waterbus or water taxi, we chose the waterbus which was cheaper and slower. On reflection we should have entered Venice on a water taxi, as we could have gone down the Grand Canal and returned on the waterbus. The Hotel is right opposite the waterbus stop so no lugging on suitcases. The hotel fronts the canal at the start of the Grand Canal and is only 5 minute leisurely walk from St Marks Square. We were welcomed by attentive staff and shown to our standard room, the deal did not include a canal view, although you could see it if you hung out the window! We selected the half board option which was one way to control the cost of eating out but in hindsight it was a bit unnecessary. Our room was very well appointed with a lovely bathroom, comfortable bed and a safe. Hotel breakfast was excellent and one day we swopped dinner for lunch and sat outside overlooking the water, superb. The hotel is a great place to explore from (and easy o find if lost!). Only downside was that the hotel did not have its own bar so any nightcap had to be taken in one of the hundreds of bars close by. A very enjoyable break made better by a very good hotel in a suberb location. Would recommend..
