Because we were taking a cruise, we we're looking for a hotel close to the port. After reading some reviews, we decided this hotel might work out for us. We were staying for a week, before boarding our ship.

What we found was a small, quaint hotel close to the port and we found it easy navigating with our luggage. The staff was friendly and very helpful. When we arrived the room was ready and we were offered a free glass of Prosecco, which we had sitting at the table right on the canal. It could not have been a more perfect beginning for our Venice experience. The Vaporetto was basically at our doorstep and there were many restaurants, some recommended by the hotel, very close and excellent. (Try "Ribot", it's close, food was great, wait staff super friendly. It quickly became our favorite).

The hotel elevator was the cutest, smallest elevator we'd ever seen. We had to go up separately from our luggage. The bellman brought the luggage on the next trip up.

Our room was in the main hotel, it was smallish, but to be expected in Europe. It was well appointed, clean and comfortable.

We were very happy with this hotel and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the main building, not in the annex.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Olimpia after a recent cruise. The hotel had an open courtyard in the middle the hotel property surrounded by a small group of buildings. The was not a bargain hotel but offered surprisingly large rooms that was well furnished. It's located very close to the Piazzale Roma and was convenient to the vapparatos, buses, and transportation to the airport. The staff was great and was happy to help us plan our visit.

Me and my parent spent two night here and the hotel is just like the pictures. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is a short walk from the main train station and the city looks amazing at night. If you get chance, go see a show live classical music show. It will make the holiday!

We stayed in Hotels in Rome and Florence - but this was the best by far. This hotel is walking distance from the train and bus stations. The front desk folk were pleasant and helpful. While the hotel is old and full of narrow corridors and a small evalator, the rooms were clean and ours was large. The complimentary breakfast was far better than any of the others we had in Italy. They have a beautiful courtyard out back in addition to tables by the canal. It may be further away from the center of Venice than most hotels, but it was very close to a ACTV Water Bus station. The free wifi was weaker in our room than the lobby, but still far better than the other places we stayed at. This was a great way to end our trip.

Room Tip: May want to ask for a canal facing room, but the views are not terrific regardless. So much to see...

I originally made reservations at Arlecchino Hotel, which is next door. However when we arrived a note on the door told us to go to Hotel Olimipa to check in. We were greeted by a very helpful receptionist. She told us we had been given an upgraded room at their hotel. She also informed us about the breakfast the next morning, which was wonderful. Of the 3 hotels we stayed at on our European adventure, they had the best breakfast! We were also given two complimentary drinks in their lounge. The bell boy took us to our room which was in what seemed to be their annex. The room was HUGE!! King size bed, sleeper sofa, and room to spare. Largest hotel room we had in Europe! The room did over look the canal...there was some noise from the street during the night, so if you are a light sleeper, you may not want that view! Also at about 5am what sounded like air raid sirens went off, followed by some notification. Unfortunately I don't speak Italian and I'm not sure what they said. My only guess is that is had something to do with the fact that the city was flooded that morning.

Over all a great hotel and if I am back in Venice I would go back to Hotel Olimipa. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

This Hotel is right on a canal. It is a charming, Venetian hotel. There is one caveat! Make sure your room is in the front part of the hotel if you need elevator service. We were put in the back - which is through the garden. Then there are lots of stairs. I would go back with the front part stipulation. The breakfast was adequate and tasty.

Green Features: We ate dinner at the restaurant in front of the Hotel. Very good!

We travelled with another couple and as my husband is not very mobile we chose somewhere near the bus station and also close to a vaporetto stop (Piazza Roma). It was really convenient and meant that we could get about much easier. The vaporetto was easy to get on and off and we managed very well. The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient and we were very pleased with our rooms. Wonderfully clean and well appointed. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choices. There was even a welcome drink on arrival. We would certainly recommend it.

Room Tip: We were in 108 and our friends in 109 and they overlooked the garden. Very quiet and pretty view.
