“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

We have just returned from a long weekend at this hotel. What can be said that hasn't already been written? We had a room in the annexe overlooking a residential street. It was very quiet. The room was decorated in Venetian style and was a good size and very clean. We were very pleased with the room. There was a very good buffet breakfast and the staff ran around making sure that the buffet was kept fully stocked. The location was brilliant. We bought a 72 hour ticket for the vaparettos, and being so near to Pizzale Roma these tickets were put to good use. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

My husband and I and our traveling companions booked 2 rooms at the hotel. As we arrived in Venice by cruise ship, we checked in mid-morning, knowing our two room would not be available until later in the afternoon. When we returned in late afternoon, we discovered that our rooms had been given to other guests. Thankfully the hotel was able to accommodate us in different rooms (they said better rooms), but close to an hour was spent unraveling it all. A disappointing start to our stay. Another disappointment was that the air conditioning had been turned off for the season. We did not leave the windows open overnight as there were no screens. That made the room stuffy.

The location was great….close to the cruise terminal and the main bus station for transport to the airport. We did not eat the included breakfast, as we had to leave very early to catch a flight. I would probably stay there again because of location and hope for better treatment in the check-in process.

Dear Sirs,
We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience occurred at your arrival, due to the fact, that it was an overly busy morning.
It has been our fault, no doubt, about the time you spent to get the right rooms, but rooms were the one you expected to have. Superior rooms, main building, served by elevator.
Concerning the air conditioning, we subscribed an agreement with a No Profit Association, environmental protection project, to save power with the goal of protecting planet from pollution. That’s is the reason why, during the winter season the air conditioning is turned off.
Rooms 109 and 203 are normally not considered stuffy, but usually highly appreciated from our guests. They have 2 windows in the bed room and 1 in the bathroom ( fairly rare to find in any hotel all over the world ).
Heartily sorry for not having fulfilled your expectations, please accept our apologies.
Best regards,
The Hotel Management.

We arrived at the hotel after leaving our cruise ship. The lobby was a bit crowded...people checking in; people checking out but Gloria was very friendly & efficient. We were in room 306; overlooked the canal. It was very spacious & clean. Our cruise ship cabin had fabulous bedding and the hotel bedding did not have the same level of comfort but was okay. When we arrived it was sunny so we found the courtyard in the back which was a bit of paradise...lovely green grass, pretty flowers...just idealic. We were there for one night and had very early flight. Again, Gloria booked our taxi & arranged with 2 other guests leaving at same time to share taxi; saved money! The other staff members were also very friendly and helpful.

Forgot about the location! Great for us! Near people mover & vapretto stops.

Definitely recommend!

Room Tip: Book on hotel's website. Also, we kept window open as was gorgeous weather...noise from outside...

This is what I was looking for in my stay in Venice - nice, clean and friendly place to stay that was a classic Italian hotel. The room was small but whenever I had stayed anywhere in Europe the rooms have been. We took the suggestion from TripAdvisor to get a room over looking the garden and were very happy with the out come.

The front desk gentlemen who was there most nights and Saturday morning was Andrew. He was so very helpful, answered tons of questions and was willing to share many Venice stories. He seemed to love what he was doing. When he couldn't off the top of his head answer a question, he once called our room about 30 minutes later or another time had computer print out at the front desk waiting for us.

There was a young (cute) cleaning lady that while she cleaned she would sing. She had a great voice and you would always know when she was working because you would hear the singing. She did not understand much English but turned beet red when I told her she sung beautifully. She even would talk to the cats in the court yard and they seem to know her.

The breakfast was a classic Best western style but with the perfect Italian twist. The staff there worked like crazy to keep every to be just right.

The location could not have been beaten. Just a few minutes away from the boats and a short distance from the buses which can be important if you have lots of bags.

I do not know a thing i would have changed.

Room Tip: I highly recommend getting a room facing the garden courtyard. Facing the canals - you would have to...

I made a reservation for October 9 and 10. I checked it out online prior to booking and the rooms looked nice and comfortable. When we arrived, we were given a room that was so small, my husband had to sit on the bed (which was pushed right up against the wall) in order for me to walk by to use the bathroom. It could have been no wider than 8 feet. It was like a closet--very claustrophobic. This room did not even come close to the pictures on line!

I immediately asked for a different room and was told that that is the type of room that was booked. When I asked if I could upgrade they were sold out of their other rooms. When I asked about the price of the room, they quoted me $225. I booked this room with AMX Travel rewards at the rate of $305 a night,

When we left, I again mentioned to the desk attendant that I was not happy with the very, very small room and she mentioned that next time we should book directly through the hotel to get a better room. So be Sure to clarify that you are getting a room as shown on the internet and not the "closet".

On the positive side, the location and breakfast was excellent. Easy and reasonable to get to taking a shuttle from the airport.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as represented on their website. Tell them you do not want the "closet" si...

Dear Guests,
We are very sorry for not having fulfilled your expectations. Let’s try to reply to your feedback step by step:
The reservation made for you was for a room type Economy Annex, which means a room smaller size than a standard room, or a room located in a separate building with no elevator service. We accommodated you into the main building, small size room, but nicely furbished, cured down to the minimum details, garden view, quiet and relaxing.
We were booked and no other options available ( it was a last minute reservation ).
At the check-out we invited you to book directly through us in order to avoid any kind of misunderstanding, as the one occurred during your stay. The fact is that we received your reservation through a web site, which did not have good care of informing you about the room type booked for you.
Concerning the points used to pay the room night, you should contact Amex directly, to clarify this issue. We quoted you Euros 225,00, which are at today’s exchange rate $ 302,00.
It is our great regret, that you think we accommodated you in our worst room, since our policy is to be absolutely customer oriented.
Heartily sorry for not having satisfy your needs, we kindly ask you to accept our apologies for the inconvenience occurred.
Our kindest regards,
The Hotel Management

First, don't think of this small hotel as a Best Western like those in the US. The quality if much higher. Location is fantastic in terms of ease to get to, 5 minute walk from Piaziale Roma and near cruise terminal.Have been to Venice multiple times, but this time took the express bus to Piazziale Roma, and walked accross to small bridges to the hotel. The room(superior) was lovely and obviously updated with windows over looking the canal. Breakfast was a buffet and the capocinos yummy. Only draw back was size of the elevator that fit maybe two thin people. Highly reccommended for stay if coming or going on cruise(as we were), but also easy to get around Venice to tour also.
