“Very good choice for a pre or post cruise stopover in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

Booked this hotel with the idea of getting off our cruise ship and not rushing straight to the airport to get out of Venice. The hotel is a short stone's throw from the Piazzale Roma main bus (6 Euros to the airport by bus - 30 mins) station/vaporetto stops/cruise ship 'people mover' monorail, across one canal. I wasn't expecting that much as we'd booked a good rate months in advance. The hotel let us store luggage until check in and we had a room at the back (recommended) on the ground floor with a patio table in the beautiful, tranquil garden under a fig tree with birds singing. Flowers and a nice lawn for our little one to run on. Good wifi. Breakfast was included and was very nice indeed. The room itself (a small 'triple') was nothing to write home about - don't expect luxury - but it was fine for a night. The hotel kindly supplied a kettle, tea and ice when asked. I would recommend this place to anyone stopping over briefly in Venice for it's great location, serene garden, good brekky and excellent service in general. There's a couple of good cafes / restaurants around the back of the hotel away from the more touristy ones on the piazzale Roma (no cover charges etc)

Room Tip: We took room A2 at the back with verandah door out to the shared garden. Very nice.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the hotel during July. It was my first visit to Venice but my grandparents had stayed there before. The hotel had a brilliant proximity to the station- which was one of the reasons we chose it initially. It was only about a five minute walk even with a couple of large suitcases.

Our room was very clean, had good air conditioning and was decorated in the traditional Venitian style. The bathroom had a bidet and a huge shower, just no bath unfortunately.

The breakfast spread had a good selection of hot and cold food, with a few regional pastries on offer- I particularly enjoyed the typical Venitian biscuits which I dunked in my morning coffee, they are not to be missed! There always seemed to be a choice of seating indoors, however there is a less seating outside in the lovely garden area -which is why they recommend you go down early. So we did miss out on an outdoor table once.

Although the hotel has no resturant of it's own the staff were very helpful and more than happy to recommend a few local restaurants. We did have some mixed experiences at the other resturants we tried, but you certainly don't have to travel far to find somewhere to eat.

Certainly would recommend and would definately go again.

We stayed here in April 2013 as we arrived by train and were planning to leave by ship, so its location seemed perfect. It turned out to be perfectly located for us as we could arrive easily without any hassles, and travel to the 'main' sites at St Marco etc by vaporetto cheaply and easily (or by a long-ish walk) and there were plenty of interesting restaurants etc and interesting things to see within easy stroll. Our particular room was a touch small, but comfortable, with a great view across the rooftops. Bathroom was comfortably large, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Good location and good value for money.

Everything I read on trip advisor was accurate!!! We rode a bus (6 euros--about a 20 minute ride) from Marco Polo airport to Pizzale Roma (where the buses and taxis stop). It was a very short walk with just 1 bridge to cross to reach the hotel which is on a canal, but not the grand canal. We just got one of the smaller rooms with no view because we knew wouldn't be in our room much. It is a small hotel, but recently remodeled, very clean, lovely breakfast room, and beautiful backyard area. The price was very reasonable when compared to other Venice hotels. The desk personnel were extremely helpful and polite. We took a taxi for 15 euros to the cruise port (very close), There is cheaper transporation, but with our luggage, we wanted to be dropped off right in front of our ship. We didn't want to drag our luggage around. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!! Attached a few pictures...

Room Tip: We didn't have a view, but chose one of the smaller rooms which was great for us.

Just returned from an overnight stay in Venice . This hotel exceeded our expectations! We were warmly greeted by Andreas Z who was so welcoming and friendly, with excellent English and a ready smile. He gave us lots of good advice on the area.
We were so fortunate to have been assigned to room 305, which was beautifully decorated and had 2 windows facing the canals. All furniture was brand new but in Venetian style. Bathroom was also brand new and had a rain shower.
This hotel is an easy walk over one bridge to or from the People Mover, as well as a shorter walk ( same bridge) to catch the airport direct bus for 6 euros pp.
Breakfast was included in price and was served in a lovely breakfast room or outside on the garden patio. Hot scrambled eggs as well as many choices of cold cereals, fruits, yogurts, cheeses, pastries , and cappuccinos included. More than enough to start off the day!
Venice was very hot and very crowded, but by staying in this area close to Piazzale Roma were had some quiet times not far from the action.
We will stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. We loved it!
Thank you very much to Hotel Olimpia !

Room Tip: We enjoyed facing the front of the hotel with the canal view.

The pros: Close enough to the train stations and bus station that you can walk until the hotel only crossing 1 bridge which is very important in Venice. Otherwise, be prepared to carry your luggage though many bridges (and by bridge I mean a lot of stairs) or to pay lots of money for taxi. In addition to that, you can easily achieve the touristic points during the day by walking 10 to 20 minutes, which in Venice is a good thing since this is the best way to know the city. The staff is also very friendly and looking forward to help with providing information or making reservations for the attractions in the city. The room seemed very renewed and pretty comfortable. The breakfast is very nice.
The con: depending on the room you book, there is no elevator (despite of the fact that there is a ring boy to help you out). But during your stays your stay you would have to use the stairs for 2 or 3 floors. Well, if you know about it in advance, than it should be OK. I would recommend it and I would stay there again if back in Venice.

Room Tip: By that time you book it, have in mind that the economic rooms will not have elevators. If this is a...

We stayed three nights prior to a cruise and found it perfectly located with small but delightfully furnished rooms. The garden was a bonus in Venice and lovely for a drink or breakfast. The buffet breakfast had everything from cooked to fruit, cheeses, meats pastries and cereals. I loved the decor in the breakfast room, looking to the garden or canal. The staff were very helpful. It was easy to get transport to cruise port, airport and the tourist area of San Marco. We walked there as well.

Room Tip: The canal views are great and the garden ones are perhaps quieter and picturesque. The canal side al...
